    There’s way too many factors that may go into this. Misadjusted clutch or even improper use even though these are made to be slipped excessively. There does seem to be some connection though.

    Wonder if they are running plain Yamalube and not changing regularly... I run full synthetic Yamalube and change it every 3-5 hours as I race mine. After 2 seasons of racing, I upgraded to a rekluse and my stock clutch came out looking like brand new, except for the half disk. I will have to give this some thought before next season, I do not want any issues. Thanks for the video.

    • @MrCuervoRacing
      @MrCuervoRacing  Před 4 lety +1

      i think the issue is more based on the application which is normally sand dunes for almost all our local customers.

  • @trailblogger
    @trailblogger Před 3 lety

    Ah great, I literally just did an oil change yesterday using Yamalube. Guess I will change it again lol. Do you think it also could be from some customers not adjusting their clutch correctly with no play at the end?

    • @Tiedyedbohemian
      @Tiedyedbohemian Před 3 lety +1

      I switched to Mobil 1 10w-40 4T motorcycle oil that’s sold in parts stores and Walmart I believe just as good as Amsoil IMO and much more easily accessible. I noticed smoother/cleaner shifts and a little quieter engine.

  • @mxthunder2
    @mxthunder2 Před 4 lety +1

    Love your content but I have to disagree here. I have been running yamalube in all my yfz's and raptors for almost 20 years, and never had a single issue with discoloration of the steels or slippage. There is something else at play. Never thought about trying to use the older style YFZ fibers. I have never cracked a newer style one, but the older ones do look beefier.

    • @MrCuervoRacing
      @MrCuervoRacing  Před 4 lety +4

      the abuse load that sand applies is much greater then any dirt surface, so more load is put to the clutch,.,
