  • Hello & Welcome to milestone video 1375 of Harnetty Railways
In this video we have a jammed packed video for you all featuring 6 steam locomotives within a 7 day period from Sunday June 2nd through to Saturday June 8th.
We start on the Sunday on The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway during their Blue Timetable operations as we see 2 steam locos operating.
We capture the pair at the popular viewing gallery south of Haworth in beautiful afternoon sunshine.
We 1st see Ivatt 2-6-2 tank 41241 Mickey Mouse while working the 5 coach train a rake of matching liveried MK1's in maroon.
The 2nd loco we see is BR Standard 4 4-6-0 75078 working a mix rake of 6 coaches including a Pullman car which on the day of our visit 75078 was working the afternoon Cream Tea special.
We move onto Loco number 3 as we see Locomotive Services Group's West Country Bulleid Pacific 34046 Braunton during a 2 day period with The Monday working a private charter steam hauled from Chester to York & return outward via Diggle & Saddleworth & return via the calder valley.
Originally the private charter would have been hauled by The Mainline Steam Tribal Chief SNGLT's 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley however when the charter got rerouted the A4 was out of gauge so Braunton who was Gresley's understudy stepped in.
We start at Newton-Le-Willows as we see Braunton pick up speed after going round the curve at Earlestown.
We next see Braunton at Slathwaite between Marsden & Hudderfield as we see Braunton come round the S curve as he heads East.
We overtake Braunton at Colton Junction just south of York and we got in front just enough time to see Braunton depart York Station with the stock move to York North Yard for servicing.
For the return run we see Braunton climbing at Todmerdon as he heads West towards Manchester on The Calder Valley.
A few days later we catch up with Braunton again this time working Saphos Trains's The Lakelander from Preston to Carlisle via Shap.
We start at Wigan North Western as we see the bulleid head north with support coach to Preston were he would take over from diesel haulage which was bringing the train from Leeds earlier that morning.
We catch up with Braunton as Penrith at the north end of the station as we see the Bulleid come round the curve heading for Carlisle.
We now move onto loco number 4 in this program as we see West Coast Railway Battle of Britain 34067 Tangmere as she 1st works West Coast Railways's The Dalesman the 1st 1 of 2024 out & back over The Settle & Carlisle from Hellifield.
We 1st see Tangmere at Hellifield as we see her arrive with Support Coach from Carnforth 10A in readiness to take over from diesel haulage which was bringing the train from York earlier that morning.
We next see Tangmere at Ribblehead viaduct as we see her crossing over the viaduct nicely in the sun as she heads north.
We next see Tangmere at Carlisle as we see the stock move pull into the station to pick up her passengers ready for the return run note the head lamp code as on this day marked The 80th Anniversary of D-Day 80 years on & this was a great tribute from The Carnforth 10A team before we see Tangmere depart for Hellifield.
We catch up with her again a few days later as we see her pass Penrith at the north end of the station working her annual Northern Belle working.
We move onto Loco number 5 staying with West Coast Railways this time seeing for the 1st time this year rebuilt Merchant Navy bulleid pacific & the flagship loco of the company 35018 British India Line as he works a stock move from Carnforth 10A to Southall WCRC.
This was in readiness to take part in what was the biggest gathering of Bulleid Pacifics in the preservation era The Swanage Railway's Stricly Bulleid's 2 Steam Gala of 8 bulleid pacifics.
We start our race against BIL at Lancaster in the pouring rain as he heads south on the up fast line with 7 coaches in tow.
We catch up with the loco at Preston before seeing him off as we next overtake BIL at Balshaw Lane.
We next see BIL passing through Warrington Bank Quay & overtake the bulleid again at Acton Bridge before arriving into Crewe to see the bulleid roll in to take on water & a driver change.
It was here at Crewe we have a gd look round the loco in great detail including footplate access.
Our final overtake of BIL is at Crewe Basford Hall before we end our rave against BIL at Rugeley Trent Valley as we see BIL head south on the slow line.
Our final loco we see in this program is Tyseley's flagship loco BR built Castle 7029 Clun Castle as she works Vintage Trains's The Ffestiniog Express.
We start at Llandudno Junction as we see her at close quarters while she was getting serviced while the train went down The Conway Valley Branch.
We end this milestone video at Abergele in Pensarn as we see the castle in fine fettle doing 73mph.

Loved seeing the Standard 4 tender engine and Clun Castle best of all. I'm not keen on the Mickey Mouse tank engine, yet he does have a certain charm about him.

Fantastic work Richard, seems like you've been extremely busy this last week. Great to see you for 35018 and a shame I coudn't join you at Abergele for 7029 as it looked fantastic. Regards, Dan
