Thank you for all your time you put into teach thousands. Got myself the Gti pro lite and the Sri and it was best I have ever bought and will never want to try any other guns. Once again dude, thanx. Cape Town South Africa.
The only issue with almost any analog is the narrow range to spray in. Most analog gauges are 100-140 PSI max but what your looking for is between 15-40 PSI. I can only see ± 5 PSI. I am excluding the potential for stuck gauges and whether or not the lens can handle spirits.
Hey gunman Im a diy guy from wa state and have been watching your videos alot , from prep work to spraying , I have an az3 that I bought while back to " PAINT SOME SHIT" and quicky realized I like painting and with your advice I just placed an order for a GTI PROLITE from SGD , man I can't wait for it to arrive !!! Keep the great content coming !
I bought this the blue version gti lite because of your feed back and I gotta say Thank u bro!! I wish I would’ve picked up a gunman edition hopefully soon. Thanks again bro I gotta paint some $#!+
I'm for analogue, spraying is more of an art you see and hear rather than an accurate digital gauge with is more in line with refrigeration. But I'm no expert, I do second the comments about more blending video though especially metallic , that's a dark art to get right , As has been said, Sealey is a known brand here in the UK , budget. brand but have their established place in the commercial supply industry 😎
I always use analogue as that's all I have, however, Sealey is a well known brand here in the UK, they manufacture tools for the automotive industry and are a low to mid price range with above average quality in my opinion. It just so happens that I use those Sealey regulators they are about £15, if you get any solvents on the plastic lens it becomes almost impossible to read the scale. I put a bit of tape over it after I've set my gun, the tap works fine though. Hope this helps.
I am not a professional painter.Of my limited experience only painting a couple cars and a lot of repairs I like the analog, regulator, I am an electrician and know digital although probably more accurate are likely to break down sooner. I would like your opinion on the GFG Pro, It looks exactly like the GTI Pro however it is red. On Ebay you can get them from the UK for around $150.00, I have seen them sold for as little as $120.00 and for a backyard restorer
that blue looks awesome. I definitely think I need a new gun I'm still using the red pro they brought out a few year ago. still going strong. I personally prefer analogue but there's times I've used sata with the built in digital reader in the handle and it's been fine
The accuracy of a digital gauge is determined by how many bit the analog-digital converter is. If the converter is 8 bit, 2^8 is 256. That means it can show a maximum of 256 different readings. eg 15.0psi, 15.1psi, 15.2psi etc. To take it to extremes, if the converter was 4 bit, 2^4 is 16. That means it can show a maximum of 16 different readings. This means the lower the converter sampling bits, the bigger the steps between different readings for a given range of readings. You also have a question of temperature stability, but for this use it shouldn't be a big issue.. Effectively the quality of a gauge analog-digital converter is determined by how many bit sampling was used when the thing was designed, and you don't know that without pulling it to bits! The old Bourdon Tube analog gauge is pretty accurate and like you I'd prefer it.. LCD displays probably wouldn't last so well if dropped in a workshop environment, and the analog one can be read very quickly too. The analog one can be very cheaply replaced too. Garry
It's raining and humidity is too high to paint, LOL! Must be nice to have a couple grand of paint gun stuff sent to you, I must be doing something wrong!! Thanks for sharing the info.
I use RTi analog regulators because they are actually regulators that lock in the pressure not like most that are basically just cheater valves also the gauge is 0-45psi so it's easy to read unlike ones that go up to 80+ psi if you need a gun regulator to read up to 80psi u don't need to own a paint gun
I like the digital ones I find them easier to read. I stopped using the cheater valves with a guage like you have there and only use a diaphragm reg now and find them a lot better, I don't get the pressure fluctuations anymore when the air is under demand like I did with the cheater valve regs.
As for the pressure regulators. I've found the analogue DeVillbiss brand to leak at the flare fitting and if you attempt to tighten it up then the bottom part of the fitting bends making it leak even worse. There are countless complaints to this effect in the reviews for the DeVillbiss analog. I've found that the cheap 10 dollar off brand version to work much better although the end opposite the flare isn't a tapered thread like it should be but it still seals up well with Teflon tape. I haven't tried using a digital version but I heard they are built much better than the analogue version which are purely junk.
Hi Mr Gunman. I think your videos and are extremely information. As a fan, could you make a timelapse of what cars and how many cars you paint in a day?
Hey mate is that your new home look's nice best of luck. My eyes are done at last now just have rebuild my bank account before i get ready for my trip to thailand. Like you alway's say get out and paint some shit
analogue all the way. a trick is to put sticky tape over the clear part and that protects the gauge so you can read it.. it's what I have done and no problems here.
Analogue all the way!Digital are over priced and not worth it.dont trust them.love your vids gunman best on utube!!! ,can we have more indepth blending out?
I've gone through so many analog regulators from Home Depot and Lowes, they are all shit.... I have also used a devilbiss digital and its shit as well. I am using a Bostich small compressor to do my jobs for because I cannot afford a big one, but having to go through so many regulator has mad my work sooooo difficult. I have an old Airgunza which sprays great, looking forward to getting a newer gun one day, thanks for all the vids Bro!!!
Hi Gunman. I'm from Poland and at start I sorry for my english, but I better talk than write. I have a question for you. Can you advise me what gun should I buy for clearcote? Interested me two models of DeVilbiss - GTI PRO Lite and Advance HD. In movies on channel you use the most Gti Pro Lite, but maybe you have some experience with Advance HD. In my country they are exactly in the same price, but not many painters using them. Poland located near Germany, so most paintshops have SATA guns. Why I won't buy a SATA gun? I allready have two DeVilbiss guns - FLG 5 and GPI, so in my opinion another DeVilbiss product will be good looking in collection. I will appreciate for your help. You and everyone who can help me take the choice.
Michał Jarecki Czesc..ja posiadam Devilbiss'a GPI ale zastanawiam sie czy dobrze zrobilem wybierajac medzy GPI a FLG5..jesli tym masz jednego i drugiego to moze powiesz ktory jest lepszy?ktory lepiej kladzie lakier bezbarwny na lustro?
the analog gauge is better, you don't have to change batteries :).I have bout set ups on my tekna prolite guns, I prefer old school which is analog gauge.
hello gunman..quick question..did devilbiss change its box design and picture these day?..or still the same?..thanks..im kind of in alert of the fake one..
Hey gunman!!! question on the pro and pro lite, the needles are different from the center are they not? the reason I ask it's cuz in US the tekna pro lite and copper have that difference, they work alike but I do like the feel of the trigger pull more on the tekna copper. just a thought. +Antonio Gonzalez, If you are breaking needles then it's likely that your inlet pressure it set too high. Try around 100-105 for inlet pressure. Using 100psi will also allow for the least amount of pressure change at the gun through the compression cycle.
I really have an itch to get my hands on one of these blue beauty's. I'm a bit of a gun slut myself :) never used a devilbiss gun before. Sata and iwata my whole career. My father used an optima 800 for ever! Wonder if it's possible to get one of these in the states?
+The Gunman hey thanks for the reply. I emailed them yesterday to see if they would ship one over here. Need your advice Gman, we use high solids on everything at our shop which air cap would you recommend?
chevelle4x4 Hi mate I highly recommend the TE20 for HS clears but TE10 is also a good option, if going for material saving TE20 wins, T110 or TE10 for flat finishes but you may find it a little slower with HS clears unless you thin them out a bit more, 1.3mm is always a good but they have 2 options when buying 1.2-1.3 or 1.3-1.4mm setups. If it were me I'd go TE20 with the gun and add a T110 to the order as an extra, SGD do some of the best prices on these guns and fast delivery, mention I sent you for a free cleaning kit.
