I don't speak Arabic but when I watched that interview & listened to Bassem for the first time, I had a feeling that he is either Iraqi or Egyptian. Both have really gifted sense of humor and sharp mind together according to my experience ❤ Mashallah
I got to know him just yesterday and it because of the ongoing issues with Israel and Hamas/Palestine. I must say he is a brilliant man and a good comedian.
This is the only single good thing he made, not because he stood with the good cause but because it's personal otherwise all his acts shows how mediocre hypocrite liar dog of west he is.
i mean i did too, but if you investigate his history further you realise he just jokes about everyone, so everyone loves him and hates him at the same time. he speaks up for palestine but at the same time he ridiculed the government that would be standing up for palestine. what i mean basically is that he the biggest hypocrite, which doesnt mean that i dont see his current point of view as the right one.
Nahhh, it's the stupidy of people you can judge by the volume of their laughter. He and his fans are a very good example. All it takes make them laugh and you can put any sh$t you want in their heads.
I don't think the expression should be taken too literally. - It might also be about a comedian's freedom to express him/herself to the audience - and if a comedian can speak more freely to entertain or parody or satirise, and the audience is free to laugh at that representation, then you have more freedom of expression for the performer, the audience - and by extention - everyone in that society. I believe that is what he was trying to say.
@@user-ir8lw6vq3o Sadly, lot of people use the concept freedom of expression to spread hate and lies and the irony is that usually they are the one who don't accept it for themselves and sadly Bassem is one of them. For instance, if I say that you are stupid and a close minded person and someone who support criminals and believe media known for lies without thinking. How do you find that? freedom of expression!?
I support balance. - I don't support innacurate reporting, however I do believe that a free press is one of the pillars of democracy. - I wouldn't consider myself a closed-minded person. - I have experienced some interactions with my muslim neighbours. As a 65 year old guy, it's great to see younger people looking at both sides of the debate. - For so many years it's been 'Israel is righteous and powerful and good.' The Arabs have always been sucessfully portrayed in the media as the perpetual bad guys, even as Israeli bulldozers claim more of their land, and soldiers evict Palestinian people from their homes. Yes, Israelis are faithful and intelligent and industrious - but does that give them the right? - It's good to see both sides more evenly represented.
