... first hayride show in TX 1954 adults admission 75 cents and this last show 1956 $2.50 ... quite a raise for back in those days... haha.... funny how my mom met Elvis at the beginning of the Hayride shows '54 when they played Grenada, MS (Red's first show as asked by Elvis for security) my mom and her sister hung out with Elvis and his boys after the show just sitting around talking in my aunt's car.... what's super cool... as my mom went back inside the venue to use the restroom my aunt allowed Elvis to go inside my mom's wallet and kept a photo of her out of there...... innocent Elvis back then brand new but grew famous by the second back then to this intensity in this video '56.. amazing man !! I still to this day drive by Graceland every weekend I'm in Memphis..... hoping to get a job as curator of Elvis' dad's house on the next street over that's fixing to come avail. to the public.. wish me luck folks
I hope you do I cant wait until I finally get to visit Memphis by this summer. I've yet to go but its very important to me not only am I fan but my siblings and their dad side are related to the Presley side of the family. My mom married into it young having 3 kids herself so hes a distant cousin to my brother and sisters. Which is interesting for me & what got me so interested to learn about who he was after being told things as a child. I cant wait to finally visit Graceland and other areas the 1st time ever even if I have to make the trip alone. Hes an important part of history to me.
You lived the biggest moment in pop music history! Man, was this hot! I imagine parents listening to Doris Day and then came Elvis: The world must have stood still for a while! And over the top of all, Elvis had the best voice ever!
My friend saw Led Zeppelin in 1977 for $9.50. That was super expensive then! Apparently most bands charged $5-$7 then or $10 for a billing of many bands.
@@jurivlk5433 Doris Day did a Movie called; "Don't Eat The Daisies", many years ago. She volunteered at the local HIGH School, the students wanted to do a Play/Show about History of Music, with Costumes, Dances. The Teacher with the School Board wouldn't allow them to do any MODERN DANCES {Rock N' Roll}. Doris backed up the Kids and FOUGHT with all the School Board Members. . .DORIS & Kids. . ."W O N"! ! I have always wondered what Doris Day thought of Elvis & His Style :) :) :) There was another OLD Movie with a similar Script. Not Blackboard Jungle or To Sir With Love. I've tried to REMEMBER the name for YEARS?
If we didn't have the audio there's no way we could have had even the feel of the concert. Thanks for your brilliant work. The only other work that can compare to this is the music video of "I gotta know.". Well, after some thought, I do think there's another superb work out there featuring the September 26, 1956 concert in Tupelo. The ultimate shame of this is that it shows that there could have been a full concert recorded. (A part of the September 26 ... concert is around). Certainly, talking movies had around since at least as far back as 1929. Why not Elvis? There's some concert stuff by the Beatles available. The last concert of the 1950s from Elvis exists in part, thankfully. And again, I'm thankful that some people had recorded something! 😀
Shreveport born & raised too late lol. The quality may suck but we are lucky they recorded his every move from the beginning not knowing for sure he'd make it big. Other wise we would not get to see all these and those of us born after would never know the amazing part of history of Elvis Aron Presley. I think they did it before but this is really the beginning of Elvis has left the building so fans wouldnt follow him & sometimes he hadn't yet & they still tried & caught him lol
A band member once said after he passed, they were the only band guided & directed by an ass lol. They said anytime they couldn't see on stage or where he was the screams would tell them where he was. It was soo loud they over screamed the music & singing & the lights were bright on stage at times. I thought it was funny 🤣 & just imagine you see him grabbing his ear alot back then performing especially with the band or singers behind him. They didnt have ear plugs they do now for singers when on stage to help them focus & hear better.

@@davidsandz2186 Your parents were wrong. I'm right, that's the difference. Just listen to this music. Even while yelling to be heard in the teenagers screaming, Elvis is still perfectly singing. It's the best voice in history.
The girls screamed and Elvis played right to them. I hope he was having fun. The King is missed ❤️❤️❤️
Coolest guy in history, best pop singer, terribly good looking man and a man full of humour and intelligence.
ELVIS AARON PRESLEY - CHANGED THE WORLD -
The very first recorded instance of 'ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has left the building!'
I saw Elvis at the Boston Garden in 1971. He was just as electric then as he is in this concert!
My first love of my life god you are the one who taught so much about love just through your movies and songs the one who first stole my heart.
jessica home and mine 😍
YES INDEED - WELL SAID - I ALSO FEEL WHAT YOU FEEL -

A breathtaking version of "Long Tall Sally."

But they could sing and play and were not morons like today's artists!
