This kind of thinking brings us closer to more intelligent life forms like aliens, the idea is good, living in unity, one society, symbiosis, speaking one language, but aliens won't contact us right now because we're too stupid for them. Primitive wars, divisions, destruction of the earth, climatic disasters, etc.

The galaxy is dark, and empty, and cold. It spins inevitably toward death. You will die too, one day. Perhaps you will have longer than we have. We hope so. But one day you too must vanish.
Until that time, you must light the darkness. You must make the night less empty. We are all small, and the universe is vast. But a universe with voices saying "I am here" is far greater than a universe silent. One voice is small, but the difference between zero and one is as great as one and infinity.
And when your time is passing, please send this message on, so the next voice can speak against the darkness.

They bring it back, and keep it. They evolve and eventually master space flight. Only then do they look at the golden record, and are filled with wonder, they reach earth, only to find that humanity is long gone…

"Greetings to our friends in the stars. May time bring us together."
That is deep and sad at the same time realizing that we're probably won't have much time to reach an intelligence civilization out there but we're trying to be optimistic aside from that. Even if anybody received this Voyager message and track down where it came from, we're probably no longer here. Human is such a beautiful thing ever existed in the universe.

@@Razor1473 Interesting thought, and it could happen from such short snippets, but on the actual record some parts are much longer and a lot of languages have very distinctive sound differences to English or traditional Western languages. From memory, there's a language in Africa that uses very looud clicks as a way of communicating and something like that would definitely stand out in a record like this. Then again I'm assuming who ever gets this is technologically advanced and could differentaite such ideas.
Honestly the idea of them all sounding the same makes me think of how annoying it is when 'alien' races in sci-fi movies only speak one language, we have hudreds, possibly thousands here on Earth, why wouldn't another species on another planet have the same situation?

Imagining a species, just like us,
Sending something; a rover, a crew, a ship; out into their solar system,
    And finding a voyager.
A species that has wondered the same as we have: "Are we alone?"
Finding a voyager. Taking it back to their home planet.
    studying it.
Playing the golden record after finally figuring out how to use it. Not understanding a single word.
But they have an answer. They have found a voyager.
