    Love the fried chicken here, plus the all-you-can-eat sides. And yes, the tea is outstanding!

      Definitely good food and lots to eat. You will not leave here hungry. If you do it's your own fault. It was our first time here in awhile. We really enjoyed it.

    What a fun place! I have NEVER heard of Vittles 😆😃 so that was fun to learn. I LOVE hush puppies and good sweet tea and that chicken fried chicken is also right up my alley! Thanks for sharing 😊

      It's so funny about terms that are used in different parts of the country. Vittles refers to prepared food and tends to be a country term. I believe it was used by cowboys too. The sweet tea here can not be beat! David loves all the vittles that you get to go along with the meal you order off the menu. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Haven't been to Huck Finn's for awhile. I would suggest Pawpaw's Catfish Kitchen on Wears Valley Rd. We really enjoy eating there. Also Elvira's Cafe also on Wears Valley Rd. Beautiful setting, locally sourced and made from scratch. Miss Judy's desserts are like Momma use to make. Good food and great people. Two of our favorite locally owned places. Take a look at their websites and see what you think.

    • @vafunseekers
      @vafunseekers  Před rokem +1

      I have heard of both of these restaurants. I actually told David we needed to try out Pawpaw's. Wil definitely check out these 2 places. Love going to places that are locally sourced and food is made from scratch. That is hard to find. Will definitely look at their websites. Thanks for the recommendations. Have you been to the food park (food trucks) in Wears Valley?

    • @pbj9578
      @pbj9578 Před rokem

      Yes, its called Wears Valley Social food truck Park. Open mid March - Nov. The website tells you what trucks are there. A nice place. We have been happy with it.

    Looks like an interesting place. Catfish is something else I've yet to try. My grandparents loved it. My parents weren't fish eaters. So, I didn't get to experiment with fish until I started driving. Still, it was Mrs. Paul's frozen until I started dating my ex-wife. She and her family introduced me to many kinds of fish. But, they called catfish "a trash fish". So, maybe I'll give Huck Finn's a try. The mashed potatoes and gravy looked good. Another winner! God Bless!

      @vafunseekers  Před měsícem

      Huck Finn's is great! You can get the all you can eat catfish and chicken. That way you can try the catfish and if you don't like it just eat more chicken. This is a great choice when in the smokies.

    Haven't had Huck Finns in a long time but last time I went it was delicious! Think I had the chicken fingers but the catfish and the chicken fried chicken looked appetizing as well! Not gonna lie but the gator tail sounds pretty good as well from where you mentioned that on the menu never had it there but I have had it elsewhere and it's good too! That sweet tea looks refreshing indeed! Might have to make another trip there when we Lord willing go back to Pigeon Forge!

      This is definitely a good ole southern cooking restaurant. Lots of delicious options on the menu for sure. It had been awhile since we had been there. It was one of the "must go" to restaurants on our list before we left for Tennessee. We already have a list for our next visit. Thanks for watching and commenting. Appreciate you!

    Do y’all remember - when you could go to a restaurant and just say - or - order Tea - and everybody knew what you meant - nobody used to say sweet tea - we would just say tea - and you would get sweet tea - Does anybody remember that
