FLY TYING TIP: How to stack hair better than this

If you get a lot of butt ends when trying to align your tips while stacking your hair, do this easy trick.

I’m doing this backwards maybe wrong. I but the hairs cut side facing the stacker, as opposed to the outer hair side facing the stacker. Is there a reason why you put the hair in that way?

The butt ends where you cut from the hide are thicker and stiffer, making it easier to stack
