- The DAJA DJ6 was the cheapest high rated Laser Engraver on AliExpress I could find at the time I was looking for it.
Still quite expensive in my eyes but as it goes for these gadgets it was a bargain but would it actually work?
Here is my review of the product which I bought with my own money and I have no affiliation with the brand or AliExpress.
So what I'm saying is my opinion.
If you want to know the best setting for Leather, please watch this video

Thanks, great video! I enjoyed it, especially when you stopped to study the software etc. That was super relatable because that’s exactly what I and many others would do. Thanks for a genuine unboxing, loved it.
Thank you so much 😊 I really do appreciate it ❤️
Thank you for your video! I was looking to buy one of these machines to engrave on people's phone cases in a shop. Have a nice day ✨
Thank you so much for the review 🙏🏼
Very helpful!
I'm glad I could help 😊
Hello, great video!
I have this laser and want to use it with my android phone but the QR code isn't working for the app. Can you tell me what the name of the app is? Thank you
Did you try to scan the other QR code? I think I show you the app in the video, it's called engraver on my phone and as far as I know it's not in the Google app store just available through the link.
Thank you for this!
@DailyBitesofWisdom you are very welcome 🤗
I just received this from AliExpress, and I have to say this video has answered pretty much all of my questions. Excellent Work! 👌
Keep it up 👍
I'm very glad I could help ☺️
Thanks for review, helps me too much 👍 i'm thinking buy one of these but i don't know if it worth or not.
It's great for doing some crafts but if you need to do much I'll say buy something bigger and faster 💡
Ma'am, will you suggest this machine or anyother under 150£ that can be used to write brand name on Sunglasses Case, Sunglasses side holders and if possible then on sunglasses lens as well..? Will this work ok all these three places and draw text based logo accuretly?
I'm sorry but I can't tell you if it will work as I don't have those materials to test. But from what I know about the specifications you won't be able to use it. Please research on the specific material and which laser type will work as I think you need a way more powerful machine or even a different type of laser as diode doesn't work on all materials.
Very good.
Thank you 😊❤️
Hi, I would like to buy it for engraving wood pens with a small logo, what do you think?
From my tests it looks like it would work well for small wooden items but you would need to test it if it works on your material as well 💡
I've had this machine for over a year and it always amazes me when people do a review without learning how to use it first. The computer software is quite good, as I don't bother with phone apps- It's also not a "laser printer." The power limitation of a low end laser like this determines what materials it can engrave. Honestly, trying to do acrylic is mostly a waste of time and you'd need a CO2 laser to really work with it. Same for almost any metal. Take a look at 40 watt CO2 lasers, just avoid the overpriced Glowforge- there are far better machines for far less that use common software. This machine is SO limited, but it's also very inexpensive. I haven't used mine since I first played with it, as I have no use for burning things into little pieces of wood... but will be experimenting with composites soon.
The reason for doing a straight out of the box review like this without testing the machine first is to show what most people will do when they get it. And using the phone instead of the computer is what makes it a bit more user friendly.
And in this case I am not a professional, I do not intend to make money with this machine. It's a hobby and a fun tool to have and to make gifts and crafts with.
The reason I show the different materials is to inform others about what it can and can't do. If you read my comments to others you will hear me tell them to do the research or to just buy a stronger/different type of machine.
The words I use to describe what it does are what the manufacturer puts in their advertisement to us consumers. Please do not hold me accountable for making mistakes, also English isn't my first language.
All I want to do is show others what they get when they buy it so they don't spend their money on a machine that promised the world but didn't deliver.
It's fine for what I need but I always tell the truth to my followers and help them where I can.
I just received mine and with the very limited instructional material included with the unit, I look for videos to provide what information is available, good or bad. If you have something informative and useful to pass along to us newbies please take some time and pass it along; if you don’t have anything to offer other than some needless criticism of someone else’s efforts then I suggest you move along and spend your time on something more constructive.
@@mramigo098 I hope it will work for what you bought it for. If you run into any issues I will try to help you if I can. One tip I can give you straight away is to use mostly line art in black and white. This will give the best results. The focus of the laser is also very important, get the dot as small as you can. When you do multiple passes make sure you stick your project down and leave the machine untouched or it might shift the design. And lastly don't rush, it's not that powerful so it needs time.
Will this work on pla? 3d printer filament
I'm not sure, I haven't tested that. But it isn't mentioned anywhere so I wouldn't buy it just for that.
Hello, does it work with silicone tags?
Not that I know, you could check the manufacturer to see what they say
What would you recommend someone use them if they want to start a small business? Things like cup holders, cigarette lighters, coffee cups and metal water bottles? Currently my budget is about $500
For a small business it's way too slow and small. I would look for one that is more powerful and has a bigger engraving area. Also if you want to engrave on bottles you need a turner attachment otherwise you don't get an even burn.
You can make wood portrait with nice words for couples and write the couple name and decorat it with flowers , and u can put names in wallets and nice words inside and also , a package of hair brush and other items with personalised name on it , and key accessories with lines in it , for couples, or distance relationships couples
Please check the material list when choosing an engraver. As for the designs you can make any design as long as you stay within the dimensions. I would recommend just using black and white designs.
Sorry for my bad English, but I don't know if you noticed this in the video, but the green protective acrylic has a film, you can remove it and it will be transparent, so it's better to see object
Your English is fine ❤️ thank you for telling me but I thought so too but it didn't 😅🫣
@@UnboundedArtandCrafts You tried? It was also difficult for me to remove the film, but there is a film stuck to it so it remains matte, sorry for my English again, I hope you enjoy your machine
@@alpha-gummybear1184 I checked again and you are right it looks like a film is on it but it seems that mine is fused at the edges 😅 I think they cutt the shield with the film on and it melted to much.
I'll just leave it on as I only use the glasses because then I know my eyes are fully protected ☺️
I amnin perfume making hobby, would you recommend this for engraving text and logo on perfume bottels and caps? Thanka
I would not, it's not going to work on glass or metal. You need a different kind of Laser for that. Please do some research before buying.
Is it suitable for plastic? Thanks@@UnboundedArtandCrafts
@Cri-criActivity I think it depends on what kind of plastic. I only tested it on the craft board and acrylic and it worked on that. Unfortunately you will have to test it if you buy one. But I cannot promise it will work for you, I can only tell you what material I have tested so far.
Can it engraving on metal like steel pendent??
I don't think it can, you need a different kind of laser for metal.
is it possible for leather patches?
Can you please explain what you mean with patches? It will work on Leather.
Can you kindly give the time frame of it completing the tasks you did?
Can you please clarify? Which project do you mean. The machine isn't fast but it's cheap and great for hobby crafting.
@@UnboundedArtandCrafts Hi Thanks for the reply
The acrylic and logo one
The acrylic took about 5/8 minutes the logo I didn't time. I did a 5x5cm line art piece of a dog on leather and that took almost an hour. So as I said not very quick 😬
Hello, Good day.
Can we engrave in phone cover?
@anwarchoudhury3671 I think that depends on the material because some softer ones don't really like to melt clean. So it's something you need to test out.
Does it works on aluminum
They claim it does but I haven't been able to make it work. So to be sure maybe go for a bit more powerful machine.
May i know if i can use this with silicon?
I personally think this machine is not able to burn silicone but you will have to ask the manufacturer, sorry I don't use a laser on silicone.
So does this suck I ordered it to be delivered Friday
Hi @Trenalovesjoshua4361
Well that depends on what you bought it for. If it's just a hobby thing it works just fine on most material if you use the right settings and focus point.
I like to use it to make personalized gifts for friends and family. For example I made a leather keychain with the picture of her dog and horse engraved into the leather. Worked amazing just took some time (and don't do it inside as the smell of burning leather isn't great). And for my niece I made a wooden birthday gift tag. The design was bigger than the area it could engrave so I just did it in pieces and made sure I lined it up as best as I could. So for me it works just fine.
Can you use it on metal?
For me it did not work but it might have been the kind of metal I had.
When I first install the application, it works in English, but when I open it for the second time, it opens in Chinese and English cannot be selected from the language option. Is there an alternative application?
Dear mete,
I'm just a user like you so I don't know anything about the software. I haven't had this issue. What I would recommend is to delete the app and install it again.
If that doesn't help you still need to contact the company.
@@UnboundedArtandCrafts The company does not reply. I'm tired of deleting the app and reinstalling it. at least the device does not malfunction.
Have you tried using the computer program or a different phone?
@@UnboundedArtandCrafts I didn't try. Which program should I use?
Please look at the instructions of the product it should have come with all information and the usb drive.
As I said I'm just a user like you and I bought the product with my own money and have no affiliation with the company.
So all I can do is tell you my experience and I haven't had any issues with the app so I really can't help you any more than giving you an idea on what to try.
I'm very sorry 😔 but I just don't know how to fix an issue I haven't had.
How did you stop getting just a line?
@deanreidjr695 do you mean how I switched to a new design?
It's engraved on ring?
No, it can't you need to have a special laser to engrave metal
I was wondering, i always struggle with Keyboard Keycaps always come with only english letters is this machine able to engrave letters to a keycap?
I think that it might be able to engrave the plastic but as I don't have any to test I can't promise it. But in the video it easily burns the hobby foam....
Can it be us even unplug?
No it has no battery so it needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet
can you engrave name tags? plastic one
I think it will as long as they are opaque
But you will have to test it as I don't have the same material as you.
Did you ever figure out engraving on metal
Hi Bradley, to be honest I have a tumbler ready for testing but it's low on priority for now as I know it will not engrave the metal but will just burn the paint that's on it. For metal you need a CO2 laser 💡
Such dangerous devices should not to be sold to the public, they should not even exist. Laser engravers and 3D printers are just two of mankind's horrible inventions. We are shown how useful they are, how art can be made with them or how easy it is now to do what would have been much more difficult. Yes, but art must be man's, not the machine's, the effort must be his, not the machine's. When only the technical functionality of a thing is followed, then it could be made enterely by machine, but not when it comes to art. The art created by the machine reach perfection and impress many, but there will still be enough who will not be interested in it. A creator of art objects can also use a lathe or something similar, but these represent the maximum compromise that can be made. Devices like the one presented go far beyond this compromise.
@mariani8718 I respect your personal opinion but I have to say that I'm not using this machine for selling Art. I personally will use it to do crafts for personal use or gifts.
And I believe these products can be very helpful to some even to myself as I'm struggling with disabilities and pain in my hands.
So they have pro's and cons 😉
Also there is a reason you should follow the manufacturers instructions and never leave the machines without supervision 💡 safety first ❤️
@@UnboundedArtandCrafts Exactly when various objects are made to be given as gifts the situation is more serious ! Anyway, I don't insist anymore.
But because I saw that you work a lot with epoxy resin and because I'm also trying to make some objects from this, I would like to ask you if you were interested in the light resistance of the dyes you use. It is a subject that concerns me a lot.
Thank you because in an older video you showed how to get rid of air bubbles in the resin. It was mentioned in a video that hot water is good, but I didn't know how effective the process is.
@@marianl8718 Do you mean how well the dye's keep there color?
Because I've only used resin for a couple of years it's very hard to say how well the colors will hold up. All resin will yellow over time no matter what the manufacturer says. The thicker the layer of resin the more you will see the yellow.
To combat this you could add some blue or purple dye.
Pigment paste will hold color longer, mica even more so. Alcohol ink and more watery dyes will get lighter over time, reds tend to go first from what I have seen.
@@UnboundedArtandCrafts Yes, that's what I meant, the durability of colors. That's right, transparent colors seem to have a weaker resistance to light. Painters also accuse the poor light resistance of some pigments, unfortunately some famous ones, for which only approximate substitutes have been found.
Epoxy resin turns yellow over time, it is true, but it seems that there is also one that does not turn yellow. Plexiglas is also a kind of resin, and it does not turn yellow.
It would be very good if there was a book about dyes, with all their characteristics, chemical formula, transmitted light spectrum, light resistance and others. Such data can be found on Internet, but incomplete and disparate.
@@marianl8718 actually plexiglass does turn yellow, even my prescription eyeglasses have a slight yellow tint now after many years of wearing them.
Just look at for example car lights.
The more expensive manufacturers will include information on how "kleur echt" light resident a pigment or paint is.
But I agree it's hard to get proper information.
Seriously? Had to brag about buying it with your "own money"
No, not bragging but I need to mention it for CZcams so they know it's not an ad or gift 💡
Thank you for the video! Just got mine today and I’m about to test it out on leather and if it passes the test, I’ll engrave my wallet
You're welcome 😊 I would love to know if you like the machine and if it works well for your needs
@@UnboundedArtandCrafts I’m on my 4th attempt right now. My design has a lot of shading, so it’s been tough to perfect it. I think I figured it out though 😎
I would recommend doing a test grid to see which setting is best. Also designs with shading work better on wood I've found. So on leather I personally use just lines.
What is the paint you used for please
Please explain which paint you mean?
