    Polished marble couldn't have been cheap and was all probably imported. I'm surprised those photos haven't disentegrated with the humidity and gotten moldy.

    Even with all the dirt and debris, the pictures stay in good condition, as long as thy stay dry. While the walls show moisture, the pictures are somewhat protected by the frame and glass, except for the bottom two. I wonder if the slight vaulted ceiling is the cause of water leaking, as the first Mausoleum had a flat ceiling, so the roof could be better at keeping out the water?
    WOW! That mausoleum with Janet O'Conner, her urn was only 11 years old, and it was decayed that much?? It must be from no protection from the elements, and heat and cold cycles? Very unusual. The Rudolf Silvergurg urn had the title of a Hawaiian song at the bottom, Aita Pea Pea, Brings back memories of the Tiki craze!
    The ceiling of the Brown family, the one piece of missing marble was not a sign of it falling down, just that they skimped on the glue holding it in place, as the roof is concrete.
    Thank you Tony, for showing the ceilings! I just love seeing the entire structure when I can!

    You just never know what you'll come across and what the preservation will be! It's truly amazing to find some things in such a good shape. Really nice day. Great walk Tony.

    Adolph was also a Mason.
    What a beautiful day there! Wonderful old cemetery. Looks like very wealthy families there. Great to see the Schilling family photos. Seems like a lot of German families were in the area.
    Someone’s favorite chair had to be buried with them.
    Hear the crows in the background! Crows are scavengers,and so he may have had a goody in the grass.
    We’re finally getting spring/summer weather here in Massachusetts.

    The management needs to replace that window, at least with a plain window. I bet it was a beautiful stained glass one originally.

      Family is responsible, not the cemetery. Perpetual care is for maintaining the grounds not the Mausoleum, crypts headstones, etc.

    • @CryptDoor
      @CryptDoor  Před měsícem

      @terrymyers699 yes I’ve been told that those are considered property owned by the families

    Awesome walking tour, thank you very much Tony. Most of these mausoleums seem to be in good condition, just need a little cleaning. The mausoleum with the pictures? If that was my family's mausoleum, I would remove the pictures, and pressure wash the inside, if possible. Thank you very much again Tony, have a great day 😀

      @@CryptDoorHi, Tony and everybody. I hope you can see what I can As you are walking up the path of Brown's you can see on the right side it looks like a person in the tree trunk, And on the left side it looks like there is a pattern of people also you see a face at the top of the tree trunk. It's probably an optical illusion.,?
