I had one back in 1980. Wish I still had it.

Not too hard to find on eBay now, but yes your original childhood one would be great to still have.

Unique blue for the riders helps make this set extra cool! Child of the 1970’s myself 😀

Hi there! Nice set, the undamaged sign and paper flag are hard to find. I have this set I purchased from the original owner but the cavalrymen are in turquoise instead of royal blue. I believe this set is from 1975, nice video, enjoyed seeing this!

Very cool that that is your set.

Interesting that the set included only four riders.

Yes and this was my childhood set too. I always hated that they were light blue and not the same color as the other figures.

What’s interesting is that your side panel says, Louis Marx Glen Dale, WV. my box says, Louis Marx Erie, PA., interesting I believe Erie plant closed in 1975, Glen Dale closed 1980.

I'll need to look at my other boxes and see what they say. Thanks for the comment.

I think the horse and rider are in the sandbox under the porch.
Either that or they are being held prisoners as hostile enemy combatants by the Green Army men.
If you can contact the other tribes of Natives or the Fire and Rescue Departments... they might be able to negotiate some sort of exchange.

A friend may have had that set -- I had one with the pioneers and the blockhouse in the back, but his was more like this one. But he also had a gatling gun with the round magazine and cannon carriage. Would that have come with one of these sets or been something separate?

Gatling guns never came with Fort Apache sets. Not sure if Marx even made one. I'll need to research that, good question, thanks for watching.

@@stevekaczmarek7738 That is a Marx gatling gun but it only came with the smaller scale fort not the Fort Apache most people had which is 1/32 scale. That was more like 1/48 scale or smaller.

@@paulknappcollections That's so strange because he clearly had Fort Apache -- he still had the box. It had the movie cavalry soldiers (which I wanted instead of the frontiersmen I got, though I actually like the frontiersman better now). At one point, I traded some of my figures for his, and they were the same size. Perhaps he got the Gatling gun some other way.

@@stevekaczmarek7738 Pretty sure Marx never had a gatling gun for the Fort but I do believe they made one for the Little Big Horn playset but that would've been in the late 1950's.
