When my daughter was in High School she took a small engines class. She ended up helping the boys in the class. Now she’s 42 and has fixed several of her home appliances by herself. I had even given her and her older brother tool boxes with some basic tools for Christmas one year.

Totally right on Kevin. 🎯 We have raised chickens and kept very close account they are not a money-making Venture. Maybe if... you multitask them and have a lot of them with a base of customers. You might be lucky to halfway break-even. Having the chickens is good for bug control it's good for the soil it helps fertilize and remove all kinds of things that we don't even know. 🕷 so these chickens are there and are serving a very important part of the land, which is permaculture ...in it's complete cycle.
Anyway ignore the whiners who are rude to you and keep on clucking... I mean tricking 😁🎵🎶🎶

What you told your son about learning to fix stuff is right on target! My husband wasn’t that type and we always have to hire someone and that is expensive.
I was by my dads side working on vehicles and anything around the house that needed fixing since I was old enough to go to school. Handing him tools at first of course but as the years went by and my dad grew older our roles reversed and eventually he was handing me tools or holding a light for me. It was many years of quality time together and the skill set saved lots of repair bills too. I would give anything to have him around still even for a day...

When I was a little girl, I was always by my dad's side when he was working on the car, gardening, fishing, hunting, cooking, etc., so I could learn to take care of things on my
own. I would even watch my one grandpa. I would even watch and help my grandmas cook and bake.

Kids are growing like weeds! Especially Caleb! He seems more like an intellectual rather than a hands on kind of guy. But Kayla on the other hands seems like a hands on kind of kid! She'll be driving the tractor before long ( if Dad let's her LOL!) (Just like Brooke on Cog Hill Farm!)

Oh MY is Caleb getting tall! He reminds me of my "little" cousin. When I was getting ready to go to college, he was about a head shorter than me...came back from that first year from college and he was over 6 ft tall. Those boys grow like weeds sometimes! I talked to my friend last night in California. 1 dozen eggs in San Diego is 10 dollars. I choked. Like you we share our eggs with neighbors, friends, and family. I could never sell them.
I watched a CZcams lady show what she does with her extra eggs. She puts twelve eggs in her processor. Once it is blended she puts the eggs in a gallon freezer bag. She places it in the freezer on a flat surface. She said she has eggs year round even if the don’t lay in cold weather. I think it is great that you give eggs to the dogs. It’s good to see Rachel and the kids. From Kentucky.
