I've come back to GTA with a new character and I don't know if it's my experience or what but it feels like the Red Dead vibe of tipping your hat to people has bled back into GTA with folks tooting their horns and helping to punish griefers to keep lobbies non-toxic. Maybe I'm imagining it, but I'd like to think late-era GTA Online achieves some sort of "chill equilibrium" where there's enough threat to be interesting but also plenty of good community players after so many years of toxicity.
