50 had something no other artist before him ever had. He had a buzz in New York, beef with superstar artists, and survived a hit from a notorious gangster. He would've been a success regardless strictly off that alone. But then the BIGGEST artist in the rap game and Dre signed his ass and put all of their energy behind him for that first album. I think 75 percent of GRODT was songs 50 already had. Dre and Em get him the big name features and beats to cap it off along with funds for videos and there you have it. Greatest debut album of all time. 50 cent getting shot the greatest thing that ever happened to him. It's crazy lol

50 had a story tell. He was at war wit real kingpins. He had the movie look to go with the story.
Em had a story and while he had some shock value to make people peek, he also hooked u by holding a mirror up to himself and society. Plus he could go hard too.
Obie was amazing, and helped round out the shady team but nothing for people to personally attach to, other than he was dope. Simply dope lyricists usually have a short run, and less pay like NFL RBs. They get used and tapped out.
