  • Class 40 40145 / 345 is seen near Cononley and at Ratten Clough & Windy Bridge approaching the summit of the Copy Pit Line. It was on a positioning move from Carnforth to the East Lancs Railway via a long circuit with paying passengers on. 57315 was on the rear. Thanks to Joseph (Monopodman) for the second clip of the loco at Ratten Clough.

Thanks Phil. I filmed it a long while ago and I had forgot what the sound would be like. The wind was a bit strong but the loco sounded superb. The last clip from Windy Bridge worked out ok with the road noise not affecting it. Cheers Mark

Hi Austin. Glad we got chance to film it. We don't get many tours on Copy Pit line. Hopefully the new Tod Curve might bring a few more soon. Regards Mark

Doesn't it look superb, and just right with the maroon stock. The sheep remained unimpressed, though.

Hi Andrei. It looked and sounded great. The sheep are quite accustomed to trains but Bambi the female deer that thinks its a sheep scarpered before the train came. Regards Mark
