Dean Norton with NBC 7 San Diego to promote the San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books at USD

  • Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Noelle Norton, PhD sat down with NBC 7 San Diego to promote the 7th annual San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books happening at USD August 19, 2023.
    More than 10 thousand community members, including award-winning authors, poets, booksellers, speakers, food vendors and entertainers are expected to attend the seventh-annual San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books. As the presenting sponsor, the University of San Diego (USD) will host both in-person and virtual events on its beautiful campus. The free one-day event will feature panel sessions across campus. Activities include a children’s stage with readings, art and writing workshops, poetry readings, Spanish-language sessions, music, entertainment and food trucks. Admission to the festival is free except for panels held in the Shiley Theatre, which require the purchase of a ticket for $5. Registration is required for all panel sessions.
    Date: Saturday, Aug. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    More than 75 authors will be featured. Headlining authors include: Bernie Taupin, Alice Hoffman, Susanna Hoffs (The Bangles), Joseph Wambaugh, Cory Doctorow, Héctor Tobar and Tracy Badua.
