Not really. What those two actually needed was psychological therapy. Things would have gotten better. Rachel had to go out of the picture. It's not about ultimatum ...if you keep seeing your ex whose name you took in the alter and with whom you were going to the honeymoon , the marriage WILL fall apart , given , she is RACHEL.
@@subratanandy2142 i don‘t think any therapy would‘ve helped there. Ross literally declaired his love for Rachel right in that moment in front if his and Emilys whole family. Emily was naive enough to give him a third chance after seeing him and Rachel at the airport wanting to fly into THEIR honeymoon. Emily would‘ve never gained the trust you need to make a marriage work. Their marriage was doomed right in that moment when he said Rachels name.

I believe if Ross never saw Rachel again , it might have worked ; their relationship was a toxic one after all . Even the best girl Mona didn't give Ross a second chance . But sure, him taking Rachel's name was a thing no person can get over , ever. Realistically, it was forever doomed.

It’s hard to tell. In another world I don’t think it’s an unreasonable request, to ask your husband not to hang around his ex when there may be feelings still there. But as a result he’s banished from his entire friend group, yeah it would not work out at all. And a good wife wouldn’t completely alienate her husband from his friends

Being in love makes it extremely hard to just give up on a relationship even if you have serious doubts- and any reason to have them.
Nah that’s crazy, she either needed to forgive Ross, or move on. The half measure she took was doomed to fail.
I am not saying she is crazy but if there is no trust in the relationship then it’s not worth it she may as well said “no” and it’s ridiculous and impossible for him to not see her because she practically lives with his sister, the situation it’s just unsustainable. Rachel does not have to stop seeing her friends because Emily does not trust her husband, she is not gonna move out and the fact that she called just so she could control that he is not with Rachel and made everyone say their names it’s very uncomfortable 😣

How exactly does Emily expect Ross never to see Rachel again? She lives with his sister and she's a member of the gang. They all hang out at the coffee house and Monica's apartment. Even if Ross wanted to stop seeing Rachel, it's physically impossible to do so since he sees her everyday and she's always around on a daily basis. Yet none of this ever occured to Emily when she pushed this ultimatum on Ross
When you‘ve just been hurt and embarassed in front of your whole family and friends at your own wedding by your own fiancee, you don‘t really care about that ;) What you care about is that your husband will make everything he can to please you after that and gain the trust again.

I really felt bad for Emily, she gave her best each time, at the alter she controlled her anger and didn't embarrass Ross and Rachel. But she still showed up at airport, but again at airport she saw them board together and it was not at all wrong to not want to see Rachel with ross again. She was never wrong and finally when she knew she can't trust them she left. She was just a victim in Ross and Rachel's messed up toxic love.It wasn't Emily's work to understand their chnaging equation it was Rachel's duty to stay away from Ross when he finally found someone and it was Ross duty to make his partner feel secured.
Emily was awful she did so many things wrong.

1. Emily while shocked, resumed the ceremony then proceeded to humiliate Ross and then punch him.
2. Instead of discussing what happened like a mature adult, Emily proceeds to rant like a child and run into hiding, leaving Ross to think that she never wants to see him again.
3. When Ross gets in touch with Emily, he says all the right things apologizes and is willing never to see his friends to save his marriage.
4. Emily becomes a crazy person and makes Ross sell all his furniture and move from his apartment because Rachel has been in there.
5. Emily calls Monica’s apartment and asks who’s all there like searching for trouble. At this point, Rachel is essentially being banned from her own living room until Ross finally speaks up and tells her Rachel is there eating dinner for the last time.
6. Emily then wants to know where Ross is at all times. That is abusive and controlling behaviour. They both realize they can’t go through with it and get a divorce.
Main takeaway is this, either trust your partner or get out of the relationship. Emily wasn’t willing to handle it like an adult and instead made Ross’s life miserable over a terrible mistake. If Emily would’ve went for divorce immediately you’d be correct. However, she was willing to make the marriage work only if she could control his life.

Ross and Rachel after being together for so many times and years couldn't decide whether they should stay together or not. But just after talking over phone for 3 times Emily makes a final decision. Yet much more mature then Ross and Rachel. And Emily punches Ross in private so she doesn't humiliate him, but Ross does.
I didn't feel bad for her character. It wasn't like they were that invested in one another. They hardly knew one another. She should have moved on all together long before she did.
i think we all know that how iconic the relationship was of ross and rachel's but whatever he did to Emily was absolutely not justified

It’s basically plot. They wanted to put them in that room again and have Joey hiding a box and purposely overlooked Monica for the plot device.

It was right after they came back from London. Maybe she was just busy doing her 'laundry'!
I figured this out . Joey kept it after the London incident. He probably had hidden the box when she was at the kips . And after that she was too tired to check or clean .
Since she was so preoccupied with hiding her affair with Chandler during this time she got a little carefree and careless. Remember Chandler's underwear in her couch cushions..?
To be honest, this is why it's never a good idea to get involved with someone who still has a close friendship with an ex, it wasn't realistic to expect Ross not to see Rachel anymore, she was his sister's best friend and roommate, they shared the same friends group, Ross & Rachel would have seen each other at weddings, gatherings, Christmas etc ... I felt really bad for Emily here ... it was a kind of a dead end road for her at this point.
Yes, I feel bad for Emily too since it was Ross who proposed to her and asked her to marry him. Before this, she was doing well and taking her dating Ross in an easy manner. I hope she finds a matured person as her husband and not overgrown toddlers like these 6 desperate and attention-seeking human children.

This whole storyline was stupid and unbelievable because Ross only knew Emily for a few weeks /max 2-3 months, with not much screentime as she was not a main character. I would have felt the same if Chandler and Monica also got married after 2 months.
Yeah, this storyline is so forced just to fit in to shoot in London. Ross and Emily knew each other for only 6 weeks. Remember, they had a 2-week fling and they married 1 month after that.
Legends say Lapooh is still alive. He was just on a break.
The marriage was over, the moment he said "Rachel" in front of a hundred guests.
Over.
Emily needed to make a short announcement, walk out of ceremony, and applogize to the guests by mail. It happens. That is life.
It just means that the wedding was not meant to be. Trust God, and move on.
Ross , in particular , was a LOSER.

She did do many things wrong, it just was never going to work. Both Ross and Emily broke up their relationship (although it was Ross' mistake at the wedding that really set it off, but Emily made her own choices), just as it was both Ross and Rachel that broke up the relationship. You can't say that it was all Ross' fault or that he's the only toxic one when Emily has also displayed "toxic" actions and decisions. If anything, she should've just broken it off. Because what's the point of trying to fix it if she was just going to basically punish Ross and control him.....
