A lot of old classics there. Thank you for sharing
In July 1993, I lived in the Whitecrook area of Clydebank and loved watching aircraft coming in to land and take off. It was around about 1992 that I was fascinated by planes and all things aviation.
I remember the first time that I saw a 747 coming into land in Glasgow and was completely mesmerised by its beauty
Another great video of some of the older planes that used to fly but never see now, but apart from that I did enjoy this video greatly appreciated.
The days when you could tell the difference between planes and a B737 looked like a B737.
Remember arriving at London Gatwick Airport in November 1991 and seeing a Britannia Boeing 767-200 standing next to our gate. We had travelled on American Airlines from New York JFK Airport and it was a Boeing 767-200 as well
Brilliant John...Always nice to see the old colour schemes and old airliners...Great job
Rab Findlay were you there too back in the good ol days😀
@@johnstewart5363 yes mate...awesome!
Nostalgia rush to see the old firms like Caledonian and Britannia
Thank you for posting this 👍
love the retro stuff britannia caledonian ..these we're the good days of spotting
THEY CERTAINLY WERE GOOD DAYS!
Happy days of air travel.
Brilliant John, enjoyed seeing one of the first planes i ever travelled on, the Massive and Mighty L-1011 Tri_Star in Scotland's very own charter airline livery, at some point during its service i flew to Dalaman on it....later that year i was working with them ,with "midland Airport services /servisair" i think..? with its galley down stairs and hot breakfasts from the early arrivals , c*nt to clean though...
Nice to see Caledonian Airways G-BBAF. The Caledonian version of the Landor livery was really classy.
Great stuff Jhon
Nice vid. I was newbie student with the West of Scotland in 1993. Flown TOJ, TVR and later G-ISLE. Thanks.
I flew g-isle to the Isle of Man for the rally great wee plane😀
Kind of crazy to see the Air Canada jumbo at Glasgow when they now don't even fly there anymore. I recall seeing in one of these videos a Manchester to Ottawa flight on a Wardair 747 which would now be impossible. I guess those really were the effects of high amounts of immigration to Canada from the UK.
I flew air Canada from Glasgow on 747 C-FTOB great plane😀
@@johnstewart5363 Glad you enjoyed it! Did you go on vacation to Canada?
@@brownbear1657 yes went to Toronto for a couple of weeks spotting at lester just Pearson airport! Loved it😀
@@johnstewart5363 Glad you enjoyed it! Did you go around Ontario or just stayed around Toronto?
@@brownbear1657 just stayed in Toronto! Great city, returned a couple of years later for a few days, went to Hamilton then Niagara Falls then went on to Miami 😀
The Air uk 767 rocketing out of there great video
Brings back happy memories spotting at Glasgow "aye the Glesga fair wiz alwiz buzzy"
So was the days when the rugby was on all the biz jets and hired planes
@@josephlambe2796 Indeed, also the 2002 Champions League Final in Glasgow. I remember going out and seeing all the traffic and Biz jets, even the King of Spain.
That butterfly enjoyed plane spotting, aswell.
all the bad publicity regarding the DC10s that has been reported over many years and yet i flew brit cal dc10s quite a few times and loved it,,,,great days
im so old I can remember whem 05 was 06
I really wish the L1011 still flew
Same
You wouldn't happen to have film of movements from June 10, 1994, would you?
I flew out on a Monarch 757 to Orlando from GLA that day. Been looking for the registration forever!
If I could find my log book, I’d be able to tell you😟
John was there a reason for the Air Canada 747 being at Glasgow? I lived under the flight path for 45 years until 1999 and never seen one go into Glasgow which would would have been great as they turned over my house to line up its approach
Air Canada served Scotland for over 25 years- first Prestwick then Glasgow. They used Tristar, 747 and 767 aircraft for their Toronto and Halifax routes. We flew AC on a family holiday in 1993. We'd been scheduled to go on a 747 but it was removed for maintenance.
@@melonpan78 I used to travel regularly to Prestwick to watch my all time favourite aircraft, an Air Canada stretched DC8 (62 I think) coming and going to Toronto. Those were the days 👍👍
john any archive film of a vc 10?
Anthony Johnson I think you mean DC-10
@@swiggityswoater4191 the vc-10 was a plane
Here is some footage of the beautiful VC-10, in the first moments:

Would the Air Canada 747 have had a sister aircraft C-GAGA?
Yes, C-GAGA and C-GAGB were both 747-200 combis with main deck cargo door. They were deliverd new. Another of that model was acquired used from Qantas. Air Canada was the first airline to order the 747-200 combi. C-GAGA was the first one built.
Good old air2000
We used to call them air two bob😀
@@johnstewart5363 got us cheap flights to Toronto, then they went belly up & became Canada 3000.
unfortu i never flew on the tri star,,,gutted
For reals?? You looked at a butterfly when the SAS Fokker F50 took off??
