- Time to have fun with a little pair of Baby's First Mary Jane Booties! These give you a fabulous base for a pair of cutie patootie as-is booties, or deck them out with your most adorable embellishments!

Adjustment made in written pattern for left shoe only!
Upper portion of left shoe only:
Round 3 - Chain 1
1. sc in next 10 stitches starting with join space
2. skip 1 st, ext sc in next Repeat ** for a total of 7 ext sc
3. skip 1 stitch, sc in last 11 stitches. Join (24 total stitches)
Round 4 - Chain 1
1. sc into 10 stitches beginning with join space
2. *skip 1, hdc in nxt*, Repeat ** 2 more times for a total of 3 hdc
3. skip next st, sc into next 11 stitches. Join
Round 5 - Chain 1
1. slip into nxt 16 stitches beginning with join space
2. chain 14, slip into 6th chain from hook & ea chain after until you reach bottom of chain.
3. after working your last chain, slip back into the stitch at shoe, and
continue to slip stitch into remaining 8 stitches in round. Join . Finish off. (24 Total Stitches)

I haven't worn glasses for about 5 yrs now because of this video! I did it every morning for about 6 months. Second day I couldn't wear my glasses to get to work. Had to take them off to see. I was nearsighted & have astigmatism. It's truly amazing! I'm grateful!!!😊

I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. 5 years ago i made this pattern and I had made blankets before but I had never followed a pattern. I would pick up the pattern books in the store and it looked like Greek to me so foreign and made no sense. Because of this one video you changed my life. I know how to crochet, but for some reason when I tried making baby shoes, I always seemed to get stuck in certain areas of the instructions. I've been trying several of my patterns but no luck. So I was sitting in front of my laptop and decided to look on CZcams. and there you were. I'm having a baby shower for my daughter in law this Sunday and I so wanted to add crochet booties to my crochet afghan and quilted quilts as a gift. Thanks to your EXCELLENT demonstration and directions, I DID IT! Thanks again.

This is the BEST video for baby shoes ! It was so easy and quick ! Your tutorial was great very easy to follow. I came across this yesterday and i made 5 pair .I used hobby lobby "I love this yarn" and I also made a pair with red heart super saver . Although red heart super saver isn't the softest, it made for a good shoe as it was a little stiffer , firmer , I'm not a fan of red heart but i like how the shoes came out and i will use again . Hobby lobby "I love this yarn " is softer and also made a nice shoe . I used an F hook and these yarns and made newborn and 6-9 month size . I'm now going to try cotton . I'm also going to try using a G hook just to get newborn size a tad bigger .... i also hot glued a little tiny rosebud flower into the top of the shoe , ADORABLE! Thanks again for this amazing tutorial... sorry for the long post but I just thought I'd give some information on what worked for me to help others out

First i 'll like to thank you for your time & patients! I don't even know if i can call my self a real beginner cause i never crochet anything but like a little sheet like just to practice. This wasn't the first baby bootie video I've had a look at but I'm so glad I did come across it - the pattern and instructions were really easy and simple. I even surprised myself with sticking and actually finishing a pair of booties - I normally give up after 5 mins. OMG I absolutely hated doing booties/slippers etc. After the first one I never really completed the second. But for some reason I was able to follow along with this video and the instructions for the second - it was just so easy to understand. I usually prefer the video then to reading a pattern but this time round it was a breeze. Thank you so much. In 4 hours or less I've made both new born and then the next size up. I know that this is a really old video, but I am just RE-learning how to crochet, and teaching myself to do booties (I never did them before). I had lots of fun making this's specific bootie for my 2_1/2 month old baby girl. I used red Heart Super Saver in the color Baby Pink and it turned out exquisite!!!!! I also used a sizeH/8-5.00MM hook and it fit her perfectly. Thank You very much for this cute free pattern, I hope you make more video projects soon :D
