  • Wow. In this video me and my friend Lucas went to Docklands to target Bream and Kingfish. We stumbled across some Kingfish! I first started off using Z-man Soft Plastics and I caught 3 very nice Black Bream and a Toadie haha. We went for a walk trying to spot Bream when a guy came over and told me there was some big fish. I quickly set up my Kingfish rod, (Lucas said I took forever hahaha). I threw a fresh whole Squid and then a Pilchard, followed by a number of Soft Plastic and Hard Body's. The Kingfish just would not bite anything and were very spooky and smart. They had obviously seen too much fishing pressure and had become really smart fish. There was a bunch of other guys there as well, who were telling me a similar story where the Kingfish wouldn't take anything. Anyway I didn't catch a Kingfish but it was still pretty cool seeing them.
    Sorry if the video is a bit noisy, the elastics in my chest mount have been stretched a lot and are loose.

    If the kingies are being fussy and smart pitch a livebait a few metres ahead of them that always gets them fired up

      phill nikoloski Hey mate, the Kingfish are very lazy there. What area do u catch kingfish on those poppers?

    • @phillnikoloski3836
      @phillnikoloski3836 Před 6 lety

      All over. In the heads port phillip bay, Portland, Eden, Bermagui.. It's not that they are lazy, It's that they probably weren't feeding and needed to be turned on. The poppers really get them excited. Try really hard to get some livies like slimey macs or yellow tail scad and you'll get a kingie no worries. Good luck mate!

      Dylan Greenfield it’s an awesome rod! I’ve caught Salmon on it up to 69cm! It’s a shame they don’t make them anymore.
