Guys! This was 2020 haha. Sorry, I made a mistake! I always do this during a new year XD
I used to do that, too. But for years now I've put a sticker with the new year on my screen, in my cheque book, and in my journal pages. It works! No need to keep making that mistake for months.
The house is beautiful! I have a question do most people who own houses in Japan are they well off? I'm sorry if it's an intrusive question you don't have to answer
Haha I'm so ill-prepared for the new year I didn't question it for a second!
Beautiful family. So happy for you. Happy New Year! Also, tell grandma I want some of art. I wonder if she sells. Many blessings!
lol I was about to comment that. its cool.
Ryuji's Grandma really likes you a lot, just showing some her art that she's never shown to her own family? That is a huge deal!
Also she is so freaking talented! I would totally buy one of her works if it was possible!
2 things I learned today:
1. Ryuji's grandma is super talented.
2. That cat is c h o n k y
That really is a beautiful house. “Your grandpa told me to have babies” haha made me laugh! 🤦🏻♂️
I think if I said no he’d kick me out 😂
Have children because you want to not because someone else wants you to. This world is horrible now to bring up a child, so enjoy your lives to the fullest as a couple
@@maryr8364 No shit it's adult humor, kiddo.
VirohXL dude, you need to chill out lmao. take a deep breath...
Awww this video actually made me cry a little. I have a Japanese PenPal that we have been writing for around 18+ years.... I stayed with her family in Hokkaido and met her parents, grandparents, husband and son. Literally was so nice and probably one of the best weeks of my life. This vid made reminded me of that week and how much I miss being in Japan.... like a lot.
Ryuji s family seems so nice, I love the traditional vibes, and it seems that his mum and his granny are artistic ladies. He probably took that from them :)
Wow! That art his grandma makes is so beautiful 😍
I know I love it!
Extremely beautiful! I would love to buy ❤️❤️
All the colorful art glass is from Dale Chihuly, my favorite art glass designer! There’s a Dale Chihuly museum in Seattle, WA. and you can see most of his art glass around Las Vegas and different parts of the World. I have a few photo prints framed in my house, I love his work but his art pieces are really expensive! I love seeing all the places you were able to see with your sweetheart! 💖
‘Holy poop!!’ 😂😂 I loved this video so much; his grandma was so sweet to you!!! ❤️
It's great that you're being accepted so quickly into the Morita family -- and now you have that way cool Crane(?) as your sigil! I have to say that Ryuji's grandma's work is A-MAZING, hers is an astonishing and rare talent.
Thank you 😊
If anyone has any idea why my phone camera gets distorted in some parts please share 😩
like the part with the kitty in the hallway? where it was like weird motion blur? It's because a phone camera is on automatic settings! So it tries to compensate really dark areas with a slower shutter speed to let in more light. And then it looks funky because a camera shutter speed is supposed to stay at around double what the frame rate is. (Ex. 24p should be a shutter speed of 50...Or...60p for slow motion should be at a shutter speed of 120) I hope that was what you were asking lolol. Thanks for the video! It was so cute!
Record with 1080p60 setting or 4k60 if your pc can handle 4k60 editting and if your internet can handle it too! File sizes tend to be 4x larger than 1080p60 whereas the latter tends to be about 2x the file size of regular 1080p30 as you upload. Nonetheless, the 'distorted' effect is different per phone. The latest iPhones and Samsung Galaxys have AMAZING camera's. If even a phone like that has issue's....then so be it :P
I love how he explains everything to you. 🥰
I LOVE his grandmother's voice.
Me too
Ryuji grandma's are super talented...her art is awesome 🌺🥰
"Your grandpa kept telling me to have babies" 😂😂😂 you're definitely part of the family when they ask something like that haha 😁
Ryuji's Grandmother is a beautiful artist she needs to sell her work to get it out there. Why was it the first time her family ever saw her work? I loved her home what a treasure !! You now have a whole family in Japan I am so happy for you & Ryuji that you are as one. Have a lovely weekend ( Judy )
The one with the roots was so powerful.
His family is as lovely as he is! What a sweet life you two will have together. Hugs to you all! 💖
I'm so glad you had a great time!
His grandma's art is stunningly beautiful! 😍 Wow, I've never seen anything like that in my life. What a talented lady! 👏🏻💖💖
The grandmother has such talent! Her art is the most beautiful I have ever seen. I just love her leather artwork!!
Ya I never heard of leather art before!
Wow.. the art his grandma created was absolute beauty! It’s nice to see people still work with leather. Mii-Chan was super cute! I love that they already consider you family.. but that aww was interrupted by laughter as you said “ I know you’re grandpa kept telling me to have babies” 😂😂 Such a wonderful vlog! Thank you for sharing those moments with us!✌🏻💕
My heart is so happy for you! You found not only your other half but a beautiful family! ❤❤❤❤
I had so much fun watching this video-Thank You!!!!
The whole family seems wondeerful, and the grandma's gesture to give you new years cash was adorable!
Ryuji's family are all so talented! His grandma's leather art was exceptional and his grandparent's house has all the charms of the traditional Japanese style house! So beautiful :)
Wow! That house looks amazing. His grandmother is so talented, such beautiful creations.
Love your videos!
I know! Image could sell them but doesn’t think anyone would buy 😆
I love the fact that he doesn't get angry when you film videos , my husband gets so mad when I film one😅 you are really lucky 👍😘💕
Ya I promised myself I’d find a man who loved what I did and dint mind being on film 😆
Wow, Ryuji's grandma has next -level SKILLS. What a lovely family 👍
That house is beautiful!
His grandma should make the family Crest out of leather!! It would be a craft done by her and could be passed down forever, from all the babies she said you need to have maybe that's where Ryuji got the idea of all the babies lol your backpack was super cute..where'd you get it??
His grandmother isn't just very talent Kelly, that is insanely good skills! If she would to sell this art she can get a lot of money and fame. She is really that good, I have no doubt in my mind that rich people would trip over each other to buy this insanely good art.
Commenting for the first time today. I was born in Toyama because my parents hometown was Toyama. Ryuji s grandparents
Japanese house reminds me of my grandparents house in Toyama
Which my mom recently had to sell because noone was able to maintain the house. I overheard few Toyama dialects in the video and certainly missed my grandparents who have passed way about a decade ago. Being an eldest grandchild amongst the 10 grandkids I was very close to my grandmother even though we lived in tokyo and abroad. I still miss my grandparents and miss visiting Toyama. Thank you for sharing this video.
That house though ! Wow !
Grandma has SKILLS !
She could showcase her work in a gallery tommorrow ! What a beautiful artist !
I'm also from Toyama.
It reminds me of my hometown.
Thank you for sharing:)
They all seem so nice! and the area they live in is gorgeous!
Yes I think so too 😊
Ive always wanted to go to Toyama, but I was always like no I’ll just have to put it on the back burner because there is so much to see of japan. Now I just know I need to visit and see it for myself, one day I’ll make it to Japan and it will be amazing. I was tearing up by the end of the video, I’m so happy for you, it’s so amazing to see how welcomed you are into his family, I wish you both happiness and good health. I can be feeling somewhat down and your videos bring my mood back up, I get so exited and filled with joy when I get the notification of a new video.
See you’re so sweet 😭
Watching your videos just gives me joy. I'm super stressed all the time from exams and this just relieves my anxiety!!
I’m so glad!
Awww thank you so much for sharing this with us! 💗💗💗💗
Your videos are always so inspiring and uplifting and this one is no exception. Wishing you both a fantastic and prosperous 2020 and may you continue to shine! Love, light and peace 🙏❣💫
Yay! I loved the part 1. It was so sweet 💛
I’m so happy for you both!
Thank you so much!
Kelly Morita of course ☺️
His Gramma is so talented. Those were beautimous! His family is so sweet. I'm so glad they excepted you.
That artwork was beautiful!!! You could tell the family was very fond of you.
Such exceptional craftsmanship everywhere you look in Ryuji's grandparent's house! I LOVED everything - what a most talented grandmother....and that HUGE cat!
❤️
Love the video can’t wait till the day I get to visit japan
This is such a lovely video of you meeting Ryugi's famil! I'm glad they treated you very nice and were very kind to you!
Seeing the city where your husband grew up I just think of Totoro because of the country side! I'm freaking out seeing snow there its gorgeous!!
I’m so happy/sad. You brought back memories of my childhood as an American in Japan. I somehow lost contact with an older friend. I was in elementary school she was in high school when we met. I think she wanted to practice her English with me. She took my family to visit her family, this video reminded of that day. The old traditional style house and the hospitaly of Akio and her family I hope I never forget. We lost contact after I returned the states I don’t even remember her last name. In my older years I yearn to see or talk to her again. Oh how I’d love to find her, if I only I could. Thank you for bringing back some treasured memories of the Japanese’s people to me. You might not ever read this comment but it’s so good for my soul to speak out to God and dream the impossible.
Nothing is impossible. Only if you have faith and keep trying. Do you still remember anything about the surrounding areas where you used to live? Name of school? Her first name in kanji letters?
John Marston Oh yes I do! The Spencer family lived in Japan from 1962- March 1967. My father CT Spencer was a master chief petty officer stationed at Tachikowa AFB in the only Navy flight squadron on the base. We 1st lived in Grant Heights and I attended Yogi elementary school. I met Akio on a Yogi school field trip. We then moved to Kant Muro (Chofu) because our military home in Grant Heights (Washington Heights) was being demolished making way for the Olympic swimming pool. I attended Chofu elementary school until we moved back to the states. My parents are deceased, but for a few years my mom (Akio called Miss Spencer) occasionally but rarely corresponded. Thank you John for the encouragement! I may ever find Akio , but as my health’s deteriorating you are the bright Iight in my day. 😇
@@Sandilayman7 Well, thank you for the details! I am not sure how much I can be of help but I will try to see if I can first gather any useful info from the locals. First of all, your friend, Akio's name would likely be, Akiyo which is a typical lady's name. (Akio is for gentleman) Also, do you know anything about her school name or her age or where she came from during the field trip? Was she there alone or with her classmates? I'm assuming she was on a field trip from Kanto region school nearby. As for Yogi school...I could not find any Kanto region school with that name except for Yoyogi International school which is pretty prestigious school known for foreign-born students. :D (Feel free to send me PM if you would like to keep info more private)
John Marston EXCITING NEWS!!! Because of your encouragement, on a hunch I made it to my house and retrieved an old box of letters from my past. Wow! the 1st letter in the closet stored box was from Akiko Ohsato. It was dated March 1969 two year after our return to the states. She lived in Higashi ? Or maybe Fligashi Ohgu Arakawoku Tokyo. Akiko had been busy presenting a graduation thesis, had graduation examinations, then graduation ceremony and receptions. I’m so excited by this discovery! I’m elated! I’m dumbfounded! What wonderful exciting thing, what will happen next? Would you be willing to help me pursue this? Akiko knew me as Sandra Spencer, I was in 9th grade when I last heard from her. 🤗
@@Sandilayman7 That's a great news! :) I will surely help you out in any way I can. It's just that I no longer live near Kanto region so I would have to rely on methods other than actually visiting the city hall on foot. As for address, I found it. It's Higashiogu in Arakawa-ku. I just need a little more info on postal code or district number. Could you send me her address via private message so that I can tell the city hall about this? My gut feeling is that the city hall will likely not tell me where she lives but will ask me any contact info that can be provided to her instead. I will later send you a PM just to be sure.
I was so confused by the channel name in my feed XD then realized you changed it
Yaaaa I’m worried about that 😆
Makes me homesick for my grandmother's house in Osaka. Loved this video. Natsukashii. Your future in-laws are awesome!
Grandma's art is so beautiful and intricate. Omg...a whole year of love and creative energy in each one. This was a very touching vlog. Congratulations Kelly on finding your happy safe place
I love that house and were his parents live is beautiful! I have always wanted to live in a traditional Japanese home! Also his family is so sweet.
Great job Kelly! Beautiful video :))))
I can’t believe how beautiful Ryujis grandma’s art is! Such a beautiful countryside too!
Hi Kelly.
It is nice to see you so happy.
I wish you both a prospereous year 2020. Stay healthy and be happy.💗💗💗
Months ago when I last watched your vlogg... a good start for 2020. Follow your vlogg again... love you both😊😍🤗😘🥰🤩😍❤ from Philippines 🇵🇭
Wow, what a lovely, warm introduction to Ryuji's family and Toyama. Thanks so much for sharing!
Awww it’s so cool to get to see into other Japanese families! 😊 Omg that paprika song is playing in the carrrr I’m already tired of it! XD wow Toyama is beautiful! I love the crossing light sound too, I missed it a lot when I left japan. Sorry I’m typing this as watching so it’s a lot! 🤣 I love the videography going on here❤️
Kelly, as somebody who turned 30 in April last year, I feel like leaving the 20s behind is the best thing that has happened to me because I was able to let go of so much insecurity and doubt. The first year of my 30s I was able to actually follow my dreams and I'm now teaching in Palestine but in August I'll finally be moving to Japan, Morioka to teach. Ita definitely and uphill battle but when you figure out who you are and what your goals are it is always worth it.
I love how wholesome this is. Thank you for sharing part of your life with us. Happy new year!
Your videos are so beautiful and I always look forward to them. As a Canadian looking to work in Japan, I appreciate the rare opportunity to see life in Japan from the perspective of a foreigner, with much more depth than is available from travel videos and such. Thank you, and I look forward to the rest of your content in 2020 :)
OMG! You are definitely blessed and a wonderful inspiring couple. Ryuji’s family especially grandmother is so talented. I agree that the craftsmanship is out of this world. Seeing that old house made me calm.
I visited Misawa Aomori for New Year’s with my boyfriend because that is where he is from.
I wanted to do a video but I cannot afford new equipment for Vlogs. And I have been so very busy.
You are so 🍀. I wish you all the best in the future and yeah 9 million kids😱😱🤯 I would have joked and said the same thing.
Hello, Kelly & Ryuji Morita! Happy New Year!! Loved this video a lot! Inaka desu neh. Honto ni kawaii mo! Kelly and Ryuji, you are such a cool couple, I hope that 2020 becomes a special year for both of you! Ryuji's grandmother is so very artistically talented; her art work is so beautiful and special, how blessed you both are to now own two of her amazing works of art! Kelly, thank you So Much for sharing this very personal video with us! Take Care. 💓U Both! ✌
Bringing me back to my first meeting my Ryuji's family, sadly his dad passed the year before, as mine did in 2012. We didn't get to go for New Year's sadly we got sick.
That adorable cat. Oh my goodness. And that art is so beautiful!!! Hello from Austin, Texas. What a treat. Thank you.
It is so beautiful to see and hear how accepting Ryuji's family is of you and you both as a couple. It is a blessing.
My husband and I are from different countries/international cultures and unfortunately, his family has not been very welcoming or nice to me, even after almost 5 years. It is very hard, but I didn't marry him for his family and I try to not take it so personal.
This was so good to watch, it's always so scary meeting someone's family but they seem to really like you! Ryuji's Grandma's art is so lovely, she's very talented.
What do the charms you got mean/symbolise?
Thank you for sharing! I know how you feel...meeting “the family” for the first time! So kawaii!
15:36 - this girl's enthusiasm... lol ... I love it!
I am new to your channel and I am enjoying everything you teach us about Japan. I love your husband's grandfather's house, I am excited seeing everything they show us. Greetings from Massachusetts.
Grandma is very talented . So happy for you . You look so happy . You are with the right man . He is with the right woman .
The glass museum looks exactly like the Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle !
I've watched your channel only a few months- thank you for sharing Japan! And your life there. My goal for myself this year is to be more positive no matter what happens, so for this year I wish u health, happiness and peace! #sharethehappiness2020#
Again love all the video's.
Thank you for watching!
@@KellyMorita welcome😉
Love the difference between this place and busy Tokyo. Looks super chill, and the glass museum looks awesome! All the best to you guys for this new year/decade!
Thank you for sharing your adventures, Kelly! Best wishes!
You look so happy together ❤️. Hope you put your wedding on a blog lol😅 cause now I feel part of the family 😂
Whaaaat Toyama doesn’t look boring, exploring the lesser known places is the best!
I smiled the whole way through this!! 😁❤
So happy for you, Kelly. I've been watching your videos for a while now and I'm honestly so excited to see where life takes you both!!
I love Ryuji grandmother art absolutely beautiful. I don’t comment on many videos Iwatch but I enjoy your channel and your content. I can’t wait to come to Japan to see all this myself been saving but until then I will continue to see Japan on your channel. So happy for you. Thank you for sharing.
