Great discovery! Ignore the negative comments- some people are so ignorant. It's obvious that you were only leaving the turf upside down to hi-light where the finds were. And even if you weren't, it's a field (made up of couch and meadow grass), not a front lawn. Some people always want to find a negative, like when you're working on a building site and the new guy turns up and everyone wants to find fault with what he's doing. They need to grow up and enjoy what they're seeing. Great vid guys, well done!
I have watched 100`s of vid`s on detector finds but that was the best ever, two nice people, filmed good, exciting, two great machine`s, I had the X-Terra, a great machine but bit heavy and bad balance for me, ( back problem`s ) I now have the Deus, nice and light... Really enjoyed it, thanks...
One of the best vids iv'e seen, i was completly glued to the screen all the way though..Well done lads on a truely magnificant find...GL&HH Not as you need it... Carl
WOW! Fantastic! well done lads! The video was exiting for me...god knows how you felt digging them! i have found a few , but only one at a time! brill video! cheers,G;)
Amazing find, well done guys. Just shows the benefits of carrying a decent camera when you go out. I was able to do the same and film live when my mate and I found that recent hoard of Silver staters. John, borrow yourself a CTX now and go over it a lot slower, remember, Minelab, slow & low, there will definitely be more, lol.
+Gerry G glad you enjoyed it gerry... ;-) fingers crossed more will follow..... been over with the deus.... now ive got a ctx 3030 and im gonna be getting a 17 inch coil over the area... see if that winkles any more out...
I can't seem to put my head around how all of those hammered coins were scattered everywhere. Lucky field chaps. Good on ya! In Germany, I have been digging for 3 years and only found 4 Roman but no hammered.
Thank you for such an entertaining video I've only ever found 1 Hammy and I was over the moon you guys must have been in heaven. I really enjoyed this keep them coming please. I've just subscribed ty
I'd scan the whole area in a grid, make doubly sure there are no more. Then I'd tell the farmer I'm hiring a turf-lifter. Roll that sucker up and scan the bare ground. You'd get another three inches out of that field, easily. When the job is done, just roll out the turf again. Farmer would understand.
Something we all dream of in this hobby. Well done guys absolutely brilliant finds. Glued to the screen the whole time, how lucky can you be? haha HH and good luck in your future hunts. congrats
An inquest determines whether a coin hoard of precious metals has been deliberately buried or accidentally lost. In the former case the finder is reimbursed the full value of the coins which is then shared with the owner of the land. The deliberately buried items are classified as Treasure Trove.
Nice going , great finds. There will be many more coins still there and lots still to deep . You need to find the pot before the night hawkers now move in
I swear you think everyone is ocd they put the plugs back the right way after don't get your panties in a bunch. awesome video guys wish we had stuff like that here, all I find is modern coins and the odd silver ring.
What a great video! well done guys, great teamwork and a good tip about placing the sods upside down, I'll be sure to do that when i find a hoard! p.s. Your mate should celebrate by getting a new belt lol
Amazing hoard nice video aswell only the 1 cut half for me so far using minelab explorer se pro, just need land like yours made me jealous :) but I enjoyed that half hour watching
Thanks for feed back, some replies; Sods left upside down to show where we had found an item to see iof there was a pattern They were all Henry 111 including one Irish cut half and one Dutch Esterling of Brabant C 1267 - 1294, looking like a long cross penny
I would have ad a heart attack finding 1 lol never mind all them just started detecting myself a few weeks ago dream about finds like this well done guys
Hi Great video, the coins speak for themselves welldone. on a different note I like your sheath for the digging knife, any idea where I can get one.? thanks
these coins were spread among fields of battle to honor the dead and pay the fairy man, when casualties were high in number they paid the field of battle rather then an individual soldier to assure a safe passage. you might have landed on field littered with more valuable historical treasure's keep digging
Great video, well pleased for all concerned. Just a thought, these people with their negative coments must get horrified when they see a field full of mole hills!
As a numismatist these are silver pennies of Henry 111 long cross type. both types were made short cross also. If you find short cross they will Richard 1 king John and Henry. without looking at them close cannot say. Do not rub coins with your fingers because wet and dry earth act like sandpaper. Cleaned coins loose all their value to collector, and will become worthless.
Did you not find the main pot of coins? It was obviously struck by the plow and scattered, but the main lot of treasure should be at a larger depth. You need to go back with the type of detector that finds deep meteorites, and locate the buried pot.
Jozsef Nyisztor the hoard could have been put in a leather bag which means it could have rotted away within a few hundred years leaving the coins scattered about.
That’s was great watching this video, great finds there guys, what a day you had, enjoyed watching, thanks for sharing.

After the turf is up, dig the earth, screen the soil, backfill, lay the sod back.

Interesting vid. But, HELL is that traffic noise. Glad I live way down here !!!!
Hello,
What settings is best for the X terra 705 on pasture?
SID: can you say what the settings you used on the Deus? Thanks and well done both of you.
Hello hunter. Greeting from Albania
I remember a young kid having a cheap Garret 150. He found more coins than we did I think he just dug every signal
ignore negative comments.just jealous you did better than they can do.great vid and finds that have inspired me to get a new hobby
I'm sure that 705 with the DD coil can hear much deeper if you slow the swing down and listen to the squeaks.
A bit slow here....please do time lapse to keep viewers interested! Great treasures, but almost fell asleep watching....thanks.
Susan Roberts lmfao you cant be a detectorist... it not everyday you find a hoard
I would have ad a heart attack finding 1 lol never mind all them just started detecting myself a few weeks ago dream about finds like this well done guys
Hi Great video, the coins speak for themselves welldone. on a different note I like your sheath for the digging knife, any idea where I can get one.? thanks
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WELL DONE, MATE.
Nice!!!
impressive recovery speed on the Deus. The Tesoro Tejon has an extremely quick recovery speed too, also picks up the small items
Great find :-) why are you replacing all the cores of turf upside down though?
Hi could you tell me what,Hz your minilab X-Trail 705 is on
I'd love to know what happened all those years ago to scatter so much money in such a small area.
these coins were spread among fields of battle to honor the dead and pay the fairy man, when casualties were high in number they paid the field of battle rather then an individual soldier to assure a safe passage. you might have landed on field littered with more valuable historical treasure's keep digging
was this an old farmers market ? with a night of frivolity afterwards?
Where they all Henry III? Lovely finds guys!
Great video, well pleased for all concerned. Just a thought, these people with their negative coments must get horrified when they see a field full of mole hills!
cheers paul

+Jozsef Nyisztor no not yet... gotta get the digger in at some point
How do you know the coins were in a pot and not a sack with a hole in?
Jozsef Nyisztor the hoard could have been put in a leather bag which means it could have rotted away within a few hundred years leaving the coins scattered about.
Who's the lad showing his underwear in his work clothes.
At 00:32 he drops one but at 01:04 he picks it up.
What a day you had..........
