I really like how this piano version makes the harmonies/chords clearer and easier to follow, while still retains some of the drama. It helps that Monsieur Ravel himself wrote the arrangement.
all versions of this piece are so hard.. if i practice diligently, i know i can play this but it looks so overwhelming that i dont know if i even want to… but they play it SOOOO well.. it’s almost like the piece was written for two pianos, like it was written for them!! man! really gives me the motivation.
Justin, perhaps you're listening through basic computer speakers? And need to hear this through some good speakers. The playing is both elegant and stylistically French, with humor and lilt. Admittedly, on 2 pianos some of the chords come across more percussively than with strings in the orchestra version. The ensemble is perfect!
Rest in peace Nelson Freire. You were a legend along with Argerich in this duet.

Il pezzo più elegante, raffinato, sinuoso, avvolgente scritto da Ravel. Suonato così, poi... Senza parole, se non due: pura magia

Best interpretation of two pianos version!!
the best interpretation i think of all including the orchestral versions!

two pianos yes, but for orchestra no. Bernstein was the best for orchestra, well for me.

Their live performance in 1982 is even better than this one
오음..
Piano battering
The sheet music isn't even in sync with the audio, bad video
I agree, it was very frustrating to follow.
Excessive rubato ruins this. Great shame.
It's a piano rendition, not the orchestral Valse. I find the rubato quite appropriate.
