I liked this video much better, you talked about what you wanted to do and then picked the module and explained the options in that module. You make is look so easy :)
Personally, I like and watch ALL the dt video, right through the end. While I'd like to learn daVinci too, I don't have enough time.
I think splitting the channels is a good idea as it makes checking out new video simpler when they are separated. We don't want your numbers to go down if we clicked on the wrong video.
Don't worry about forcing yourself to have one new video each week. We much prefer quality and substance over having to rush something just to meet the one video per week self imposed rule.
I'd rather you make time for you daughter and girlfriend over rushing a video. Family is always more important!
💯, family come first! I've decided to split the channels! So once a week here, and once a week on PurelyResolve!
Just subscribed! Thank you very much! I must admit that I still struggle with the whole "Display referred" vs "Scene referred" workflow. I do understand that you want your image to be as "portable" as possible, but if your monitor is properly calibrated and if your printed photos match your displayed photos, why should you worry about the workflow/color space? At the end of the day, all of the edits we do and the decisions we make are based on what we see on our monitor, whether we use the Display referred or the Scene referred workflow, so we are limited by our monitor's color space, whether we like it or not... It would be very helpful to see an example of an image that turned out bad because the Display referred workflow was used. Oh, and it is Darktable for me too, obviously :)!
I've made a video talking about the difference. I do know that Aurelien heavily favours and promoted the Filmic module.
@Rico Resolves I've used a few times Darktable and I uploaded all my photos there. I even classified my photos by using stars and colours. However I've lost all photos in Darktable and it gives me the information that I didn't uploaded any images on the software. This happened to me 3 or 4 times. I even uninstalled and installed the software and tried again uploading everything. Can you please tell me what went wrong?
Do you keep the photos in the same file location?
@@RicoResolves yes I do
darktable
Darktable
i really liked using darktable but my prints always turned out dark. real shame.
That's probably a setting you've overlooked and/or your monitor playing games with you
At this time I am not interested in Davinci Resolve
But DaVinci Resolve 19 kusyt dropped, and it's jaw dropping 😮
I would be willing to subscribe to a Patreon Chanel if you would offer downloads of Darktable Image Editing with the RAW file included.
That's awesome William, I actually have a Patreon. However, I've changed it into memberships here on YT. Members get access to the RAW files and xmp files.
DarkRico channel incoming? 😅 RicoResolves should stay Resolve (obviously)
And addon: if you ask this question at the end of a DaVinci video, you'll get different comments then here... I like both, but i think it's logic to spin-off DarkTable as Resolve is in the name here
2:49 please take use with you when doing trial and error, and tell us what parts of the video en the effect your looking at. "Just move it around till it looks right" isn't helpful. Just tell us what you're looking at, what happens when moving a slider and what and why you think something is right.
Hi Rico,
I'm only interested in darktable, and like your DT content.
But never watch your daVINCI up-loads.
So I prefer a split.
Kind regards,
Thank you for your insights!
I have Darktable, I've had it around 5 years and I still can't use it. I had some success doing selective colour, leaving the colur in eyes a while back, but my last few attempts have never worked so I very rarely open the programme now, it just seems so difficult to use
Have you tried my beginners course?
@@RicoResolves No, I didn't know you had one! I'll take a look, thank you
No, you lost me completely, AGAIN!
