This is real talk. I'm glad to hear this being brought up again. When trump became president, his defamatory comments towards others were the first sign to me that we were in for a ride. This, if not anything else, is exactly the reason why he should never be president again. He ruined their lives and it's unthinkable that Rudy is saying he didn't cause them damage. Ruby had to leave her home and shut down her business. Shay, a person who encouraged others to vote, a pivotal member of her work and society, had to quit her job. I want both trump and Rudy to be sued by them.
The mother had a clothing shop that was high end & everyone knew her & respected her, that she had to shut down & close. They were both afraid to go out in their own town in case someone might call out their names. They had to move out of their homes because of threats.
The most powerful man in the world singled out two ordinary women doing a public service. They had no money, no power, no powerful friends, no Secret Service protection. Yet he singled them out by name to be threatened and harassed and, possibly, harmed.

I remember watching the Jan 6th committee hearings. There were a lot of sad tales, but none more than Ruby and her daughter Shay's and what was done to them because of that lie! My eyes teared up for a lot of their testimony, but it wasn't until 'Lady' Ruby's testimony when she said that never in her wildest dreams did she ever think that the president of the United States would put a target on her back. Very comforting to hear that the testimony of the poll workers in front of the j6 committee caused tears to fall for these guys. I cried, too. It hurt so bad knowing the amount of sorrow and pain they went through at the hands of liars calling themselves leaders in our country. It truly was a sad day.

My parents worked at the elections many years ago when they were still alive, it breaks my heart anyone would have to be subject to this horrible treatment by Trump and Giuliani. I hope the plaintiffs receive compensation for being defamed... having to abandon your residence to avoid threats IS "damage".
