that movie is completely inacurate though, it is honestly a huge misrepresentation, especially regarding how europe is portrayed as some grey and backwards place, this was during the peek karolingian renaisance, the movie is litterally portraying medieval europe the way classical history obsessed historians did in the 18th and 19th centuries, (to a minor extent also in the early 20th century)

Cool video, but really shows nothing about how a Christian force that was outnumbered by Saladin’s Muslim force 7 to 1 ended up the victors.
The battle of Montgisard in 1177 was Saladin’s first attempt to retake the Holy Land and Jerusalem after the First Crusade in 1095. Saladin, always the master strategist, waited for the main Christian force to move north to attack Muslim encroachments in the area of Tyre (modern day Lebanon). Saladin moved north up the coast from Egypt, and the Crusaders moved west from Jerusalem toward the coast and the walled city of Ascalon. Since the main Crusader force and its leadership was no longer in the area, leadership fell to the 16-year-old invalid King of Jerusalem, Baldwin IV. Baldwin suffered from Leprosy and was carried on a sedan chair up until the battle. Baldwin, who was being advised by the Knights Templar commander, planned to meet Saladin outside Ascalon. Upon seeing the how large the Muslim force was they retreated behind the fortress walls of Ascalon. It is here Saladin made a critical mistake. Saladin assumed the Crusader force was not a threat and simply bypassed Ascalon, heading east toward Jerusalem. Once the Muslim force had moved away, the Crusaders came out of their defensive position in the city, formed up to pursue. Saladin force was large, slow, and became spread out along the road that ran east toward Jerusalem. The smaller Crusader force could move quicker and caught up with rear of the Muslim force around modern day Ramala. When the Crusaders made contact and advanced, two thirds of the Saladin’s forces were behind a hill that would be named “Montgisard” by the Crusaders after the battle. The Crusader force had taken the Muslim Army by complete surprise, and launched their attack before Saladin could form up into a defensive position. The Crusader infantry of 3,000 attacked down the road, while the Crusader calvary of 1,000, including 400 actual Knights, fell on the column flanks. The Leper King Baldwin, that had been physically tied to his horse, attacked with calvary force. The forces that Saladin could move back over the hill arrived on the battlefield disorganized, without a plan, and quickly attacked the Crusader force in fractured groups rather than waiting for all the available forces to form up. After about two hours the Muslim force had totally collapsed, and was in full retreat toward Egypt. As in the battle, Saladin’s army retreated in fractured groups without cohesion. Saladin barely escaped capture by riding away on a “Racing Camel”. Over the next couple of weeks as the Muslim army retreated it was set upon by Tribes of Bedouin. Bedouins would attack and raid regardless if you were Muslim or Christian. This retreat resulted in about the same number of causalities as from the battle for the Muslim Army. Only about 15 to 20% of Saladin’s original force was able to make it back to Egypt.
The Battle of Montgisard resulted in a Muslim Army being almost annihilated, and put off the eventual Muslim retaking of Jerusalem by 10 years. All things considered; Saladin was brilliant commander. Even after such a complete military defeat, he still remained in power as the commanding General of a unified Muslim Army. Saladin never forgot the lessens learned a Montgisard, and used this to better prepare the next Muslim Army that would destroy the main Crusader Army at Hattin and then force a conditional surrender of Jerusalem.
Montgisard also may have in-avertedly helped in the eventual defeat of the Crusader force at Hattin in 1187. This victory was so complete that it reinforced the ridiculous idea that “God loves us more, therefore we can’t be defeated” attitude in the Crusader leadership.

One of the reasons I’m not religious. It’s like declaring war and marching an army upon a son of a father just because his father isn’t the same as mine. It still happens today, no point in depressing the truth, because we must learn from it and not repeat it.

All battlefields are terrible but can you imagine being in the middle of one of these with shield and sword? Hour after hour of hacking, smashing, splitting and destroying. The mountains of entrails, limbs and heads just...around. The amount of blood and mud enough to drown a horse in. Absolute chaos.

I haven't played this game yet ,but I find it very epic .I used to have rome 1 total war ....ancient old great years :d ..But this is 500000 greater than before . Now I just want to understand this, the fire effects inside this video are from catapults ? Because they give a very nice vision effect inside these ancient battles like the blood effects !

Well I'm using some graphic mods like Attila Flora HD and Aztec Graphics, also Gemfx (a tool for graphics) is an important one. I'm capturing all of these scenes over and over till I get what I want, then editing. Also I'm using Nvidia's record mode for it.
