    Like so many others I am So glad I have found this. I am more intrigued as to how you came up with this. This is thinking out side the box. Simple but very effective. I often come up with ideas to make a job more simple. Its a shame that there is not a big enough market for this. You could have made a few bob out of this. Well done and thanks for sharing. Don't suppose you have many more great ideas by chance. I will sub just in case. Shaun.

      I put the knitting machine needle I have into the vice and used the loop and clip to knot the feather to start with. Then figured I didn't need to lock the clip if I had a another post beside the hook. Hence the use of a paper clip, it was easy to shape and readily available.

    I use a safety pin because the sharpened point is less jagged than the cut end

    • @DannyEnglish-flytying
      @DannyEnglish-flytying  Před dnem

      I found the paper clip easier to shape than a pin.
      If it works for you, then who am I to question your method.
      Saves a lot of time, more time for tying flies!! 😉

    Может пригодится-при завязывании используйте кусочек монтажной нити, а узелок с мочить лаком. Лапки очень привлекательны для рыбы и очень быстро обрывается. С нитью прочнее, вам успехов!

    Just get a crochet needle works way easier.

    • @DannyEnglish-flytying
      @DannyEnglish-flytying  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Tried it, tried a needle from a knitting machine as well, both work, but I wanted something that was easier for me to tie them with.
      Every man to his own, if a crochet needle works for you, then that's your preferred method.
      I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, it's a video to show the method I use and find easier than anything I've tried already.

      English is my surname, so I may blame my father for having to call myself by my surname!! 🤷🏻‍♂️
