As a retired heavy equipment mechanic I really enjoy your videos. It’s not for the mechanical work, hell I refuse a ton of work as my back is trashed and honestly my pension is pretty good. What I like is knowing a old school mechanic that isn’t afraid to work on anything is still out there. You do a great job of keeping up on the new technology but still smile when a old mechanical piece of equipment needs some love. It’s refreshing to watch your videos.

Great video. I really enjoy it when you go into detail explaining the why you do things the way you do. It makes sense to this old fart who is just learning the "why for" on the newest diesels. It is mind boggling to me how far they have gone with the electronic controls.
Also, I followed your advice and bought a new 1/2 drive super-duper Milwaukee Impact. I have had a Free-Spin Hub conversion kit sitting here for my '07 Dodge ram 3500 4x4 and a couple weeks ago I had some help so we installed it. That impact is great.

VGT's are great until they fall apart! Seen a lot of them come apart, but the failure you found here isn't real common. You'll have it back planting in quick it looks like. At least an inframe on these is fairly easy to access everything. Thanks for the video. Trim codes electronically flow balance the injectors rather than having to physically shim the nozzle or something on old school stuff. I've found most times you can get away without entering the new trim codes. But if you get one really high or low flowing injector you can have a problem, but it doesn't happen often.

Lubrication drastically increases the tension on the bolt if torqued to the normal dry spec.
