  • Hey guys welcome to my channel !!
I recently graduated from doing the LLB Bachelor of Laws Undergraduate course at university and I am now currently studying the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) part-time at a postgraduate level at law school. I want to share with you my journey and my preparation work for classes such as advocacy, in hope that it can provide an insight and help others out there in similar positions.
When I have looked on youtube for help and tips on videos such as this I have not been in luck to find much, as I have noticed not many people upload videos like this.
So I have decided that I will be uploading videos like the above on here to try and help law students, whether you are studying the LLB undergrad or the GDL or the BPTC or LPC. Whether your goal is to become a barrister or solicitor, or if you are just not sure as yet and want to get some ideas as to what it is like, well I am here to do my part and try and help in some way or the other.
This video was my first my preparation for my first Advocacy class for a 'Plea in Mitigation'. For those who are experienced and are practicing may notice some flaws (many flaws actually lol), however, that is ok and I want to show whoever who watches this that we will make mistakes. In fact we need to make mistakes in order to learn and grow. However, I won't completely knock myself as I did win the first round of the external mooting competition at my university lol!
Though, let me just put out there that mooting at undergrad level at univeristy and advocacy classes at law school are on completely different levels! I was told there was a lot I needed to improve on when I presented this in my advocacy class, but I am at a good starting point lol.
My next Advocacy class is for a 'Bail Application' and hopefully I can share the next one with you and you can see the improvements I make over the next few years of studying the BPTC. Though even when I do graduate there is still so much to learn and you can never know enough! I am always seeking to learn more and so should you!
Make sure to subscribe to my channel and turn your notifications on so you know when I will be uploading my next videos 😬
Thank you all in advance for the love and support and hopefully, I can help you all in some way!

If you’re not a member of THEIR private legal society [BAR] why does any of THEIR nonsense apply to you ?

Do you every look back at this and see how horrible it was. If this was in court I'm sure you lost.

That isn't quite nice is it? but thanks for your feedback. I do look back actually and each time I have slowly improved. As you can see from the title of the video it was my first attempt for my first official advocacy class. And for your information my teacher has expressed how much I have improved throughout the year.
This is why we "practice" and "learn" before we go to court, I still have a whole year left of practice before I even start pupilage, so I have enough time to prepare thank you.
Out of curiosity are you a barrister then? Do you know what it is like and how this is a lot harder than it may look?
Anyway I only share these to help others as I know I would of loved the help but can never find any, and also to share my journey to the bar 😊

@@mckenzielaw2940 don't mean to sound rude. Its good you can look back and see how you improved. As for me I'm used to speaking publicly and performing in front of crowd. So voice projection and sounding confident is powerful and important. Especially if you're being paid to represent someone and potential save their "life". Dont take it personally. Good to see you trying👍

Good for you Mckenzie, it does take a lot to plea in mitigation. I truly hope sunnydayz is not a Barrister!
