If so then what do you want me to cover next?
It would be cool for you to go through your thoughts when doing a track walk

Definitely enjoy the technicals. Would love to hear more on the rallycross side. Maybe a Bilcross tech also.
Get yourself a ps4 and gran turismo :D
Hell yeah😂 this very interesting for the ones that we are starting in a motorsport. Thanks a lot 👍🔥
Pro Driver Tip - don't set your steering wheel too far, and not too close. Thank you for sharing your 8 years of experience.
Rude😂
"Don't hit the walls, it slows you down"
@@RedDovah458 nah that's bs 😂
I have raced before and I actually didn't know that the position of the seat can change the proportion of under/over steering. I think it was a good tip.
@@penkatadrums yeah it's to do with the ballast such as I set my seat a bit further back from the original so I get less understeer
From a 2nd place in state championship go kart race, here's my advice:
1. The steering wheel stuff is all true. Weight distribution is a key part in karting.
2. Leaning into the corners will actually hurt your times and leaning outwards actually helps greatly, distributing weight easily. Just let your body hang loose. This won't have any effect on indoor karts though.
3.Late apexes are super helpful on hairpins. Listen to this guy's advice.
4. As long as they're stable, hitting barriers while on straights won't hurt you. They sometimes help.
5. The BIGGEST mistake I see new karters do is drift. It looks cool, yeah, but it is SO detrimental to your times. It can kill a good lap.
Yep on all points. Leaning out is worth it even if the kart is too heavy/stiff to flex and lift the inner tire as pre-emptively leaning out helps to stabilize you for the turn so you don't try to hold yourself with the wheel. It also helps keep you from getting tired as fast since you're resting on the seat rather than trying to resist the G forces with your muscles.
Drifting is bad in a go kart race, but if you have to, skidding is important for certain turns
What about the small drift he does into the hairpin a few times to get the kart angled better for the corner? Seems really difficult as a rookie
how do you brake when entering a hairpin?
I thought the same...leaning out helps definitely for me...I think it won't work in Sodi Karts...but who wants them anyway 😄
Tips start at 1:50
Never thank me.
@4:50
Fuck yoi
I’ll thank you with my like
No thanks
Thanks

What a sick track for go karting 😳😍
Amp in Atlanta ga lots of elevation and flat out corners
I would love too see more vlogs like this with tips or u walking the tracks!
walking the track would be a good video. Show us what you are looking for, details of how things effect your car. 👍
This is awesome! Been looking for something educational on how to improve karting for ages. Usually, I just find the very basic level stuff over and over, but not in depth like this, which is great! I'd love to see an outdoor karting one! :)
Yeah!Good idea! I'll make one for outdoor soon!
What's also important: use everything you have & maximize everything. Even if you're unable to train in the car at the moment, you can still take care of the fitness side of things, or strategy; so studying other POVs, or train focus or something like that. That's what it's all about.
If you talk to other racers, that's probably also beneficial, because you can always pick up something little. There's always something to learn..
One time my friends was “warming up his wheels” so I rammed him and we both got kicked out.
😅
Yes, just how the Bois get it done
Much more!! This is amazing!
Karting is always fun. Need to pick up the indoor stuff next winter to stay sharp. Great tips.
I love Karting. I take the same lessons I picked up from the track to karting. Racing is racing. I'd love to see more videos!
Riktigt kul avsnitt Andreas! Grymma videos som vanligt. Ger mig inspiration att fortsätta med mina Rallyvlog videos!
Hahaaaa “Hello Darkness...” the editing, hilarious!
Awesome! Now I really wanna try karting. Love these kind of videos.
Yes please and thank you for these tips they will be used this weekend
Love the video, keep up the uploads !
In my 10 years in go karting I have used 9/10 of these tips. Great job.
thank you. subscribed. Keep the instructions and your tips coming!
This is the video I was looking for! Been trying to catch up on all the kids doing insane lap times at the indoor kart place
Love your vids Andreas! Keep it up!
Great advices! I would like more videos like this!
Thanks I was at 58 second on karting eupen in Belgium with 9hp Kart and now I am at 56 thanks you a lot ❤️
Underbart och det ser superkul ut !!! Kööör hååårt nu i helgen Bakkerud =)
Thanks for the tips. I got a Race at this Weekend with friends. I'm good but I will go better. 😅🤙🏼
I would'nt even be able to give tips during a race because i'd be swearing for most of the time
All great tips man!! Been following since watching ur racing vid with “Mama Mia” in Austria (i think it was Austria!). I race indoor and outdoor karts to here in America and vlog about them. Love your stuff man! The tip about the having a late apex on the hair pin is the i took as super helpful and will be trying that to beat my PB! Thanks man!
great video thanks for the tips looks great fun!
Great video! Thanks for the tips man!
More like this! Love it
Amazing video Andreas! Want to see you win in Spa! Flat out! And for the next year, in Barcelona, if you want to go to a good gokart track you should go to Castellolí.
Really interesting! I like videos which explains racing things!
I liked the tipps and tricks
Well and understandable explained 👍🏻
So glad i stumbled across this, great video!
Ditto!
Great video. Cool insights.
Great stuff! Looking fwd to more. Thx & flat-out...
Preach!!! Teach! Great stuff
Thanks mate
Good tips 🤙🏁
This was great. Thanks!
you really helped me a lot guys! cheers!
I can hear the Karts there every day when i park on the floor above on my way to work but i havent had the time to try it yet...
Man I wish I had seen this video when it was posted a month ago, I was just in Bergen 2 weeks ago and loved the place... I would have loved to have loved it even more by going to this Karting space!
Good video m8, i'll try your tips next time i hit a track in my town.
Epic!!!
Thanks for the tips
I'll try them out at my next karting session
I look forward to more of these tips
That tip on the hairpin is absolutely gold. I was wondering why I was so outpaced by some of the usual kart racers at my local spot and I noticed I was losing so much time there. I asked for some tips but NOBODY gave anything close to as useful as that hairpin advice.
I came over this video and was like “that’s a cool hall, wish it was here” then I read “Bergen, Norway” and was like “looks like wishes can come true”
this is a really cool kart track, nice clip andreas
Today is a good day, because today is a Bakkerudlife day
Thanks for being a BakkerudLIFE fan!
yea definitely more educational and karting video please! there's not many explanation about karting so it should be a great contents
Good
I just want to say thanks I just picked up Go karts Especially electric and fast onesAnd those tips were very helpful thank you
Good driving dude, really cool video 😎
Great video! Great advice. Great editing. I would like to see more videos like this, perhaps one on car control/ pendulum turns vs hand brake turn? When and why you use each.
Yeah definitely interesting to get an insight into driving.
tøff video! gode tips! kjører kart selv jeg da... kanskje noe av dette vil hjelpe i karting også
Thanks man!
That sound tho. It's so nice. I wish we had more of those kinds of go-karts. Not only are they more sustainable, they also sound incredibly nice.
Congratulations on 2nd place today (yesterday) !
Damn that looks like so much fun !
WHO ELSE IS WATCHING THIS BEFORE GOING TO GO-KART FIRST TIME😁
Me
Yo for real but 2nd rime acctualy
Nope, watching this after having been twice and lost twice. Came 5/6 both times
Me
Nah Ive been karting 6 or 7 times and Im looking to go faster
thx for the tips :D
good stuff!! its crazy how much faster you become just by keeping in mind this stuff with every corner. being skinny helps too haha
Totyroby. Not for me, the seats are too big which makes me lean/rattle and make it more intense through corners which hurts lap times.
Talk about the track walk (like in Germany) can be very interesting and also useful for understanding better how does it work 🤘🤘
More gokart tips! 😁
I like that do more stuff with tips for racing
Sry for my english I am still learning
Korbinian Martin your English there is perfect. All you missed was a semi-colon or period. Your wording was fine.
Really cool video! Could you please elaborate more on the 'mid corner throttle' that you were talking about, which helps to use wheelspin to push the kart around the corner a little faster. Thanks!
he means when you hit a corner's apex (the point when you're closest to the barrier), you should be on gas
More please !
Greetings
I am going to a race soon so this is perfect
Awesome!! If you play sim, i would love to have every rallycross track explained, corner by corner to improved my driving. Thanks
alot of the tracks in racing sims tend to be based on real tracks so I'm sure there's breakdowns of them online
Jerome if your still interested i would be happy to help, my brother taught me and he is 3rd in the world for iracing, i you want help leave a social below
@@jakerobertson1700 Hello, I'm not Jerome but I would like to get better at rallycross. Here's my Twitter : @ajayi00655652
Pro tip: Aim for the Apex
Me: and..... want to show us the best point to brake and turn in for it?
cant give it allllllll away. ;)
thats spesific for each corner
This video is really good because I’ve always wanted to try go-karting, any advice for people like me that will ride a go-kart for the first time?
Good luck in the next round of rallycross!!
When you come to Cape Town, South Africa go to Kennilworth Karting or Canal walk Karting, I'll try and catch you then👌🏼😂
Thats a deal!
It would be really cool if you do more videos with tips like this one
It does help to lean even on dry surface I tried it last time I was karting and I improved my lap time a lot
Damn... i was in bergen last year, to bad i didnt get to check out this awesome track!
I used to lean a lot because I’m a pretty light person (5’9 120ish) so I use ankle weights to put weight on the front wheels and it improves front end grip immensely
thanks for sharing your experience. I don't really get the 'fast rotation' technic with the steering wheel. I tried this and my kart slided and I think that I lost too much time at that moment.
er det bergen go cart? Var det idag med kompisene mine😂 bra video!
Awesome tutorial. I just wanna know if you do the slide in tight corners on non-electric carts aswell? Do the lesser momentum play in here? If not where is the difference?
Thanks in advance.
IMO the non-electrics are a whole different story, throttle response tends to be a lot later from what I’ve experienced so you have to counter stuff like that, and of course the electrics have the instant torque as a benefit as well
Thanks a lot sir
Very cool. If you can make more videos about karting.
Roland
Thanks for sharing those tips ! But I didn't understand the quick rotation thing in the "downhill corner". Wouldn't a gentle turn (as much as possible) allowe to go faster ?
I used to drive outdoors also with rain i like it more than indoor
I went karting for my birthday. Having raced many times before, my friends basically all said 0:52
"Ian's gotta stroke his Ego somehow!"
Thank you
Cool video
Nice video! kind of helpful, so thanks!
One question though: you talk about breaking while turning. Did I get it right?
Dont you risk to lose grip or even lock up if you break so late you are already turning?
cheers
Yes, well these are indoor electric carts and the surface is concrete so less grippy than a regular outside track. It's pretty tight and with the electric drive, there is instant power - so some corners seem faster if you slide into them a bit to get an early rotation and can get on the power early. The downhill section is the opposite though, sideways there costs a lot of time.
thank you for this video info!
Where can i get that monster hat?
Been there. Cool place. Sotra ❤
DAMN! 10 walk-arounds at Spa?!
When going into a corner and braking, is it best to like: be on throttle then brake and back on throttle again or do you win the most time on just lifting??
Do you have any tips on big slow corners like in De Fabrique in the netherlands
I never even thought about moving the seat. I always have a problem where the rear always slides out. Thanks for the tip.
That could also be from braking too hard (too much pedal pressure) or accelerating too hard too early. It can also be from jerky steering input.
@@nunyabusiness896 definitely I'll have to check next time I'm on the track
thank you
more driving tips!
Hi! Greetings from Ukraine! Please, tell about a preparing for racing on a new track. How you learn and analysis the turns, apexes, hills etc.
Would love to hear your best rallycross advice
I’m a professional aswell I drive a rotax kart, leaning away from the corner does help and late apex’s at hairpins help greatly. But mine is petrol but would imagine the electric would be torquey
