When I was in high school all kinds of "old-fashioned" things were popular. I loved listening to the Mystery Theater and try to imagine what it was like before tvs when people sat around listening to the radio. Love it!❤😊

Thank you for the upload. I listen to these as I go to sleep. But sometimes they get so intense, I actually fight the sleepiness and try to listen as long as I can...lol

I assumed what the truth was early, but in what way was the mystery. I honestly can't state whether or not I actually liked this story, because their plight seemed too stressful & drawn out for me to feel particularly happy for them when they finally learned the truth in the end. But maybe that this held my interest all the way, is what makes it work!

A beautiful tale I listened to on June 25th, 2024, from D.K. White. Ironically, I have reached an important crossroads in my life, & was thinking of what my future held for me as last of my family line & living alone going on 9 years now, this episode & the message it delivered in the end, perked me up!🙂💕

Love these stories 🤩... rarely a bad one

In the 1980s I was an autistic recluse kid bookworm who LOVED classic TV shows, old black and white horror movies. Now in my 40s I binge-listen to these episodes and they make me feel at home, make me miss America of the Past. Funnily enough, I ended up majoring in Film Studies and wrote my MA on horror movies. 🌙🔮⚰️

I initially thought this was going to be one of those throwaway sci-fi stories, but what a great twist; these old shows have not gotten old!

All the CBS O&O’s had their local Music Through Dawn programs sponsored by American Airlines. I used to listen on WCBS in New York. Really nice, relaxing instrumentals. Sad when it went away when they switched to all-news formats. There was so much variety to listen to in the 50’s and 60’s - radio redefined itself when the radio networks were dismantled in the 1950’s. Dallas Townsend - there is a great name from the past. Thanks for posting this wonderful recording.

This sounds like it is right off the board. Top 40 aside, in the 60’s ABC O&O stations had great local news. I think you’ve discovered another great channel - local and network radio news from the 50’s and 60’s. I could listen to these as often as you post them. I wish we could hear News this substantive these days - you can’t, not even on news stations. Thanks for posting.

Though I don't think the writing reached the normal high bar set by the many other episodes produced by Himan Brown, the great performances most certainly did, most particularly vet radio actress Joan Lovejoy (aka Joan Banks), with her short but powerful part of the frustrated wife (one of her 33 CBSRMT appearances), & surprisingly John Beal, who came off as a rather bland actor during his onscreen career "The Little Minister" (1934), but not here, and I'm SO glad his creep husband character got his comeuppance!
