    That try line defence by Wasps was really impressive. Two sides that are a lot closer than their league positions would suggest.

    Feel really sorry for Young Patrick Harrison only 19 years old thrown in at the deep end only days after signing for the club his first game as a professional rugby player and he has to throw a line out to potentially win the game against one of the best teams in Europe. Wasps have got far too many backs that are either massively overrated or just not very good in defence. If you're a small 12 like Gopperth then you have to put your body on the line, I've just watched Simmonds run through him like he wasn't there

    • @sockwithaticket
      @sockwithaticket Před 2 lety

      38 year old Jimmy Gopperth is filling in at the moment because we're missing Odogwu, Feikitoa and Spink which pushes Le Bourgeois out to 13. He's been a very good player for us, but this is the season we were hoping to phase him out. Unfortunately, the injury situation isn't permitting that at the moment.
      Bigger, more sprightly players than him been blasted through by Simmonds at that sort of range.

    Bullshit card decision, that

  • @andrewp1075
    @andrewp1075 Před 2 lety +4

    Player protection and improving tackle technique are both very important...but I think the TMO got unnecessarily involved in Bassett's yellow card.
    If the Exeter player had caught that ball there would have been no yellow card. So it's unfair for the tackler to get punished for the attacking players mistake. No way Bassett can change his tackle height in a split second....a split second in which the attacking player dipped his head to pick up the ball he dropped, but a split second viewed in super slo-mo which gives an unrealistic perception of the incident to the TMO. More common sense is needed from this quick on the draw TMOs.

    • @M011y.
      @M011y. Před 2 lety +2

      That tackle was never gonna be the correct height. The wasps player wasn’t dipping at all and therefore gave himself no leeway for any slight change in height. The whole aim right now is to get players to always aim to tackel lower so that there’s less chance of things like this happening.
