Everyone says it’s going to be okay... but when?! When is it gonna be okay that i don’t have my dad anymore? When is it gonna be okay that I don’t get to see the person I love the most ever again? AT WHAT POINT IS THAT “OKAY”?

I know how you feel. And I wanna tell you that you will miss him forever and that is completely normal because you love him.And maybe right now you just spend your days missing him but in a year or two you will start to live again and you will miss him BUT you will accept that he's gone even if It hurts. And not suffering anymore or not thinking about him everyday doesn't mean you don't love him anymore and so you don't have to feel guilty about that.It means you love him so much that you are moving on for him.You said that you will never see him again and that is true.BUT you will find other ways of keeping him close to you,you won't touch him,you won't hug him but you will feel him while looking at the sky,or while listening to his favorite song or while doing something you used to do with him and trust me sometime you will feel him while you are just laying on your bed or washing the dishes. You never lose someone who is part of you.

LJ Productions hey, my mom died when I was 8, (I’m 14 now) and here’s my advice to you 💛
-cry and sob, feel yourself panicking and wait the attacks out. Don’t suppress your feelings
-talk to your school counselor, or another counselor, or a teacher (Idk how old you are)
-accept that she wasn’t perfect, but was a good person who didn’t deserve to die. Don’t idolize her though because then you feel like you have to live up to this larger than life figure in your head
-you will think about her everyday and that’s ok, eventually it will just become a part of life.
-you are still human. And you will grow stronger. I know you don’t want to grow stronger, you want it to stay the way it was, you want to be fragile and broken, and you can be, but know at the end of the road you will, whether you want it or not, be more mature and strong than before.
-my siblings lost faith after my moms death, but I didn’t.
-it will. Get. Easier. To. Cope. With, give it a week, a month, however long you can imagine living without her live it, and then live it again
-I know it hurts to talk about her and you don’t have to talk about her with everyone but I implore you PLEASE talk to someone you trust it will help so so much.
-you will be different because of it, but you will not be outcasted from society. You will still have friends and you will still have a life, just a slightly different life than a majority of those around you
-things will trigger you. I’ve been watching Steven universe and through watching it have cried 3-4 times about missing mom.
-you will either become more compassionate and try to help the world, or lose touch with the world and protect only yourself, find a balance please
-self care is soooo important, sleep, eat, bathe, take care of yourself
-get some good friends and family (female) to teach you to shave your legs and makeup and stuff if you are at that age
-not everyone will understand, but almost everyone will sympathize and try to help to the best of their ability. You are loved and people pray for you every night whether you know it or not (Again idk if your Christian but if you aren’t it’s the thought of someone thinking of you each night)
-no matter the highs and lows you experience you will be ok. You will, will be ok and survive and you have to believe in your ability to survive, and your ability to laugh and cope if you want to have the best life you can. You have to know that this death has changed who you are, but you are still you. You haven’t lost a part of yourself when she died. That part of yourself has simply changed.
-you will, in time, find coping mechanisms, maybe that’s crying whenever you need too, making morbid jokes (that’s my favorite) or volunteering more, or forgetting it ever happened. Your body can survive this and your brain will survive this.
-find an outlet. I write songs and stuff (I write and sing a lot and post them on CZcams but I private most all of them cuz they’re just for me) but it can be anything
-and finally, please PLEASE find a counselor or teacher you trust, someone SOMEONE you can vent to and feel safe sobbing in front of. I know I keep repeating this but it helps the healing process tremendously. I just started counseling and it’s emotionally exhausting crying so much but it helps, so, dang, much.
I lost my mom to breast cancer metastasized to the liver, and you have to remember that in a year it will feel better, a month it will feel better, a week it will feel better, a day, a hour. You will always have days you cry but after a couple of years a majority of your life will be normal. 💛💙💕💞♥️❣️💚🌼

My boyfriend lost his mum when she was just 39. He was 21 at the time. She was the only parent in his life and they were very close. She had a heart attack at home after feeling unwell, and despite our best efforts to save her, she died 5 days later. He was made homeless 8 weeks after losing her, and lived in a hotel until the council could assess the situation and offer him a flat of his own.
Its not easy watching someone you love cope with an enormous loss. Its created a lot of stress on both of us, and we are both dealing with depression. However, we stick together through thick and thin, and will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary in October. I wish she could see how much of a strong person he has grown into, i know she would be so proud of him.

I tried my best to act “normal” when my dad passed away. Being away from home and haven’t had seen him in years, plus the troubled relation we had -which I was hoping to resolve one day (death was faster; that day never came), all that put me on the very edge of a breakdown and I didn’t want show any emotions and have to talk about it. I remember walking aimlessly in the streets, then going inside Nordstrom rack store, crying, weeping between racks of clothes. He passed away around Father’s Day which is coming soon. The pain of dealing with this anniversary is agonizing.

She had a huge role in raising me and I took the loss not easily. Losing someone so close to you is one of the most difficult things we ever have to face. One thing that may help is internalizing their memory and living out lives in the spirit of their memory. Dedicating success to them and also realizing that our lost loved ones would want us to become stronger and grow from the experience.

I haven't lost any parent but I'm still crying after watching this. I'll always rely on them, and as mentioned in the video, loosing that safety and stability a parent always gives you will be so hard. Whether I'm 13 (age now) or 40, it's going to be heart breaking. I love them so much and they mean the world to me...what would I do without them? Everyone sharing their stories are so strong.

Piece of advice that you should take seriously. Make time for your mom. Make time for your dad. Soak in every minute and show them all the love you feel. Don't hold back because it's not cool, or think they already know. At 13, you prioritize your friends. Friends come and go, they're temporary. They also aren't there if you need something, or are sick, or hurt. Your parents will ALWAYS be there. They always make time. Then one day theyre gone. Forever.
My biggest regret isn't what I did with my dad, it's what I didn't do. My education, my friends, my boyfriend, my job... Everything slipped into being more important than the most precious person to me. I thought he'd always be there waiting. I had plenty of time. I didnt. It was a clock, ticking down, of time, I waisted. I would give everything I had just ... One... More... Day.

Covid is his new ultimate fear and it happened to him. I feel so sorry for him and I feel extremely sad because I feel like he has more things to teach me about in life. It was really tragic when he was in the hospital. We can't visit him there cuz we might get infected. I last talked to him last Sept 30, 2021. It was a short talk and I couldn't believe that was the last time I would talk to my daddy. It hurts so much. I couldn't believe it. It was very unexpected. He was our bread winner. He was the glue in our family. And now that he's gone. Nothing's the same anymore. Everything feels like a dream now. My whole life is like a dream now after what happened because all my life, reality was him being alive and healthy.

I lost my father suddenly 17 years ago and it was not until that fateful day did I ever think my parents may not always be here. I miss him and always will. It is important to do all you can each day and try to never have any regrets - regrets make dealing with an impossible situation even more difficult. I was blessed to be close to my dad and he taught me the millions of things in life for the 35 years I was blessed to have with him. He never took life for granted, not one day, not even a second and neither do I. Take care, and have faith.

I lost my father to cancer just last year. His first death anniversary is just around the corner and this video is just so perfectly timed. I find it hard sharing with people about what I go through because I am often told “its a part of life” or “deal with it, nothing can be done” and even “just move on already” . It’s very hard. I can’t just move on. I have lost someone so dear to me. Someone very important. How can I move on and get over losing someone in a year or so when they have been my stronghold ever since I was a babe? I don’t know why but the pain doesn’t go away or lessen. The pain I have felt before is still the same now. Maybe someday I can say that it has gotten better- or that I have gotten better at dealing with the pain. People would never undestand until it happens to them. I wish there is more empathy shown for those who have lost a loved one. Hard can’t even cross how terrible it feels.

My grief was personal and i realize last year that i had no recollection of the year 2015 , because i operated like a robot , during the murder investigation and a whole year after. Lost my dad two weeks ago and listening to these stories, it's clear losing a parent at any age is painfu. My dad was only in his late 50s. It felt like someone stabbed me in the chest and I'll never get back the person who understood me more than anyone.

I lost my dad when I was 14 and my brother was 11. This really hit home and was very helpful. It’s been 5 months he died only 2 days after Christmas Cancer changed him I couldn’t cope. I still struggle now it’s so hard so I can’t stress to you how much you should cherish your parents. He was amazing I miss him more and more today. His cancer was supposed to be easily curable

It’s so hard to imagine the rest of my life without him bc I had imagined doing so many things and having him there at my high school graduation and my wedding but I lost him to suicide after him and my mom split and I will never be the same. I love you dad🤧❤️❤️❤️

i lost my dad just over a week ago. Mentally It's like i'm lost in limbo, all the joy has left my body and i can't see how it will return. My dad was my safe place in this world someone who was always kind and loving towards me and now I don't have that. Waking up is the worst, because i'm only painfree when I'm asleep. Reading others peoples stories is helping me a bit so im grateful for this video and these comments.

just today my mum and i were given the news that my dad passed away. he had lung cancer and was in the hospice in the last few days of his life and i remember just being on a call with him yesterday right after school and his last words to me being "i love you too, i'm so excited to see you this weekend again"; he seemed so lively and happy these past few days, his death feels so surreal to me,, feels as if hed call me any minute to tell me he just slept in and forgot to call, but i know it wont happen.

Big love to anyone reading this and has lost a parent or both. My dad died very suddenly from cancer last year at 51 and I honestly didn’t want to be alive anymore. The thought of losing more people I love throughout my life is so painful but over time, the pain and sadness became easier to bear and there are so many things worth living for.
I do believe there is something out there and it’s not the end.

I am so sorry for you losing your dad like that and with the Pandemic making it so difficult for those who lose a loved one in death. We always miss the ones we love. My fathered travelled for his work so it wasn't strange for him not to be at home. It felt like he was "away" until one day you admit that he isn't coming back. I am comforted to know what the Bible says about death, that it is an enemy and the hope of seeing my dad again on the earth in a Paradise like originally created. Without that hope I don't know where I would be. Stay safe, I am thinking of you.

To everyone who has lost a parent,
I'm so sorry. I cannot even imagine the pain you go through day in and day out.
I don't even know you. I don't know your name, life story... anything. But I hope each and everyone of you, understand that we are all here for you.
    Much love ❤

I lost my dad back in 2018, when I was 18 years old. He had methastatic stomach cancer. He was definitely my best friend back when I was a kid, but we started losing contact in my teenage years. It hurts so much to think that I lost my last moments with him. I didn't expect him to be gone so soon.
Anyway, if you've lost a parent or a loved one recently: it does get better. I promise. You'll feel like everything is a whole blur at first, it will feel surreal, and it'll hurt. But you'll get through it eventually.
I'm one of those who think you can't actually "get through" a loss, entirely, I think it's always a part of you. But it does get better. You may find yourself reminiscing memories from the past when you were with them, you may get frustrated over how much you would like to share something with them, but it's normal. It keeps us close to them. No one is gone if they're still on your head.
Everything gets better, you just gotta hold on a little ♥

To all of those hurting, I lost my mother 1yr ago. There’s ups and downs. Don’t bottle it up. Cry. Crying is so great for you and you know that you can take the time to miss them whenever you need to. It can be something that may interrupt something but still you owe it to yourself to keep loving them even though they are gone.❤
