Hi Pete, I just wanted to say a big thank you to the work you have put into these videos they have built up my confidence in giving spraying ago for myself, I done my first bit of spraying Friday night just cellulose primer through my ANI F1/NS with the 1.8mm tip and I’m really happy with the way it has come out. I still have some filler imperfections that I need to address before I do another couple of coats of primer then onto the base coat direct gloss through my 0.9 F160. So thanks again Pete please do keep the videos coming they are very helpful informative and gives people like myself the confidence to give it a go.
All the best. Steve.
Thanks Steven, that was the idea of the channel really, most of the guys on here are pros with pro setups, we can buy the tools but we can't replicate the conditions so i thought it would be good for people, like you and me, to show you can get good results without all the heated booths etc, don't know if your on Instagram but if you are maybe you could send me some photos of how you get on, be good to see, cheers mate 👍

@@peteshobbies5383 thanks Pete and for your patience with all my questions over the past few weeks!, the only thing I used to have was google plus but that’s gone now🙁 I will look into Instagram I would love to show my work maybe this will be a good starting point to show case my progress. I will give you a sub when I get it setup. Cheers.
@@Cavalier_Steve ok mate, look forward to seeing what your up to, try not to get put off when things don't go according to plan, mistakes are part of it and each mistake is a lesson learnt, cheers 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 Thanks Pete, there have been a few hiccups with this boot lid that I’m doing mostly with me not sanding the filler enough it’s not until I sprayed it that I see the areas that needs doing clearly. I think I need to buy some guide coat hopefully that will help me. I’m sure there will be plenty of errors along the way. Cheers.
I like more TE 20 and than T 110 but for Japanese cars only. Great review like always!! Thanks a lot!
Thanks Walter, yes, the Japanese have a very fine peel with very little materials so i see where you would use the T110, cheers 👍
There is a point where the better atomization results in more small imperfections that are probably clearcoat that dries between the gun and part. The te20-110 are a good example of that point.
Hi Mate, yes, i see what your saying, makes sense for sure 👌
JUST SEEN THIS PETE CRACKING GUN THAT PAL NO TIGER STRIPES THERE !
Hi Andrew, Yes, mate, good old tools for sure 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 that motorcycle tank the finsh is outstanding 👏 well done 👏 good video 📹
@ANDY-we7mr Thanks, mate 👍
I have both the TE20 and T110 cap and have to say I agree with your findings, I'm always painting for the flattest glassy finish I can get so the T110 was my go to until of course I got the DV1 with the C1 cap and 1.2 nozzle and IMO the DV1 gives a better flatter finish than the T110 which may not suit the professional painters who need to match the OEM peel on todays cars.
You're summed it up well john, as you say, flat is not always what people want 👍
You will see a bigger difference on a larger flat panel. One on a vertical and horizontal on the other
Hi Jeff, i have used them both on larger panels from time to time and yes you can see a difference, i virtually always use the TE20 cap as it still gives a cracking finish and is much more tunable to different finishes, it's also a lot faster but for the chap on custom job's i fully see the reasons people use the T110, cheers buddy 👍
TE 20 all day long Pete works for me
Hi Dean, yeah, it's the one i use most of the time, a great finish, cheers mate 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 Pete a quick question for you I'm retiring soon and will have to hand my guns in !! They wernt purchased by me . I'm thinking of buying the complete DV1 range for projects having used them are they worth it ????
I would say yes if you have to replace yours, i don't think its worth selling the Pro Lites if they were yours and buying a DV1 set for the sake of it but if your going to buy new pro lites i would say it's worth the extra.
The base gun gets more or less universal appraisal, the clear gun seems very much Marmite, i get on fine with both, the finish is excellent on both, some find the clear too slow and the finish too flat , if that's the case the C2 cap may be better, it's a slightly fatter shorter pattern so wets up a bit more so speeds it up, I personally like the C1 cap
@@peteshobbies5383 Thanks bud I've done some research but nothing better than hands on advice 😊😊
Good comparison video! Can you do a video on the “turn table style” gas tank stand?

Great video. Really enjoyed it.
Cheers bud 👍
They both give a really nice finish, out of curiosity… talking budget guns, which is better between a FLG 5 / the SprayIt n the Kawami 4 ? Love ur videos, very informative !
Hi James, never used a SprayIt but Kiwami4 is streets ahead of the FLG5, don't forget the ANI F160, cheaper and really good
Good one mate.
Thanks Mate 👍
Hi Pete. I have a Devilbiss compact mini COMM-HS1-12 HVLP 1.2 mm Fluid Nozzle. and I want to make it 1.0mm. These are the parts that the manual marks me to make it 1.0: Devilbiss Compact Mini - Needle - 0.8 / 1.0 (COMM-300-0810) and Devilbiss Compact Mini - Fluid Nozzle - 1.0 (COMM-200-10). you have idea where I can get them. or you know if the parts of another gun model are compatible. thanks for your attention. and congratulations excellent videos.
Hi Shava, we in Europe don't get that particular spraygun but it looks exactly the same as a Sri Pro mini gun we get over here so i suspect the parts will fit but i don't know for sure, sorry, sprayguns direct would be a good place for parts but obviously it's an expensive mistake if they don't fit, sorry i can't help more
@@peteshobbies5383 Thanks. I found a page where they have the parts that the manual marks, I will order them and I will tell you how it turned out, greetings
Yes , please do, cheers 👍
Hi Pete,
Bit off topic, but I’ve just picked up a near new gti pro lite 1.2 TE20.
Can you point me in the right direction for suppliers of the paints/clear coats you use and maybe where I could source a turntable?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
All the best
Gren
Hi Gren, this is a video showing you what I used from a few years ago. Just look up Lazy Susan on eBay or Aliexpress, and you'll be good to go.
czcams.com/video/MwcFe_PxbMc/video.html
In the past, I have got paint from Nuagane.co.uk and Advanced paint, also on ebay here,
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-PACK-2K-Car-Body-Paint-BASECOAT-COLOUR-MIXED-TO-CODE-Metallic-pearl-Spraying-/350695888118?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p4429486.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
These days I have my own mini paint mixing scheme so make stuff up as I need.
Clear coats I buy off ebay, normally when they have a 15 or 20% coupon off, normally Marlow paints on Ebay or MDA Bitec on Ebay, hope that helps
Forgot to say congratulations on the new gun. It would be interesting to hear what you think 👍

Many thanks for the info Pete.
Keep pumping out those videos… they are great mate!
You're welcome, mate. Good to hear you're excited about using the Pro lite, I still get excited when I get another gun, so I understand the feeling 😀, Keep us posted 👍
Pete I love your videos. I’m currently using a pro lite for wet on wet primer with a 1.2. I’m trying to achieve as flat of a finish as I can. Currently I’m using the TE10 air cap. I have the TE20 as well. Would you recommend I switch?
Hi mate, I've never used a Pro Lite for WOW primer but i would say the TE10, i know someone that uses a pro lite for exactly that and he uses a T110 because it gives the flatter finish of all the caps
@@peteshobbies5383 would you choose an iwata w400 wbx or may be a kiwami4 wbx for that purpose?
The W400 WBX and Kiwami4 WBX, as you probably know, spray the same, they do normally atomise finer so i would say they would be very good for your requirements but I've never used one for WOW so can't say for sure, I would be surprised if they didn't give you a really flat finish
@@peteshobbies5383 I love that you always respond. Thank you.
Your welcome mate, it's the least i can do if you've taken the time to watch the videos and comment, I genuinely enjoy mucking about with all this stuff and exchanging views with you guys is quite satisfying, long may it continue 😀 👍
Hi Pete is the pro light hvlp? How big is your compressor dose it keep up I understand you spraying small stuff like bike parts tho, brilliant video m8 👍
Hi Lee, neither of the two caps here are HVLP, Devilbiss call them trans tech, the TE20 uses more air than the T110 and TE10, in fact it uses the most of all the caps bar the HV30 which is HVLP.
I have 2 compressors linked, they are both 14.5 cfm and either will keep up with these caps, if ever i need more i can have the two together but i don't normally need that much
@@peteshobbies5383 maybe one day you could do a video on your compressor set up Pete think it would help loads of folks cheers mate

So the T10 and 1.2 cap is for clear? And T20 1.3 for base?
Hi Gregory, sorry, I've only just seen this, no, the normal base set up is TE10 and 1.2 and the normal clear setup is TE20 1.3, apologies for not answering earlier, sometimes these questions don't come up on the feed but then appear as unanswered in the home page a month later, most odd, cheers mate 👍
Hi, do you think a 200l 2.2kw compressor is big enough for the T20 cap? I’m using the ANI R160 mini at the moment, but I need a bigger gun as my projects evolved. I’m planning to purchase a GTI P Lite.
Many thanks
Vilmos
Hi Vilmos, yes, it should be fine, i presume as it's 2.2kw it's around 14CFM so around 10CFM free air delivery?
Good Vidio,,
Mr, can you review meiji spraygun, like f110 t, finer spot, finer plus! thanks Mr.
Hi Mate, unfortunately I don't have any Meiji sprayguns so cant review them, hopefully that will change one day, cheers 👍
OK I just got the 905044 pro lite. It came with 1.2 1.3 1.4 and te10 and te20 caps. With devilbiss do you change needles for each cap or tip like on cheaper guns?
Hi Gregory, the needle is the same for all three tips you mentioned so you don't need to change it
Hi Pete, just wondering how you rate the te10 vs the t110 cap for clear coat? Seen a lot of youtube painters saying its a great cap for clear. I think the te20 would be a hoser for me but. I've heard you say the t110 is painfully slow. Thanks
Hi David, knowing now that you prefer a slower gun i would say you will be ok with the T110, i would definitely go for that over the TE10 as it lays clear flatter, the TE10 is a basecoat cap really and very good at that, they are both relatively slow but sound exactly what you would like.
I didn't think they were available in the US but i guess you can import one or maybe it's only certain states, one guy i was talking to was from California and I'm sure he said they can't get them or maybe can't use them, not sure
@@peteshobbies5383 thanks Pete. My quest continues. I'll give the prolite with a t110 cap a go. BTW, I sold the Sagola for more than I paid for it but ebay fees will take their toll . Keep up the great work !
i know this old vid but please help to get right gun for painting whole car with glass flat finish. dont like slow guns. have a iwata lph400 1.4 and sagola dvr clear 1.3xl for clear. looking at prolite now. med solids sometimes high solids. all my customers want glass finishes. whats your recommendation? thanks
Hi buddy, I presume you have the Sagola 4600 1.3XL DVR Clear gun?, if so, it is normally very good and capable of good flat finishes.
In my opinion, the Sagola is a better clear gun than the Pro lite, although Pro Lite is more universal, the T110 cap gives the best finish with a 1.2 tip but that would be too slow for you after the Sagola.
The Walcom Carbonio with an MP cap is very, very good but expensive, and I question the build quality for something so expensive they now make an aluminium version, which may be better.

I am a beginner at spraying and have done a few small projects now however i am all self taught mainly by you tube. i was wondering if you fancy giving me a days training as i just want to understand what i'm doing right and wrong. I don't really want to go on a big coarse with a group of people and as i work in my shed doing it as a hobby for friends i thought i had a similar working environment as you. I have a LPH 80 and a Devibiss pro lite. Regards Scott
Hi Scott. Sorry but i can't really. with all the health legislation etc it's just not practical, I appreciate your situation though, are you having problems then? , if so what ?

@@peteshobbies5383 one question for you maybe a bit of a silly one but anyway.
i have a pro lite with a T110 cap and a 1.3 tip if i want a 1.2 tip do i have to change the hole set or do i just by a 1.2 needle. Been looking through videos but never seems to be explained. Regards Scott

Hi Pete! Will GTI 110 trans tech air cap is same as T110? And will fit on GTI Pro Lite?

Hi 👋 Can i use for primer Te20 1.8mm?
Hi Marjo, Yes, that would work. The normal cap is a PR10, but the TE20 would work ok 👍
Whats the difference in the T110 and t10?
Hi Gregory, the T110 is a cap normally used for clearcoat, the TE10 is normally for basecoat
I am late here but have you ever used the 7E7 cap
Hi buddy, no I haven't, that's a GPG cap which, as far as I know don't fit the Pro Lite, the GPG is normally a cheaper spray gun although still good
@@peteshobbies5383 I will have contact Devilbiss, the GPG has a bottom adjustment which mine does not.
The old Tekna Copper comes with the 7E7 air cap. It was a very good clear gun.
@@peteshobbies5383 Hello Pete. I have a Wider 4L, a Sagola 4600 Extreme, Tekna Prolite, Sata 3000 RP and many more spray guns. I work for a restoration shop. No matter what I do, I still have some orange peel. They told me to buy a Devilbiss DV1. Do you think the DV1 will be able to get a super flat finish compared to the 4600 Xtreme or the Wider 4L? Thanks
Hi Rigal, No, I don't think a DV1 will give you a better finish than the guns you already have, which incidentally are excellent.
You will always get a degree of orange peel with any gun, but it should be possible to get a very, very good finish straight off the gun.
Have you tried experimenting with different clear coats? , some flow better than others.
If it is difficult for me to know how bad the orange peel you are getting is, obviously air pressure, speed, distance, and temperature all have a bearing on the final results so maybe there is something else you could do to help reduce the peel
