if you remember well - there was only one round of soldiers - the one Allan took (that was earlier than their official release) and after the Allan's incident they pulled all of them back, except for the one last truck that Chip hijacked. It could very well be that there was no other chip in there, or that there was, but they didn't show it. If you remember we later see more Nicks (from the truck) so there could be 1 more chip at most. but no more.
@Juni Post Doesn't make sense. He recruited all those other toys and you think if they are allies, there would be more chip hazards. Also, with AI, you could also think that every toy would react differently in any situation, similar to how Ultron and Vision were brought up.

Still a great scene, but I didn't realise all those years ago that under the assumption that every one of these five thousand chips was used in the toys, there's a massive loose end by the movies end. What about all the other Gorgons and Commandos? It was shown that the latter are smart enough to know how to fabricate life in other dolls to act as backup troops, who's to say they're incapable of biding their time, finding out how to make more copies of themselves and continuing elsewhere? Unless every last model only found its way into Allen's neighbourhood. That said, this is a classic and will probably always be remembered fondly by people who know it. Except the Nostalgia Critic, but that review felt like he was grasping at straws most of the time.
During the movie when Major Chip Hazard saw the globotech toy store after the original commando elite were destroyed it is briefly explained by the Joe (the guy who drives the toy truck) that both the commando elite and gorgonites have been recalled by the company so they were probably all taken apart however after the final battle the CEO states " I know some rebels in south America who are going to find these toys very entertaining" So they might have reprogrammed some of the toys to stop hunting for the gorgonites all together

Did you know that printer could print a completely enclosed box with functional gears. The detail in unlike anything that is available even today. I don't know if they intended the atmosphere to be this way but the way they show this creation scene seems almost like it's reflecting off evolution, the wax model being the substitute for primordial soup.

The Lazer is special effects, the rest is pretty accurate. 3d printing also has been around since the 80s. No predictions here. I saw this machine in actions 2 years after the move. I was a 3d programmer in 2000.
Ya. But why stop at just the small soldiers imagine having your favorite characters from books, tv shows, movies comics. Manga. Hell if this Tech was out there we could be having a miniature Son Goku trying to catch norma sized (But bigger than him) Fish.
That was the entire point. The film was to Toy Story 1 what Antz was to A Bug's Life. (albeit deliberately aimed at an older audiance more interested in grittier action)

This was a real thing then. Liquid resin. It's capabilities weren't even expressed. That is a very impressive printer. Much more impressive then what's available today for consumers. Home 3D printers are equivalent to things available commercially in the 80s
Should do an R-Rated sequel where the corrupt GloboTech realise how effective the toys were and send them out into real life combat scenarios. Dark humor. Lots of gore.

RIP to Dick Miller aka "Joe" the Truck Driver 1928-2019
I always think of him as the gun shop owner from The Terminator. 😂
He reminded me of columbo
I like how there is only 1 Chip Hazzard used throughout the movie. Chip wanted to be the only leader :^)
+billypie I was just mentioning how he didn't activate the other Chip Hazard toys.

That 3D printer is still better than anything we got on the market today. 2019 that is, maybe this comment will be wrong in some years.
Well for home use. Plenty of industrial 3D printers like this exist, they are just huge and costs a lot of money to buy/maintain.
