Metal Detecting in the Netherlands NR 102

Hello youtube friends. I have made the find of my life. A Roman silver ring with a stone in it. I don't live very far from the Roman border. And although I found this in a place above the border, it is certainly not unlikely because this is where the city waste of the city of Utrecht (Trajectum in roman)was dumped with boats for centuries. Amazing finds, watching from Alberta Canada, have been detecting for over 30 years and the oldest coin I have found is 1882. To see the age and condition of the coins you are finding is just incredible. Thanks for showing us.

Great find, congrats! Could You explain a bit what You said about reporting it/keeping it, “Here in the netherlands its Your property”. Im living and very rarely metal detecting in the Netherlands and laws seems very confusing here. Obviously permit to go on someones land is necessary, and National parks are no place for detecting. Since all land is owned by someone here, where would amateurs like us should try detecting?

Just ask the farmers on farm land and you are good to go. If you find something with value and there is permission and no agreement with the farmer, you are 100% the owner.
