I was attending Vespers at a monastery in Fort Myers, Florida, when Belya swept in as an alleged "archimandrite." Just a month before he had been a lowly priest at St Matrona's on Florida's east coast. He swept in that evening in full monastic regalia, including enormous, noisy, pleated cape dragging on the floor which he swirled about with enthusiasm. (Keep in mind the church is puny, just a house.) Most disturbing was his beard which was short and trimmed into an immitation of the depictions you see of antichrist. He was literally glaring at me and probably I at him as well, as though we both recognized each other as opposites and enemies. A few months later Metropolitan Hilarion ordered an audit of the monastery and Belya fled to Bartholomew.

FYI, I’m Antiochian, which has its problems, but I have a wonderful traditional Priest.
Side note, the MP is not without major fault as well. Most people are unaware. As Gregory Decapolite says, the Church is not with the EP or MP, it’s with the pious remnant of the local canonical churches.

Though i'd agree there is something to how priests carry themselves and a lot of these ecumenists seem to mimic the look of Western heretics (whereas the long beard is properly in reference to Aaron's great beard signifying the outpouring of Grace on the priesthood), we are instructed by the Lord to discern by their fruits.
Saint Iakovos Tsalikis testified that he was originally unable to grow a beard (genetically, that's just how he was - hairless for most of his young life) yet had reverence for the priesthood's long beard. So he prayed to the Panagia and testified that it's after those prayers that his beard started growing.

Dear Mikhail We know about Elphidophoros and Belya they are crazy we know .. but why never talked about the monstrosity that happened in Ukraine? how about those who are Murdered, Killed and Annihilated by Their Russian Orthodox Brothers??? I think this is MORE important than elpidophors craziness .. right FATHER??

I have talked about this. For you, having more of a mind for things of men, of course it is. But if you had your mind far less tied to the earth and more on the things of God, you would see what a threat this is to the souls of many people. So don’t come on here and pull some CNN nonsense. This is the Church I am talking about. The Church isn’t responsible for what is happening in Ukraine. The evil schismatic church under Dumenko certainly isn’t helping anyone. But you going and accusing the whole of the Russian Church shows you aren’t taking a healthy look at things.

Here's the thing, the problems in Ukraine are directly connected to what is going on in the US. The EP is Facilitating Schismatics and Uniates to take over the Canonical Church in Ukraine.
And now GOARCH is continuing that by attempting a takeover of the Canonical Russian Orthodox Church here in America.
All of this is at the behest of the US Government, which sadly will most likely force ROCOR to rescind the defrocking of Belya on the grounds of "Improper Termination of Employ".
As for the Political Conflict in Ukraine, it has been going on longer than the US' War on Terror lasted. 2004 is when the Ukrainian government started to commit genocide on the Eastern Ukrainian people for being "Too Russian". The escalating of the Conflict is entirely the fault of the US putting Nazis in power in Ukraine and the propping up of a false church to support said Nazis.
War is Hell and is not what mankind is meant for. But blaming the Russian Orthodox Church for it is not in any way proper.

I agree whole heartily that the EP and AB overstep their authority. But I also don't believe these videos are problematic for the church and those who are inquiring because it shifts the focus away from Christ and the faith.
To look at jurisdictions and blanket condemnations is not of God, but of man. The church is local, this is where we live, pray, commune, and worship. Jurisdictionional issues are secondary to our lives, there has always been unfaithful bishops since the beginning of the church. God will judge them and us if we add to schism. Let the saints take care of our guidance.

The fact you’re commenting on this proves it isn’t merely local. That’s a very Baptists perspective which isn’t Orthodox. The Church is universal and it is better they get a perspective like this, rather than being scandalized with no one to provide a voice or insight on the matter. Be careful to not be an ostrich.

I am Catholic. I love watching certain Orthydox teachers on here. Pray for Pope Francis he is not being led by the Holy Spirt, but by the Spirit of the world. It also seems as these Bishops are being lead by that same spirit. I will pray for them. I believe that as Brother and Sisters in Chirst's it's not about what church you attend, but imatating Jesus in your life. God Bless You.

The Popes have not been led by the Holy Spirit since just prior to schism. One also cannot hope to imitate Christ by being taught false doctrines and belonging to any other Church than the one He established. No matter how convincing, a counterfeit is worthless because it is unbacked.

The west needs to shed some of its innovations and heresies before that can ever happen. Not only would the union be worldly and politically motivated, but insincere. Unless we agree on ecclesiology and theology in which we become unified, then the union is false and nothing more than another political land grab by the Papacy.

@@living_orthodox what innovations and heresies? any examples? common theme among the orthodox to accuse catholics of innovations. being outside of papacy, is an act of rebellion. there's an element of pride in it.

Dude they don't want union lol it's going to take a serious miracle. Rome is not going to change its dogmas and the more trad Orthos aren't going to change their view on the filioque and especially their view on the Papacy being first amongst equals as well as other issues.

    • @LadyMaria
      @LadyMaria Před 10 měsíci

The Orthodox Catholic Church kept the door open for Rome to come back into communion after its rebellion, and repent but it never did. Instead, Rome persecuted the Church for nearly 1,000 years. Then last century it decided it wanted unity after it evolved into the mess it did.
We're not going to compromise the Truth for Rome's innovations. That is worldly unity, not godly unity.
