Something a lot of people might miss in the Monster Introduction is, 1006/The Voice is telling you that the others(mommy and boxy) are hungry. It would seem he's caring for them, which can also explain why he doesn't want the BBI to succeed. He wants to save more people from becoming monsters, even if he has to slaughter the company to do so.
Couldn’t he just put them out of their misery? Imo he’s feeding the toys to make them healthier so that they’re more beneficial when they’re “a part of him”.
But mommy came off as she was scared of him so I don’t think that makes much sense

Let’s not forget the fact that when we rescue Poppy towards the end of chapter two, her pupils are dilated. Not to mention she isn’t her usually chipper self, like what we saw at the beginning of the chapter

Fun fact, one thing that is interesting (and something that really creeped me out when I looked more closely) about The Prototype are the wires that you see wrapped around the arm. The wires are red and some of them are blue which mimics the way the circulatory system is portrayed in anatomy posters (red for arteries which carry oxygen rich blood and blue for veins which carry oxygen starved blood).
In fact, the radius and ulnar bones that The Prototype has have the red wires wrapped around it similar to the radial and ulnar arteries. One piece of concept art even showed The Prototype with what looks like human muscle tissue on his hand. I wonder if Mob Games was originally going to make The Prototype look more organic but decided to go for the robotic look to make it more ambiguous.
I do want to point out something funny
the radius and ulna are placed the wrong way around on the prototype's arm if it's supposed to turn like a human's arm xD
@@irishuisman1450 I kind of wonder how that would affect The Prototype (that could have been a mistake on part of the modelers). I must admit that I have very basic knowledge of anatomy. And now that I think about it the wiring might actually be tubing of some kind. Some pieces of concept art have what looks like blood (possibly poppy gel) leaking out of a tear in the tube.
I think the prototype already got to Poppy. When we first meet her, her eyes are normal, and she has her innocent look and personality to match. When we rescue her from the web, her eyes are diluted and she clearly isn’t the same as when we first came across her. It’s too late for her
Her eyes aren't really dilated, as they are bloodshot, so I think it's in the progress of taking Poppy, only Poppy seems to have some form of strength to fight back.

personally i just don't think kissy killed the workers, if she did i think there would be a lot more blood on her if she did. I think it might've been the prototype or huggy, i think kissy was just scared so she didn't move and just let herself be saved, but after everyone was dead she was too scared to move bc it seems like she's much more docile than the other giants, it seems she follows orders more if theyre from like humans or smth idk
I totally agree with that theory. Kissy could've paralyzed with fear or just severely traumatized by the whole massacre she witnessed before her. Even the splatters don't suggest kissy did the killing.
Not just that, but the blood pattern is more consistent with something slithering up around her, not something she's grabbed and bitten.
Okay Theory - for a while I thought that the prototype was Ludwig, but not anymore. Did anybody else notice the similarities between the voice of “the doctor” and 1006 we hear in the tutorial for project playtime? Maybe the doctor started the bigger bodies initiative behind Ludwig’s back, and when Ludwig found out, he made the doctor into a monster. That would make sense as to why the prototype is so smart and why he would want to kill the workers.
Honestly this sounds very accurate as well, I can 100% see it panning out this way.
The prototype being the only real villain, while the toys were victims of his evil plot.
Okay follow up after I’ve thought about it for a while - let’s say that before Ludwig found out, the doctor was making monsters similar to the prototype’s style (not toy like at all). Then Ludwig finds out, and makes him into one of the monstrosities that he created. After 1006 is created, Ludwig takes the “idea” that the doctor had but made “giants” instead of the original type created by the doctor. This would explain why the prototype is so different from the toy-like giants

@@alexgreen4724 that's a really good theory. And I always had a feeling that Elliot is good and really did wanted to make children happy and Harley and Exp. 1006 do sound almost alike. Also tbh I don't think Poppy is Elliot's daughter cause did we even heard which family member of Elliot died? Maybe and I know this is a pretty big stretch but what if Poppy does NOT have a human soul at all and is really a intelligent doll like how she is describe as. I know it's a long stretch but if we look at the description of Huggy, Mommy, Boxy in Project: Playtime they are said to be "base on a toy back in (the time the toys were created) except for Mommy the giant came out first but due to her being so popular they made a toy out of her.

I think that 1006 wrote “The hour of joy is at hand” in the train tunnel because it was known to escape multiple times and could have used the writing on the wall to incite a big ‘toy riot’ in the factory. I also think this took place on 8/8/1995, 11PM - 12AM. August 8th might actually be the release date of chapter 3 as it’s just a few days after the chapter 3 teaser trailer released on August 6th.
as an impatient person I’m hoping the release date is sooner. as a pokemon fan I’m trying to be patient because I’ve seen what happens when game devs are pressured to release a game too early
Theory. At the end when poppy is talking, it's not poppy, it's the prototype trying to take control of poppy.

My theory: Suppose Elliot Ludwig is 1006. What if part of what made that "mysterious red substance" contained his blood and DNA? DNA is actually easy to infinitely replicate, if needed to maintain the supply of that substance even after Elliot's passing. That would explain why he and Poppy can communicate to all other experiments in that hive mind manner, which also confirms that the player is also an experiment considering she told us to "wake up" in Chapter 2.
Given Poppy's independence, I feel like she may be immune to his control, and that may be due to the fact that she is Ludwig's daughter (therefore, same DNA). This may be that "flaw" in the scientific process mentioned in Chapter 1. Matching A to A by using Elliot as the vessel in 1006 granted him far too much control and independence. Something maybe only a scientist (like the voice behind the logs) would be able to identify so quickly.
I also feel like there was a significance to the house that Huggy was found at. Perhaps there was something he was told to retrieve from there. Perhaps that's the home of the original vessel of the child used in the experiment?

I still disagree about kissy being the one who caused the bloodshed in the teaser. I think the slash marks aren't symbolic in any way I think they are concrete evidence the prototype was physically present to do it. Otherwise I agree with your theory. Maybe kissy is immune in some way?
Also, could the red instructions be given to ANOTHER toy, to release Kissy? But Kissy still isn't affected by the Prototype (at least *yet*) hense why she didn't move at all? The instructions do stipulate to "free the giant", and not "free yourself"
Plot twist theory: Leith Pierre is 1006, and is trying to take complete control over Ludwig's life work totally, which would include destroying Poppy, seeing as how poppy would technically be his heir to the toy making throne. Or destroy her before she escapes, and exposes the goings on in the toy factory.
It would be cool if we get to see the final form (or amalgam rather) of 1006, and if Poppy IS good, and you DO escape together that she's given to a child, or the protagonist's child (if any)? Love your theory Mike! Can't wait for the third chapter:)
I think it may have been too late for Poppy to be sane enough to free the prototype from the corrupted form because when she was freed from the webbing at the end of chapter 2, she was acting cold and bitter, but congratulated the player for killing Mommy. Poppy did say that they were getting out of the factory but at the end of chapter 2, she had a change of heart thanks to 1006's influence. It makes sense that Ludwig would be 1006, and that violent tendency you discussed would match perfectly with this claim. Yes, when someone is killed their spirit may come back to exact revenge on the person or people who killed that person, but this is just getting way more confusing.
If Poppy truly wanted us to help her she would at least explain the situation without like commanding and staying inside the train with the player.
She's a doll, what more CAN she do besides pressing buttons and pulling levers?

Poppy set kissy free, but I don't know if she was working alone or she was teaming up with 1006, so... I'm not sure if shes good or evil

Hey, so, I just noticed, Mommy's eyes are still dilated during the time she clearly doesn't want to be part of him, so, maybe this could mean something? Either that or the game's just being lazy lol
Unless mommy had a moment of clarity during possession, like a demon to a person.
Maybe during the downfall of Playtime Co. aka every employee being killed the Prototype has control of every toy and they were obedient to him cause he freed them, feed them, and help them but after a few years they start to realize that collects dead toys and make him part of him and maybe he didn't even cared for them at all it was just a trick to get them to do whatever he wants.
I think the toys are just being manipulated, not mind controlled. Because in project playtime the voice isnt “posessing” us but more like telling us what to do or something bad will happen
ok so. . . We all know about the exp. 1006 vhs tapes, right? And in the first chapter we only saw a hand and in the chapter 2 we saw his hand and arm so probably in chapter 3 we'll see his torso or other part and there's probably be going to be like idk a lot of chapters before we see full prototype's body. There's lots to go on with this type of theory before the release of chapter 3, meaning there's lots to discuss before it's released this year.
My theory is that Experiment 1006/The Prototype is Elliot Ludwig himself. Ever since his daughter's unfortunate passing, Ludwig was devastated beyond belief and completely heartbroken about it. Throwing himself back into work was the only coping mechanism he had, but couldn't bear the pain of losing his little girl. That's until he had the idea to bring her back from the dead. Somehow she was really attached to her Poppy doll when Ludwig gave it to her as a present. Meaning he could use it as a vessel of sorts, but will it truly work. This is where the first experiments with the rats came into play. Using the poppy flower in a mixture of sorts to bring them back to life to see if it works as its attentive purpose and use electro shock (sort of like Frankenstein) to bring it back to life. Though half of those experiments failed, Ludwig kept on trying and trying until it somehow worked one day. After so much trial and error, Ludwig manages to use his daughter's body and the Poppy doll she was attached to together in the Poppy mixture. After such a long time it works. Her soul attaches itself onto the doll as a vessel and comes to life. It's a success, but at what cost?
Now this is where it gets very dark. After such a long wait, Ludwig is very happy to his daughter back in this arms at last. But being how fragile and delicate she is now, Ludwig tries his very best to keep his daughter safe from harms way. Knowing that he couldn't use her old body and no other way separate her soul in her new body, Ludwig fears that he'll her all over again. That's until he finds another way to do so. Build a whole new body for her. It's the only other way to keep her safe. Unfortunately, Ludwig dies unexpectedly before it could be fully completed.
Now everything starts to turn a much darker turn from here. With her new body half completed and Ludwig's passing, there's no other way to get it done. That's until everything changed. Instead of using his daughter, they use him as the first human toy hybrid. From there Ludwig becomes fully aware what they're actually doing with him. With his background in engineering, toy making skills, and brand new body, Ludwig uses them to escape and kill everybody in the whole factory after being through so much heartbreak and trauma he endured. Even after making living toys out of innocent human souls.
He isn't the actual threat in the game. The people who did all those horrible experiments are the real threat...

My theory for the player is that jamie was a normal person working in the science division,but one day he found out about what was happening to the orphans and the other dark stuff,and Jamie, which is his real name,unleashed the prototype and the other toys loose on the rampage.
Poppy Playtime creeping its lore to fnaf standards...
Only with the souls bit, everything else is more Annabelle/Chucky with the actual Poppy doll, and whatever other movies show merging bodies to inamminate objects.....
Or to the Creepypasta Jason the Toymaker who literally makes dolls out of living people, but that's just me.

I think we play as someone who knew about the experiments and even worked on it and I think the named slide is the player’s because why else would it be so scrambled with most of the letters and if they wanted an eerie setting and it was a random character’s slide then I feel like having 2 letters detach would do

I cannot wait for more Poppy Playtime and your theory is well done and makes a lot of sense. Poppy wants to help in 'fixing' the horrible mistakes that had happened at the factory and the Prototype does too but in a more twisted way. Chapter 3 is said to come out this year so hopefully we will get a release date soon.

@@joseluisorivemartinez42 As the player conducts the train, Poppy switches the tracks and steers the player away from the exit as she speaks with them. The conversation is cut short after she asks suddenly, "Hey, what are you--?"

I've heard it's the Prototype because you hear an alarm clock in the background of the scene.
In one of the tapes discussion 1006 it talks about how he had dismantled and repurposed the alarm clock into a laser pointer. The idea being that, the prototype may not have vocal cords and ends up using the alarm clock as a replacement.
They could've started the Bigger Bodies Initiative with the goal of turning adult workers into giant toys, starting with the Prototype. But when that went wrong, Playtime Co decided to go the route of using children instead. It would also explain why the Prototype seems to care for the other experiments, knowing that they started as innocent children.

If the prototype has control over Huggy Wuggy only in a certain radius, why would he send him out of said radius ? And why would he make him evade at all ?

The prototype is definitely a hacking-master
The claw that claimed Mommy Longlegs is usually considered to be part of 1006 itself but that could very well not be the case. It incorporates human arm bones so it could have easily been a remote body 'innovated' from a random worker's (or Elliott's or Laithe's) corpse and controlled by the real 1006 from a distance in a similar manner to Huggy.

it is a very interesting theory. what if it is the toys creator and founder is the mystery villain behind everything or what if poppy is using the player for a more sinister plan of her own ? guess we will find out once chapter 3 finally drops.

I got a theory which is probably going to be pretty obvious by most people Elliot Ludwig just wanted to bring his daughter back to life
So from chapter 2 he started to experiment what poppy flowers and rats but unfortunately they all end up a failure Blue iguana to just stop and go back to focusing on toys
But Sawyer got mad and saw red seeing how Ludwig wasted company finances on trying to bring back his daughter rats but failed went Sawyer and pierce both walked in to Mr Ludwig office both of them were mad I want this experiment be a success but they needed something much more darker Ludwig said no Sawyer got anger grab the statue on his desk bashing his skull in went Elliot was that it happened they to the kids

I think what they are trying to say is:
Elliot wanted to bring back his daughter so he started to experiment with the poppy flower with rats but all ended up as failures so he stopped.
But Harley Sawyer saw it as a opportunity to make toys that will work for them so they don't have to pay their employees and avoid lawsuits. And he was also mad at Elliot for wasting that will get Playtime Co.'s business booming and becoming the best toy factory.
He and Leith Pierre teamed up and both of them walked into Elliot's office and Harley grabbed a statue from Elliot's desk and bash it into Elliot's head maybe killing him and that's how it started with the experiments.

I wonder. The experiments being aware would certainly bring forth rage and murder. But the Voice is influencing indeed and some toys can talk, meaning this is not just a hive mind. But maybe it’s influencing them, by praying on thier worst emotions. I don’t think it’s Elliot, but I hoped that was true

You know, this is really representative of real life. Like many people, the monsters can not take control or responsibility for their own actions, like so many terrible people think they can’t as well.
I have a theory that could be true so basically Elliot ludwig Is the prototype so that means that he is controlling his creations and hiding poppy away his daughter so which means that in the final chapter he will use the dead parts of his creations and become the final boss and we will find the truth why everybody disappeared and poppy is evil.
This explains why huggy was completely still in the begining and then suddenly attacks
What if Elliott was trying to protect the kids from the scientists as the prototype with the toys by his side so that no child would suffer the fate as he did.

I don't know if this is just lighting and graphics but you can see that when Poppy is less um "dark" to put it, her eyes are normal, but after Mommy's death, there is an ring of black around her iris. Maybe this is Poppy slowly losing control and succumbing to the Prototype's influence.
But its safe to say, yep she's in too deep.

I just had a thought. Some people think that Poppy has already been taken over, and that's why she prevented us from escaping. She claims during her speech that "terrible things have happened", and "we'll set things right". Could this be Elliot talking through her, wanting to stop the corruption of his company? Then again, we hear the prototype itself near the end of the chapter. We'll just have to wait and see.

I’m starting to think that some of the toys like Huggy see the protagonist as the Prototype which could explain why they try to kill them.
I doubt that it's true, but I think that it would be a cool twist if the prototype and Poppy are one in the same. In the original video introducing poppy it showed them pulling out a chip from Poppy that looked a lot like the mechanical/biological almagamation that the prototype could be made of. Poppy also doesn't like the idea of more being made. If they were the first they would have the most antagonistic views on the other toys and the events happening in Playtime Co.

I don't really like this theory at all, since Poppy and Mommy Long Legs seem to have way more freedom and personality than the toys controlled by the Prototype in Project Playtime when controlled by players. Alot of their own decisions seem to be based more on their own personality rather than some sort of "dark influence" that makes them feral. Mommy Long Legs explicitly states that the reason she's torturing you, the player, is because you're an employee of the company and nothing more. Poppy on the other hand, just finds your resourcefulness and luck for survival to be useful in taking down the company in the "proper way." Both of these things seemed to actually run counter to what the Prototype wants and the reason Huggy Wuggy goes after you is because it was stated in a document that he's *the most loyal* experiment out of all the others and would gladly play deadly security dog for the company.
The only way this control theory works for me is this is the result of the toy AFTER they are caught by the Prototype *FIRST* rather than before, otherwise Mommy Long Legs wouldn't be more concerned about being a part of him physically if she was already a part of him mentally, other than knowing what physically being a part of him actually means. You could argue that he made "subliminal messages" to them to act in a certain way like in that one video to give them the idea that it was theirs all along. But I don't think them going feral is the Prototype inserting control, it is more about them just them going feral on their own feelings instead.
It's still an interesting theory at the end of the day, but I think the freedom that Mommy Long Legs and Poppy have seems to have BEFORE encountering the Prototype face to face, kinda actually falls apart when you think about those aspects enough.
That's a really good point. And I always wondered that if Mommy was indeed under his control, why was she afraid of him? She may have already knew that he was dangerous not only to the staff but also to the other experiments.

I honestly think The Prototype is Elliot Ludwig. After suffering death himself, the board of directors and the Doctor spearheaded Ludwig's initial discovery of reanimating people into toys and decided to experiment with his soul and a brand new toy design. But Elliot's transferred soul was too much to control due to his newfound telepathy to exact control over the other toys.
