My buddy's would leave my house with our swiss army knives and Dinty Moore Stew, sleeping bags, and other accoutrements, walk down a creek very narrow with banks on each side very high to a waterfall where we would make camp underneath,(regardless of the weather), we would make camp, gather firewood etc, make a fire,Dinty Moore Stew, then I would pull out my cue ball shaped green radio and then Mystery Theater Radio!!! A great 70's childhood memory! This is for my brother's. D,B,J,J,M and the rest who aren't here anymore. Great time's.
I just luv anything w/Fred Gwynne in it. Not only was he adorable as Herman Munster, but, he’s hysterically excellent in this CBSRMT episode!! I smile, listening to him describing his perilous adventures w/Penny! He’s just great, the very BEST in voice acting! 👍
I remember this show when I was a child. I thought they were old shows, though. Had no idea they were new at the time. Sounded like old-fashioned radio plays. They were fantastic and still are now to me as an adult.
I love listening and slipping off, figured out i needed to switch the auto play button after the first time when i woke up hours later with weird videos playing lol
Hello New Sub here. Thanks for posting this. I grew up in 1970s-1980s with only a radio. I NEVER grew up with a television. Me & my Daddy would sit up later & listen to the radio mystery theater. My mother could never stay up & listen with us. Too scary for her Lol. GREAT MEMORIES! Im LISTENING from the APPALACHIANS to one of favorite ACTORS. Love this episode.. .
Ha ha ha ha ha!! Fred Gwyne is just brilliant!!!! I'm listening to this on my own and laughing my head off, my neighbours must think I'm a lunatic as all they can hear is me chuckling my head off, old sport!!!!
Thank you for the episode, and the news at the end as well. That really takes me back to this last hurrah before bed I enjoyed so many nights as a kid. 🙏
Anyone else notice when listening to this how fascinating it is to hear the news from back then and the fact that nothing is changed. Only gotten worse
Used to listen to this show every night before bed in Jr High School, on my night stand radio. Probably why I like mysteries to this day. Neat to find it online & re live the memories!
I'm really grateful for all these comments as I, too, have the same experience. In fact I sometimes wonder if listening into my sleep could be interfering with healthy rest. Problem is, I enjoy the stories so much and have no intention of giving up listening.
My native language is Portuguese, there's no radio dramas like this in Portuguese language, I really love those old radio dramas, additionally it helps me to improve my broke English.
I wasn’t shocked about Bishop Jakes but I hope more women will wake up to reality and take better care of themselves physically and mentally. Jesus wants us to be happy on earth
@@charrisestroud7039 yup me too. Everyone I hear one, I become 11 years old again and remember listening to these in my grandparents basement on my old transistor radio 📻
CBS Radio Mystery Theater AND CBS Radio News airing on another Seattle radio station KIXI? One would expect both those CBS Radio shows to be heard on KIRO AM or FM radio, seeing that they're CBS radio and TV affiliates, as is TV counterpart KIRO Channel 7.
Didn't they split the marital assets 50/50 back then? Why didn't Porter just divorce her for mental cruelty or some other trumped up nonsense instead of killing her? I'm spoiling the fun, aren't I?

Same here!! I could listen to Fred Gwynne & Mercedes McCambridge in every single story produced ❤️💚💚
Anyone else picture Herman Munster all the while you hear his voice? LOL 👀
@@AV1611Rochester , lol Absolutely!! He would've hated that we think that, but I can't help it.
My favorite episodes have Fred Gwynne & Mercedes McCambridge!

I usually listen to this at night to help me go to sleep. Unfortunately it starts entering my dream
😮
In my dreams also thought it was just me.
@@johnmeszaros2234 Omg that happened to me for the first time 2 nights ago. Had a nightmare after having listened to a particularly scary story.
I had a bad experience in Feb 2019, and ever since and up to the present moment, I only had nightmares, not a single happy or even ordinary dream.
I love listening and slipping off, figured out i needed to switch the auto play button after the first time when i woke up hours later with weird videos playing lol
Fred Gwynne was a talented man whose voice was perfect for the CBS Mystery Theatre. This was a great episode.
Love Fred Gwynne!!!!

I love the news segment at the end. I'm still outraged with the Watergate scandal! lol

Fred Gwynne play roles where the character was not so smart but the real man was a Harvard man
It’s Acute Myelocytic Leukemia, not myoctic. Still love Fred Gwynn.
Scoring from 1 to 10 I give this story a 8
Does anyone else want to marry a lady like that? Just saying that sounds like a hell of a lot of fun.
The main actor sounds like Herman Munster 😊
it was. he was quite talented.

Herman Munster, lol
