I am 40 years old with very cool toned fair dry skin (the drugstore skin tints where to dark for me) and this skin tint (nr 1) with the a little Hourglass airbrush concealer (cream) and huda beauty powder (sugar cookie) and it just looks amazing! Love your honesty in your videos and you are so fun to watch! I'm turning 75 the end of this month and enjoy using makeup, wear it every day and like trying new products. I could easily afford this makeup but would never spend that much when there are so many wonderful and more cost effective drug store ones available. That's just my opinion and I'd rather spend my money on my grandkids just for the joy of it! If it's worth it to someone who enjoys it that's perfectly fine!

Honestly, I love Nars Light Reflecting foundation. It’s $50 also which is kind of steep. However, 1 pump gives me a tinted moisturizer or skin tint affect, if you will, and 2 pumps gives me good coverage. So in that sense, it’s more versatile. I’m hooked on that stuff because of you, Allie! ❤

I was thinking the same thing . Brands keep ripping people off and the comments about everybody keeps liking this. I haven’t seen anything about that whatsoever. The only things I have seen other people saying skip it, and use drugstore brand, which are cheaper and thankfully Allie said that at the end. There’s definitely cheaper options out there with the same result

I bought this at Sephora a few weeks ago after a boozy brunch! 😂. I was second guessing my purchase the next day but I’ve really been loving all the Hourglass products I’ve purchased so far. When I put it on it felt like the most hydrating moisturizer I’ve ever tried. And the coverage for me was just a tad sheerer than the Saii skin tint. I have “mature” skin and I think people with drier skin will absolutely love this product; especially in the winter. Pricey; yes. But if you want it for more of a skin care product with just a touch of tint; so worth it! Especially when used with the Hourglass powder. I finally found one that doesn’t creep under my eyes. Thank you Allie for your fabulous and honest reviews!! ❤

I think the most I’d ever be willing to pay for a foundation (not into skin tints tbh) would be around $20, though I try to keep it under $10. I know a lot of high end/luxury foundations have more skincare benefits but there’s still a lot of more affordable options that may not have those extra benefits but they aren’t bad for your skin. The wet n wild foundation that I love is only around $5 and it has a fragrance (which personally I like) but even as someone with acne prone skin, it doesn’t bother my skin at all. I prefer to splurge a little more on things like eyeshadow palettes, highlights, blush, and my skincare rather than foundation and concealer but I think it comes down to budget and preference whether you’re willing and able to spend certain amounts for different products

I’ve realized taking good care of my skin is the best thing I can do. A tint doesn’t provide enough coverage and a foundation is way too much for daily use. Nothing like having a nice complexion and just enhancing it with skincare that has light reflecting minerals in it.

  • @riddlememphis
    @riddlememphis Před rokem +13

Hourglass is such a quality brand. I used their stuck foundation for my wedding in mid July in the South 😅
However, NO. Way too expensive for an everyday very sheer/light product. I mean, you could use a good primer and get the same effect.
I want skin tint to look like skin in its finish, but i do want to be able to have light coverage, not no coverage. The LM skin tint is amazing and the most i would spend on something like this, but tbh the Colorpop version is just as good. That's what I'll be buying from now on.

I want something to wear to just look a little better to run to the grocery store, or go get gas at the gas station, but not look full glam. Because I try to slap on some foundation, then my face looks too blank and I end up putting on blush, then my eyes look odd, so I put on some shadow and mascara. Before I know it, I’m practically full glam to go to the store. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think with this skin tint I could put this on and it not look weird, then just some mascara, and head out the door.

I haven't got to try this foundation yet, but I'm going to. I actually went old school playing with a fave foundation from a while bk the hourglass vanish stick foundation. I forgot how amazing it was. Just a few light draws on my face buffed all in it looks like my skin but better. I love skin tints a light, to light-medium, medium coverage, and the stick is just that for me bc I make it that way. My skin is flawless, but that's y I love the coverage I do and a skin tint. I go for the ones that r smoothing, evening out, and blurring properties to them. So u can see my skin just barely, but it's flawless looking. I hate looking like I have heavy base makeup on or mask like. I want to look like me but feel beautiful.

But….I prefer Nars products over Hourglass.
Daily, I use BIORÉ spf 50 sunscreen everyday. It works well with foundations and other tinted spf. I use $49 Colorescience Flex spf 50 tinted sunscreen on top of it( comes in 4 adjusting colors) as my foundation with Nars soft matte concealer. The Colorescience flex has more coverage than the Hourglass. It is a perfect combination for me. If I need more coverage I use my Revlon Illuminance foundation as well. All work together very well. The price is quite high for what it is. I couldn't agree with you more. I would rather it be somewhere in the high 30s? I get that it's Hourglass, but as pretty as it seems, I'm probably never going to scoop it up without a sale lol ❤ thank you, Allie xo.

Thanks for the review. I won't be buying a $50 skin tint, but no swatches of the other shades they sent you? It would be nice to know the range.

The best skin tint for me was the nyx barely there tinted veil. I can't believe they discontinued it☹️ I like the wet n wild tinted hydrator. There's so many cheaper options

I bought this but found it too shiny and v light coverage. I mix a bit of their powder into the foundation and it looks nice. Better coverage etc x

Great video. My kind of makeup. Love tint makeup your skin but better. ❤ No will not pay $50.00 because you make your Foundation look the same by just putting on less.

If I am going to try a new skin tint, I would buy the new Maybelline Skin Tint. It’s a much better price point. I love the HG Ambient Light Foundation. That’s worth the $ in my opinion. Thanks for sharing! ❤

🎉 this looks great and I’d try it! True, the price is up there, but it has good qualities. And I’d ask for it as a gift, or give it as a special gift.

I can't even see it! For that much money, I expect more. Don't get me wrong. I love Hourglass. Probably one of the most unique, finely milled powders out there. But this is nada for $50! I'll take the Maybelline Super Stay.

  • @juliabelova-pachefsky4426

With Hourglass, you're paying for quality. Adds to cart 😂

Best skin tints on the market hands down:
Cover girl skin milk. Under $10
    L.O.C.K boundation just over $10

As someone who has bought a $90 skin tint that ended up looking like crap on my skin I would definitely pay the $50 from hourglass knowing it looks great‼️🤷‍♀️

Totally off this topic. Allie what’s your favorite under eye cream for puffiness and hydration? I don’t live far from you and I’m allergic to dust and live in Phoenix. 😫 thanks!

Yea I could spend that money on a skin tint. Affordable ones do the job just as well. Now I do spend that kind of money on legit foundations. I have a Tom Ford one that is worth every penny. ❤
Also hate the droppers in foundations too. Luckily Amazon has great pumps you can buy to just replace it.

Have you ever reviewed Ogee products? Very high end, but would enjoy hearing your thoughts…
