    Shannon is 1000% correct about Ben. He gets to publicly criticize his teammates and he never gets reprimanded for it by the Steelers front office. Ben makes regular appearances on a radio show and throws his teammates under the bus. At some point if you're AB you get tired of the double standard. Ben needs to be held accountable for his actions as much as anyone else on the team. Even more so since he's the franchise quarterback.

    • @mca217
      @mca217 Před 5 lety +13

      @Steez OnyahMomma I understand that but Ben's comments are causing discord in the locker. Instead of pointing the finger at everyone else he needs to look in the mirror first. I'm not saying that AB hasn't caused problems as well but if Ben were more accountable this riff between he and AB could be resolved without having to trade a future hall of fame WR.

    Antonio didn't get secret info to not report. Everyone mentions trying to reach him leaving after a blowup and him not responding. The last thing they heard was a couple of hours before the game he showed up "ready" to go. Tomlin said to stand on the sidelines. He could have put on warm up gear to sell the knee issue story but he showed in a mink suit and left at halftime.
    Next he made sure to take a shot at everyone one in the organization with every means he had. That doesn't sound like a miscommunication about being asked to leave.

    Everyone wants to point the finger at someone: AB, Ben, Tomlin, Rooney, Bell... but at the end of the day it’s honestly just a sad situation because Ben and AB had an amazing chemistry on the field. while their talent constantly gets praise, their timing, ability to read defenses and overall awareness and knowledge of the game is often not mentioned. The fact of the matter is, JuJu is great but won’t be the same as AB and it’s also likely that AB won’t click exactly the same with another QB. While I don’t think it’s great that Ben called him out publicly I actually see what he means. Maybe it’s not right to do and not great leadership but it has to be incredibly frustrating when you have arguably the best WR in the league and he’s not where he’s supposed to be on plays that cost the team the game. People don’t understand that throwing an interception is not always the sole fault of the QB but a miscommunication and a breakdown of the play. All in all, it’s a very complicated and sad situation and pointing fingers is not going to solve any problems. It will definitely be an interesting off season.

    Media keeps bringing up how much dead money Pitt would have to eat if they trade AB, but it is roughly the same amount if they keep him on the active roster for next season. Then that dead money would be cleared after that one season. I'm not saying they should or should not trade him, but the argument of the dead money seems to me less of an issue then it is being made out to be. If I were a GM wanting to move on from AB because I felt he was bad for my locker room I would rather eat a one time deal (plus gain whatever assets I could get in a trade) then keep him in the locker room and pay him the extra $19/$20M for the next three years.

    As a longtime Steeler fan, there is nothing great about playing in Pittsburgh if you’re an all-pro. The owners are cheap and stubborn, the local media is racist, the team has a history of turning it’s back on its all-pros, and most most disappointing is the organization’s tolerance of Big Ben throwing his teammates under the bus to cover up for his own poor play, especially in big games or games against weak opponents. AB already has his money, his NFL records, and his fame. If the Steelers refuse to muzzle Big Ben, then I don’t blame AB for wanting to leave. #first ballot HOF.

    Shannon said it. Expect the Steelers to win next year, and from my view here in Pittsburgh, this isn't a new situation. This franchise had controversy before the 1st title. Our local press knows what to drum up and what to hide. This will play in the Steelers favor regardless. I like AB and Le'Veon. I wish them well, and still wish them here. However, if every side can win, it's a business.

    Why is it "impossible" for AB to realize that staying with the Steelers is possibly the best outcome for he's personal life in general...? If he would come-out and just be the bigger man (right or wrong) and just say something like "I believe we are all in a journey of self developmental and I've made great accomplishment as elite athlete and I'm confident I will do that as a man through my actions and words. Steeler Nation is my home and there's nothing more that I would love and I say love to "help" bring and add another Lombardi Trophy to our home and place it on our mantel ..." He could finish he's carry with the Steelers and secure his legacy in a positive way in every aspect, especially in the $$$ field. We all for the most part look at professional athletes as being over paid and spoiled with chips on their shoulders. If AB shows true grit and humility he would be a hero to his teammates and to the common man in the street. The opposite of this is that he could be traded to the Jets to a quarterback that can give him the ball... And that would be a true shame and a waste of unbelievable talent !!! Here's to AB making the right choice for himself and for Steeler Nation !

    When it comes down to it, and when he has to, even when he doesn't want to, whoever it is about, Shannon Sharpe will tell you the truth. Shannon is right about AB and Big Ben. He harshly criticizes AB for his selfishness and Big Ben for publicly calling out his teammates' mistakes and rarely taking responsibility.

    Exactly, dawg ... They're front-office and head coach Mike Brown needs to be analyzed - From the debacle with Bell to this Debacle with A.B ... As the GM, I would care less if A.B misses 2 days of practice for the last game of the season, because it really does not matter who lines up in front of him to defend him, because A.B. is the best Receiver in the league and is one of only a handful that can dominate a game, and single handedly carry his team on his back to get the "W." As long as the O.C. calls plays to put A.B in position to make plays, he'll do his job!!! That was foolish not playing A.B. I that season finale!!!

    Shannon is right about Ben...he throws his teammates under the bus when he blatantly is at fault. Watch the tapes...the int in Denver was his fault, never should have thrown it. AB was never open on that route. Same thing with int at end of NE game in 17' AND watch SB 45...Ben missed several throws that cost us the title.

Thats like saying obj is who he is because of eli manning lol. these guys are special talents. they are playmakers capable of taking a 10 yard slant route and turning it into a 70 yard touch down pass at any given time. all you do is get the ball in their hands and they'll do the rest. be careful what you wish for. guys like that dont come around to often..

I don't think it's wrong to correct them in that manner not going to the press and doing it that's another matter but even screaming at somebody for not doing your job specially when they're not showing up at meetings or not showing up at when the offense is being installed not showing up for practice Yeah I'd be angry when as a result you ran the wrong route.

Why is it that Ben is staying and players like; Wallace, Bell, Brown, Holmes and Sanders, etc are exiting? Just saying. Ben has overstayed is durability and his ability. Ben should be cut loose and a first round draft of a quarterback.
