You would think such fundamental strategy would be part of liberal ideology. As for why Ukraine:
- if Russia grows larger, the threat would only expand
- if Ukraine/Russia stales, the bread basket and resources of that area will continue to crumble and destabilize the supply chain of oil and food for the world, and by extension prices at local grocery stores. Eventually leading to increased housing prices too, as destabilized countries are leading to massive emigration of their people.

Ukraine supplied a massive portion of the world food supply. 2021 they exported 4.22 million metric tons of grain. (5th largest in the world). In 2023/24 it was basically halved at 2.15 million. They also exported a bunch of other food as well that has been severely reduced. This has an impact on the price of food globally.

If you hold any seat in office you are NOT allowed to receive money from any other source, nor are you allowed to run any side jobs or made side deals. You will also be paid and taxed exactly the same the average Canadian, meaning you go from your 200k+ a year down to 70k a year. You work FOR the people, not AGAINST the people.

That has been going on since the eighties. I worked in construction back then. Quebec workers were allowed to work in Ontario no questions asked. They just show up. The company I worked for did a few jobs in Quebec. We had to jump through hoops to work there. We had to give a full run down on the extent of our work ( what trades we will be doing etc.), how many workers we had and a limited time we could work on the job. We also had to hire at least one Quebec tradesman. They absolutely hate the rest of Canada and don’t hide it.
