    Squeeze the pieces to make it easier to pry the caps off. The flex will give you enough space to get a fingernail in.
    EDIT: Easier way - Do a half slice and reach into the centre - the corner of the medium equator caps (the FR/BL cap) should be quite easy to pry on. Then you can run your fingernail or tool along the edge to reach the long equator caps.

    So... Where the hell do i place the washer?? 😂 I disassembled the cube in order to see what magnets it had, cause they seemed a bit weaker than desired to me, and the cube fell appart so fast i couldnt notice where it all was placed by manufacturer, and after 1h and having tried all the positions i could think of for the washer, i still cant screw it back up again! I feel so intrigued, yet so dumb at the same time!... Freakin hell, i even messed around with so many 2*2s-5*5s before too, and still cant wrap my head around this one!

    In corner you cut much more plastic on the right side, a on the left much less. Is it good to cut this plastic in corner symmetrically, or on right much more plastic? How about cube speed after this mod? Because when you cut plastic, it will be rougher, and the friction will increase. Does this cube has a big slack after this corner cutting and Bmode? Because sq1 cannot have big looses, and also edges pops and locks in shape?

    • @CubeMasterYT
      @CubeMasterYT  Před 5 lety

      If you do use my mod, it has to be symmetrical, my piece was for demonstration purposes only. Either way, if you choose to do the mod, make sure to cut very little plastic off otherwise you can end up with problems which I address in a video I posted after this one. Speed is pretty much the exact same with the mod and unless you cut off too much plastic, and stability might get just a bit worse. So overall, the B mod helps cornercutting very little but hurts pretty much nothing in the cube, while my mod increases forward cornercutting by quite a bit (depending on how much you cut off) but ends up making it less stable. My main just has the B mod as I found my mod too time consuming and too hard to make perfect in terms of correct amount cut off and consistency, but you can choose which mods to use at your own risk :)

    So I just got my first yuxin square 1 and the U and D moves are slow is this supposed to be normal for square 1 cubes?

    • @CubeMasterYT
      @CubeMasterYT  Před 5 lety

      Yes, usually the slice is faster than the top and bottom layers. I think this is actually good because with the slice you are always doing R2 which is more movement than the usual U or D you do on the top or bottom layer, which means the slice needs more speed and the top and bottom layers need less of it.

      Just take note that the nut on the left side of the cube can start popping out but if you remove that long equator cap as well before adjusting the screw, you should be fine. Remember the easiest way to remove the long equator caps is to first remove the medium-sized caps (start on the rounded corners first).

      I tried adding magnets to the edges yesterday and found the magnetic pull far too strong without extra magnets for the slice, so ended up removing them. Four had to be cut out of the slots (I used wire cutters) due to inconsistent variation in my cheap 4x1mm magnets. If you want to experiment with this, I'd suggest using even smaller magnets first, such as 3x1mm so you have an easier time with removing them should they not work out. Use a putty Blu Tack to hold them in place; glue shouldn't be necessary, but if you do use glue, probably something weak like PVC craft/wood glue should be sufficient since the slots are there.

      The best thing to do is probably to keep the cube on tighter tensions than usual, so the mod does not affect the stability. Great video! Im really hesitant to mod things, I botched up a shengshou pyraminx back in the day. Can you elaborate on how to mod the corner (Your mod)?
    Also, is the corner in your video only modded on one side? Or is the trim only supposed to be on one side?

    • @CubeMasterYT
      @CubeMasterYT  Před 5 lety

      It should be done on both sides, I only did one side as a test. For the mod, you pretty much cut off a part of the corner torpedo to make it look like mine in the video. I just used a knife and cut it out normally. If you are hesitant to mod things, this mod might not be the best. The mod makes the forward cornercutting of the corners significantly better while sacrificing a bit stability. However, it will take a while and you can risk damaging the cube. The mod is not necessary to make the cube good, but it is helpful for people who are really inaccurate turners who would actually use this extra cornercutting.
