I am new to metal detecting and recently dug up a 1898 Indian Head Penny in my yard. Making the coin 126 years old.
Its my third coin i have found so consider yourself lucky you found it in a coin roll 😄

Went to my bank and picked up a box of pennies like I always do. Nothing different. Took the box home and opened it up and started going through it. First roll had 8 Wheaties in it. I was shocked. Never have I got 8 in one roll. Roll number 2 had six Wheaties, again shocked. Every roll in this box , ( machine rolled ) had at least four, no less in them. At the end of the box, I now have 132 Wheaties from the one box. WOW! got A SECOND BOX I AM GOING TO GO THROUGH TOMORROW. I CAN'T EXPECT TO EVER BEAT THIS ONE BOX...EVER!

Wow! I just had a few boxes with over 50. Some rolls had 5 in them. Best boxes I’ve been through for wheats so far. It seems the average for me is about 15 a box.

Hey Dave, how do you go about getting boxes if coins from banks. Most banks won't do anything if your not a customer. When you get boxes and search them do you reroll them are return unrolled. And if unrolled how do they not get upset with you. My 8 year old son us into coin collecting big time since he was 7. Would sure love to be able to get boxes to search S we have gone through all the rolls at our bank. Both branches, so any help would be greatly appreciated.... Jeff

It’s going to be hard to get them if you don’t have an account. Some banks just won’t do it at all. US Bank has been great to me on ordering boxes. I buy the bags from their counter machine as well. Maybe check them out if there is one nearby. I couldn’t answer about rolling them back up. You’d probably need to if they don’t have a counter. Every bank is a little different. Honestly, your best bet is just to talk to the bankers about it. If you are open to it, I have some coins I’d like to send you guys to go through. It definitely won’t be a whole box. But, I’ll make sure it will be fun for both of you. I don’t have any kids. For some reason, I feel the need to do that.
