@@michaelschuett Nah, i love the idea of alien but only the original was really good (for its time) the second one was too cartoony. The third one was a nice idea but terribly executed. The forth one was even like the second one just a little more cringe. We shall not speak on AVP. Prometheus movies, were just bad the first one really had nothing going for it other than the cast. The second one had some nice special effects, but honestly the story was even worse than the first one.
So in reality there's only one good alien film, and then there are some nice special effects to look at. Other than that 🤢🤮

The Alien has lost his shock factor. He is, in fact, beginning to look quite friendly, the sort of well-behaved monster one might take out for a walk, weather permitting.
because we always fear the unknown, now we know this alien its no longer scary two movies were more than enough
if they wanted more horror they could have had a movie about the source that created this monster, a source that we never find but its always there watching us waiting to create something else to throw at us or now that we faced one of its creations it is curious about us ....something is wrong now we feel eyes upon us... eyes that feel wrong
there that is a better horror than any of them will ever make from their safe spaces, because Humanity will always fear the Unknown and not the Known

The story focuses on a group of human colonists who are forced to confront an alien threat that has been dormant for centuries. The project will film under the working title 'Alien : Romulus'. The film will be based on an original idea from Alvarez who is a "rabid fan of the franchise". The elements in shares in common with the Engineers are aliens visiting earth in ancient times
I thought it was a movie about a traveling flashlight.
I've seen the last two aliene movies, and i hope this one shows more about those engineers.

We're getting robbed of the finale to the prequels. It got real dark and interesting then just stopped. Too many stupid people not able to comprehend them...

I have learned quickly over time not to get too excited over new sci fi films these days. We'll see, and we'll hope for the best, but expect Sickness
These days you shouldn't get excited about anything coming out of Hollywood.
Seeing the pulse rifle makes me wish for another film with the Colonial Marines.

@@bedfordshiremodeller4491 I honestly thought about that. A series about Colonial Marines would be interesting. I know this might be a bit controversial but I'd think it'd be interesting if they seriously made a series where the first few episodes don't involve the xenomorphs. They could be focused on introducing us to the squad/platoon, allowing us to get to know them and invest in the marines. They could fight off against insurgents or whatever, making us think "wow these really are a rag tag bunch of ultimate badasses" only for later episodes when they come across the xenomorphs it comes as a shock when these characters we've grown to care about and who we viewed as competent badasses be taken out by the perfect organism.

I hope that the source of the alien is mysterious and unknown, and that the events of the story are very terrifying and part of the series, and we do not want ridiculous events that deviate from the film series.

While the story about a group of miners who end up digging too deep was done countlessly times, I think this might be something new for the Alien franchise, and possibly reinvigorating too.

This preview might show different astral bodies but another infestation on a damaged ship is hardly a vision of fresh territory. Ridley Scott worked with H.R.Giger(R.I.P.) and after Prometheus and Covenant even producing on this installment of the franchise is no doubt dauntingly a lost endeavor to the true mastermind of the surreal art. Neil Blomkamp’s failings on Alien 5 just got my juices flowing because H.R.Giger, who granted was the sole proprietor of creation of the zenomorph, realized his legacy has been marginalized by brown turds that deal the original monster practically no justice at all. The alien and predator universe are some of the best fertile grounds for creative content and so far I’ve been waiting for something as groundbreaking as Alien or Aliens not to mention Predator to bloom on the silver screen and none of details that have sense emerged take the cake so it seems.
The best franchise for Aliens and Predators is probably alien vs predator 2 the video game not the movie

They're never going to do anything as good as the first two movies, especially if they keep going off of the Prometheus/Covenant timelines. They fucked it before even getting off the ground.
If they keep basing the films on the half baked shit Ridley Scott threw out in 2012 they will never be able to make a story that doesn't have a million different plotholes that can't possibly measure up to the atmosphere of mystery around Alien.

The idea of the original Alien was the purity, simplicity, the melting of biology and mechanics, the concept grew ever more towards something too familiar and mundane, just weird creatures that hiss and have scary teeth. Also the story of the engineers and their product became too tied to humanity. It was the incredible artistry of crafting a feeling of immeasurable distance between us and the extraterrestrials that made the original Alien so genius.

What made the original two alien films so good was that it used props rather than CGI. CGI doesn't feel real and takes something away from the film

Now I know why the flashlight and the coffee cup looks so familiar in the context of the trailer. The coffee cup is a callback to Dallas who would carry his coffee up in the film. The flashlight is a callback to Brett who carried the flashlight when he was looking for the cat. The other callback might be the voice over. I thought it was Veronica Cartwright - Lambert. Some are saying this is the original voiceover from the first Alien film who was the computer MUTHER.

Knowing that Fede Alvarez is directing this new Aliens I'm even more excited ... I loved his fresh, brutal and uncompromising remake of Evil Dead in 2014, and Don't Breathe was pretty intense too.

I absolutely love the alien franchise. Apart from the alien vs predator movies which are awful and don’t count, the only one I didn’t like was alien resurrection. I have absolutely loved the others.
As much as I agree with you on the thought of alien vs predator, the AVP concept is apparently canon due to the comics fire and stone which did make for a better tie together of the franchises.
You count 3, Resurrection and Prometheus/Covenant as canon but not AVP? They're all nonsensical shite after Aliens who gives a fuck whats canon. Colonial Marines is canon, nothing is sacred.
