The one thing that I always find myself questioning in all the post-apocalyptic movies, is why do the women keep their long hair down while on the move.
because the men took all the hair cutting tools and hair product to maintain their perfectly cut doo's and beards.

Very good film. Was hoping the dog would stick around.She would have done well to stay calm after stepping into the giant footprint, but the thought of what made it, makes it understandable why she acted on fear. Acting on emotions are seldom a good thing. Good job, acting, well written, all around good film.

I always wonder where these post apocalypse people get their batteries let alone insulin. By the way that arm healed fast especially for a diabetic.
Most postapocalyptic scenarios present 90-99% of all people dying or disappearing within 12 months. That means you've got 10-100 times as much stuff as needed for the survivors. The problem is that lots of stuff is perishable. Batteries could be found, and rechargeable ones kept going for some time with little wind turbines and the like. But food and medicines would be a massive issue, and of course people need some water to clean water, and heat themselves and their food.
Generally, insulin manufacturers recommend storing it not more than 28 days unrefrigerated unopened, and 28 days refrigerated once opened. Even if we assume they're being super-conservative, certainly within 12 months it'll all have gone bad.
There's a postapocalyptic book called "One Second After" where the town council meets and tallies up the things they have stored, and who's likely to die in the coming months. Type I diabetics go very quickly, type II diabetics have some hope since with restricted food they'll lose weight, but will still be in trouble. All the people with anti-hypertension drugs, beta blockers and all that won't have long. They also had the interesting but depressing observation that if they ran out of food, even though children are weaker than adults, parents would starve to death before their children did. It's a good book overall, though like most American postapocalyptic fiction assumes a War Of All Against All.

Several thoughts here. I don't understand the point of the big scary monster/alien/whatever that menaced her occasionally throughout the movie, especially since it was very easily dispatched with a single shot at the end. That was extremely anti-climactic.
Kind of confused why the dog seemed friendly to her at first but after she woke up from her tumble it was just staring at her like it was scared of her before leaving.
That aside I did like cinematography and the feeling of loneliness you were able to evoke. And the fact that the girl was quite attractive held my attention. 😅
All in all pretty decent job was done here. Looking forward to seeing more from you and watching your work evolve in the future.

The alien thing doesn't work for me on many levels with so little explanation.

Great movie , great job, I really liked it. She acted really well, that scene where she looked absolutely terrified was so suspenseful.
I also hoped collie dog would hang around but perhaps he/ she was wary of humans ( with good reason )
I did not see that scary shadow monster coming and it really caught me by surprise. I am left with some questions unanswered but I suppose that is the point.

Reminds me of the Walking Dead...just without the zombies!!
i know this was made 2 years ago. imo it was ok but.... she just walked around like she was at a mall shopping. never looked around while she was walking, never made sure the railroad cars or any building was secure. just blindly walked in, never searched the building for anything that would help her survive. opened doors like she was at home. knew exactly where she was on the map. how did she know that? apparently she was a navigation expert. in the real world , you want to have your head on a swivel. always on the alert. never go into any building without staking it out first for at least a day. yeah sure the radio gave her a reason to keep going. but food , water and a secure place to rest was not on her list. fantasy movie that missed a lot of survival methods.

Not bad. Bit confused as to why she was so terrified of the alien/monster if it could be dispatched with one shot like that, but maybe she’d previously always run from it so didn’t realise how easy to kill they are?

These videos are mind candy for peppers. how would I have done it differently? what suppliers should I have had in my pack? how do you select people to trust? what are the common mistakes made over and over in these various videos? could I even handle such a situation?
I don’t have any water but my hands are perfectly clean after two weeks on the road. Won the award for best make-up during the Apocalypse. Unless this was happening in Hawaii she would have died of exposure in a week.-but at least the clothes flatter her figure.
It is possible to survive in many areas if you are from the region. It is better when characters wear gloves.

The photography is very good. But whoever made this film clearly hasn't a clue how one navigates using a map and compass.
You mean you don’t just look at a map & instantly know where you are, after running panicked into nowhere & knocking yourself out for a while?
They go and go. But where? It's summer, instead of looking for a safe long-term location to gather resources. But no, they're going somewhere. This motive is irrational and makes absolutely no sense. The video shows what NOT TO DO

Decent short film. Not perfect, but interesting enough. Don't really get all the criticisms though. Some, but not all.
Yeah... Insulin can be taken regardless of food intake. And it's plausible she found places to clean her hands that weren't depicted on screen. Also, possible she had no formal gun training. Imagination folks, ggeeeezzz. 🙄

Yes! Insulin helps glucose from foods to enter the body’s cells to provide them with energy. The amount of insulin has to be tailored to fluctuating blood sugar levels, as if they use too much they’ll have a hypoglycaemic episode, go unconscious & die. If they don’t use enough, they become hyperglycaemic, dehydrating cells as fluid is drawn from cells & the interstitial space between cells into the bloodstream to dilute the excessively hypertonic blood, & gradually organs & cells start failing from lack of energy & they die.
If they don’t eat enough & use enough insulin, & use lots of energy (say travelling for two weeks on foot to find someone) the body doesn’t have enough energy to function, organs start to fail & they die. So you need to carefully tailor the amount of insulin to food intake & energy output, or you will end up dying within hours to days depending on whether your body has too much sugar it can’t use (days) or too much insulin (hours). It would really suck to be an insulin dependent diabetic in a post apocalyptic world!
Now type two (non-insulin dependent) diabetics have some function in their pancreases, and often their diabetes is due to poor diet & lack of exercise. So their health may actually improve in a post apocalyptic reality depending on the severity of their condition.
@@Irene-iu9sj All humans bleed, but diabetics use very small needles so they don’t bleed much at all from an insulin injection. And insulin must be kept refrigerated.

Kidding aside. It wouldn't hurt for folks makin a movie about being in the wild to actually spend some time doing it. Watch a few vids on bushcraft anyways. There seems to always be a lot of cringe-worthy moments in these postpoc vids where it's completely obvious the actor knows absolutely nothing about the outdoors. And as others have alluded to, that must be one of those Creepy Uncle Joe lung blowing 9 mile-a-meters..
But that's enough nit pickin. The cinematography was very enjoyable. The story was interesting, although kinda campy with the whole alien.... thing.
I'd love to see more from this crew with proper attention to the little details that make a story believable.

Boring AF
You know why there are so many post-apocalyptic shorts like these? Because they're cheap and easy to make. They take no talent or skill or imagination. They're all boring and lame.
This one was on the verge of earning a "C" -- about as good a grade as all these completely ridiculous, hideously unrealistic post-apocalyptic shorts ever get. Then the second mannikin. a gimmick like that can work only once. The woman is obviously right-handed, but is seen carrying the pistol by the grip in her left hand. at least once. Has no clue how to aim a hand-gun in a two-handed grip. Inexplicably, there is actually one scene where the automatic is cocked while she's using it. but just the one out of many.
There's some kind of powerful badness out there. If I wanted to make sure the evildoers found me, I'd make a big campfire every night and fall asleep beside it, and stand on a rock with visual exposure for at least 20 miles. She's giving herself the insulin without even a cursory attempt to sterilize the injection site. She has insulin, endless flashlight batteries, but no fish hooks? arrrrghhh. grade "D+",, because I'm in a kind mood...
The 2nd mannequin had a 3rd headless mannequin behind it too. Maybe the giant monster turns people into mannequins?🤔😂
Ah don't forget she got hurt on the right arm - may explain temporary "left-handedness".
The thing I don't get is, where the power comes from to keep the sender working...
