She really is a good storyteller. I love how when she writes her lyrics, the intention is to not only make you listen, but also to let you see how the story happened. The way she sings makes you feel the emotion she wants you to feel and I believe it's a great factor if you want to be great singer and artist. You're not making a song to be popular, you're making them to touch lives and that's exactly what she does.

Knees os dedicated to IUs grandmother who raised her and her brother when her family was in debt. Whenever she has insomnia she'd get some relief when her grandmom stroked her hair and she'd fall asleep in her lap.

Fyi the man on keyboard is Kim Jaehwi, the composer who worked with IU on Through the night (2017), Snowman (2018), My Old Story (2014) and many more. He’s the one who composed and sang My Mister’s ost Dear Moon to which IU wrote lyrics. He’s very young, only 21 I think, and have worked with IU since high school days. They have a very good relationship!

아이유 노래는 유행이라기 보다는 삶에 녹아 있는듯함;;; 솔직히 명곡들이 많지만 너랑나, 하루끝, 가을아침 나온지 좀 됐지만 지금도 계속 듣는 노래이고.. 지금 나온노래들도 앞으로도 계속 찾을 노래일듯 합니다
정말 김광석 가수의 느낌 분위기와 매우 닮아있는 .. 유일한 가수 같아요 음절 가사 하나하나에 많은 이들의 삶이 섞여있는 것 같아요ㅠㅠㅠ

Listening to this after hearing Wonwoo's cover. This is a beautiful song and one that I will listen to, to comfort me at times when I am sad and missing my mum. If only there was a staircase leading up to Heaven so we could see our loved ones even if it was just for a day. Thinking of everyone and sending love to those that need it most right now.

IU wrote this song when she had troubles sleeping and then she remembered the time when she used to sleep on her grandma's lap....I had a hard time listening to this song without crying since I lost my grandma and that's exactly how I used to sleep when she was still alive, on her lap with her stroking my hair.

타 가수에 비해 아이유콘서트는 가족단위로도 많이 오고, 아이들부터 어르신까지 연령대가 다양하답니다.
전에 콘서트 갔을 때는 연세 많으신 외국인 두분이 아이유 뱃지며, 여기저기 아이유 굿즈 달고 오신 걸 보고
참 부러웠습니다. 나도 좀 더 시간이 지난 후에도 그럴 수 있을까 생각이 들어서요.
영상으로 보는 것도 좋고, 음원으로 듣는 것도 좋지만, 현장에서 보고 듣는 것은 말로 다 할 수가 없답니다.

IU said there are times when her grandmother was sick but she couldn't went home to see her and she miss her so much. through that IU got inspiration to make this beautiful song. she said many times that this song means a lot to her because it really comes from her heart.

During last few months, I felt something "heavy", my heart, my mind, my physical. Like there's a big wall.
Try to find an escape by eating my favorite food, coming to favorite places, do somethings fun with friends, still feeling that there is still a burden.
Suddenly today remember this song, I looked for it on CZcams, I played it, right on the part,
"Looks like I'm tired, so far I've probably endured enough. I hope there is a shortcut for me to get back to where you are."
The wall collapsed in an instant, I literally cried the rest of this song. And even after that I was still crying for a few minutes.
After that I felt a little better than before. It turns out that all I need all this time is CRYING. You know guys can't look too whiny in front of everyone? So I can't do it all the time. But I realized that I too covered all my burdens from everyone closest to me, indeed I always tried to look fine in front of everyone. "Looks like I'm tired, so far maybe I've endured enough."

I come here when I feel empty, when I want to cry but I don't know why, when my eyes are so tired but my mind resists to sleep. At those every times I close my eyes and listen to this song, iu voice embraces and heals me.
It's sad how after reading the lyrics I realize this song that I've been listening to every day and night because it is simply beautiful and heartwarming along with IU's fairy like voice, is actually a perfect description to my real current Nights.. I've been chronically ill for a while now, so I end up awake at night while others are sleeping thinking about an old laughing me, waiting for a possible day I could win myself back. The lyrics "don't wake me up I'm going to sleep tight" is something I used to tell my family so often when I take sleeping pills to not wake me up since I'll end up fighting my daily pain and not sleeping; and like she said I wish there was a shortcut to where a healthy happy me is.
IU how can you release something that Beautiful, you literally read my mind and performed my thoughts in such a beautiful way, guess there is a reason behind why I love you and your music so much after all :) thank you for this thank you for being a real Artist

I learned about this song from a webcomic author ( 10min) that mentioned listening to it during making the final episode of season one of Cold-Blooded Beast from the app called Manta comics. Great song!
Since I've heard her music the first time, IU's voice became my anti-depressant and my cure to anxiety. There's something in her voice that somewhat soothes and heals me.
I'm disappointed with the people saying horrible things to her it hurt me as a person.If only you know her more the past IU until today you won't say those things. You don't have to like her we just ask a little respect. I follow her career since 2008 until now and I admire only few celebrities those worthy to be praise and IU is one of them. You don't even know her for you to judge. Where she is now is because of her talent plus good heart plus great attitude. She work without complain,sleep,and even if she is sick.Simple misunderstanding will not shake her career and the people who truly believe in her. she did a great job with her album it's hard to sing,produce and co-compose the songs. They twisted her words to mean something other than what she meant. I just can't stand to watch in silence. They don't have to like her but they have to respect her but I realize that she receive those attention with every move she make because she is popular not just seasonal popularity but someone who can affect the stock market if she did something that doesn't please everyone. To be honest I wasn’t fully aware of IU and just how versatile and amazing she is until I watched Hotel del Luna . After watching this outstanding drama I had to look at Wikipedia just to find out more about her .
Not only was she listed as an actress but also a singer , it was then I logged into CZcams just to check out if she was any good .
WOW 😮 ! She is not only an amazing actress but she is a truly unbelievable singer , her voice control and tone is wonderful , I don’t understand the words of most of the songs she sings and I don’t need to , I could listen to her singing ballads all day “she’s that good” .
Already downloaded two of her albums and four singles from iTunes, only wish some of the songs she performs on CZcams were available in the UK especially , “Story of old couple” .
I’ve totally became a massive fan of IU , I might be her only one in Scotland 🏴 , I don’t know and don’t care . Looking forward to watching her in her next acting role and will always keep listening her wonderful singing voice . 💜

hahaha! She is a singer first and being an actress is just her stress reliever. Watch her dramas she is quite good. Watch everything from her debut 2008 to the recent her fancams is worth watching too. And watch her variety shows specially Heroes and Hyori B&B. I also thought that I'm the only fan she have in my country but it turns out she is famous here when she had her concert last year in my country it got sold out right away. I'm lucky to be able to get a ticket although not the seat i want but its fine I've waited for 10 years just to hear and see her live. I was awake for 2 days since i have to travel as its far from my area but it's all worth it. You will never regret being a Uaena.
