- This week, we follow Brand Ambassador Alan Barnes as he fishes on the River Calder, a beautiful, less well-known tributary of the River Ribble in Lancashire. In this video, Alan shows you have to fish with and bring plenty of fish to the net when fishing with the whip, a fast, efficient and deadly method for any match angler to master. The video includes plenty of tips and tricks for beginners and advanced anglers alike.

Excellent demonstration of whip fishing Alan. I was at the big one show where James first showed the prototype.
The interest was fantastic, Cadence have a definite winner there. Brilliant filming again Chappy.
A joy to watch alan ive known alan for probably 40 years we used to fish matches at Withnell Fold and Whins lane back in the day on bloodworm and joker nice to see instead of carp fishing cheers Alan.
brilliant no one else is doing this it is such a high standard and in depth a grown up video that credits the viewers with some intelligence thank you cadence. # proper fishing
cant beat the flick tip on rivers....it feels like real fishing....no thrills just get on wi y'eet like.... nice one
Yet another great video from Cadence. The lovely simple explanation from Alan, delivered nice and steadily, combined with beautiful camera work from Ian makes for a winning combination. So pleased to see a video on the long Whip which is not used nearly enough outside of Wye matches and is so simple. I’m so jealous that I don’t have access to a river like the Calder! Regards Bill
Don't be frightened of big fish with a flick tip. I've had some cracking skimmers, roach, perch, tench and crucians on mine at 6 mtrs plus the odd bonus bream and a five pound carp that took me all over the shop, much to the delight of the grass cutting crew in the graveyard on the far side of the canal.
thank you for showing the rig, bait and ground.
Brilliant viewing again well done lads
Get in "the pantry"

Another excellent video Alan and chappy, great hints and tip and well explained. The best of sessions when fish react to the bait and you can really put the bait in and get bites right on hemp, great stuff!

Cadence Fishing UK fast! Thanks for letting me know :)
I have the 9m version, with spare top 3 sections. Just looking to elasticate the 2nd section... wondering what bush and bung to use. Any tips :)
Hi! Please drop me an email and I’ll help you out: jcrobbins@cadencefishing.com
@@CadenceFishingUK Awesome thank you. I'll get that sorted after the game tonight.
@@CadenceFishingUK Thanks for the email exchange, and invaluable help. Much appreciated.
Hi if you put elastic in the pole would it bump off the little fish want to get on for canals and commercials just wanted a bit more security that’s all if I hooked a bonus fish cheers
James, of course it's possible to elasticate a whip. It's all about balance in your rig with respect to what fish might be present.
