- Bargains are pouring in on this drizzly day at the Mount Dora, Florida antique extravaganza! I'm playing hooky with a friend and wading through wet fields to find the best deals during the deluge, and we're quickly rewarded for our perseverance.
A Couroc tray for $5? I'll take it! A vibrantly painted 1930s parrot flower frog for $10? Sure thing! Add to that a host of costume jewelry of all types--signed pieces by Renoir, Robert and Trifari, flower-power 1960s pins, a fun set of rhinestone studded earrings--and we have the makings of a revitalized jewelry display for our upcoming show in Spokane this April!
But most fun of all is seeing the beautiful bounty of the dealer friends we don't always get to go shop during these shows. A phenomenal space filled with fragrant perfumes, boudoir accessories and an amazing Hollywood Regency dresser set...a tent filled with antique cylinder players, 1950s vintage radios and soda fountain stuff...Herend fishnet figurines and art glass ranging from Blenko to Salviati make this a fun day of finding awesome vintage and antiques!

I love the bird flower frog. I collect these figure flower frogs when I can get them at a good price. $10 was a great price. I would have grabbed that one.

I have a lovely 3 strand crystal Coro bracelet that I love. I bought it on whatnot for close to nothing. I have another charm bracelet I've never seen anything like it. Mayne someday you will be close enough to me that I can bring them in to you.

24:26 My mom had a bright blue rivoli pin kind of like that. Mine now, and going nowhere. The points are always up like that. The Austrians reverse-set clear rhinestones sometimes, often to a blindingly bright effect. Had one once and sold it...darnitt.

Great rainy day attitude, George! We used to say, "it always rains on the weekend!" and it often did. Love your jewelry picks. Love those Party Pastel ER's. Have seen them, but don't think I've ever sold or owned the copper, mosaic, Wedgewood, and blue rhinestones are nice. I sold lots of copper when it sorta' came out in the late '90's, I think. Maybe I was a little ahead of the times, but my customers liked it for arthritis, too. I absolutely love Cameos, and hand painted Victorian ladies. I sold and have a small collection. Good evening, George. I would've had to dig through that lot of printer's letterpress blocks. I have a small collection of them. All of mine are Halloween related. I really liked that hand-held mini oil lamp. Never seen one like that. The Czech jewelry is fantastic! I would've been after the old furniture keys that were in the phonograph needles tins showcase 😂 Those old fishing lures would've kept me busy for a while. Those cameos would've kept me busy, too. I've always really liked them. They are timeless and classic. The micro-mosaic jewelry has always fascinated me. They had to have had a good magnifying glass to do those pieces. The rain allowed you to roam about and shop, so there's no _Blame It On The Rain_ issues there 😃 Thanks for taking us along!
Hi there! I'm glad you're taking some time to relax! Like the idea of Halloween related print blocks, I usually look for Studebaker advertising or other old firms that are gone now. I know a few fishing lures but would like to learn more, I don't see collections much these days. The cameos are a personal favorite, I buy them whenever I think they're reasonable enough and I always hear other dealers saying "they don't sell"...right before I sell them. Micromosaics had to take deft hands and good eyes, I couldn't do it! The rain was my friend that day and gave me a reason not to blame it lol
@@TheAntiqueNomad The Halloween related print blocks aren't any too prevalent. I only have about six that are actually Halloween, but others that compliment them well. Are you still enjoying the Studebaker printers' blocks I sent you? I always wanted a collection of old fishing lures, but just never started one...the beverage sets took the lead 😁 Cameos and pearls are two of the most timeless jewelry items, in my opinion. There's no way I could do the micro mosaics. If a piece was any size, at all, my eyes would protest. I'm sure you enjoyed being able to shop...thanks to the rain 😃🌧

I love the plastic fantastic pin but my favorite was the spinning daisy one! So cute. Very springy & will go fast @ Custers im sure!. Wow, Craftsman isn't made here anymore, that is soooo sad, nothing is made here anymore. Get this in California all fastfood employees make $20 an hour and minimum wage is $17 an hour which means waitresses make that an hour which would mean less tips they are all expecting 25% tip on top of their high hourly wage. I worked for $2 an hour when I waitressed.
It is sad, but Sears only seems to exist in Mexico now, Americans stopped shopping there. Meanwhile, you're sure right about the cost of employees going up--I got $3.35/hour when I started in fast food, but then again, I paid $100 rent for a huge basement apartment and they pay $1500+ for a studio, so I guess it's all relative

What is the difference between a filigree perfume bottle and a chatelaine perfume bottle?
Filagree is open wire work, while a chatelaine hangs from a chain and can be made in any style
