Oh my gosh. This update blows. Moved so many things around and removed some functionality for whatever reason (cannot double-click media to open advanced edit media, you have to do about three clicks now to get there; cannot see keyframes for two audio tracks side-by-side). I feel like I am starting all over to re-create what had become a smooth workflow for me. And the playhead won't follow me when I click on a clip? I have to go retrieve it manually? What were you thinking when you redesigned this?
I agree 100%. Not having the playhead follow is a HUGE downgrade. Like WTF. Why would they remove that. Made a mistake doing this update. They still don't allow you to render 2560x1440p.

💯 agree the snap to play head is adding so much time to my workflow. I hope this is an immediate patch fix. It’s really the one thing that is keeping this from being a great update. Well thah and I feel like I can barely see the wave form now.

At a minimum, Cyberlink should be adding "preferences" for many of these unwanted changes. Apparently, Cyberlink like to break things that aren't broken. Do not upgrade if you can help it.

This is the most frustrating update so far! So many great simple functions are gone, massive bug issue with audio wave generation, program constantly shutting itself down, why wasn't an email sent out to subscribed members about what this Update would do and how things would change?? We updated and had NO idea this massive change was happening, a heads up would've been nice 😕 Your All New UI might be great for potential new customers but for current users it's definitely not made things easier 👎👎

Have a way to get the old version back, I don't believe any current projects can be finished using old version though. Tell you what I am so happy to have the old version back.

What's the deal with having to manually move the playhead to a selected clips. That's super time consuming if you, like me, work on projects with hundreds of clips. Can I change it back to the way it was? Otherwise it's goodbye Cyberlink, and I have used Cyberlink since 2016.
agreed! I have found you can double click to select a track which moves the playhead to that track on the timeline, but so backwards! And simple things like the layout of my media and target folders and the number of media clips imported to use has all changed!! So frustrating and time consuming

If I’m being honest, I’m not too impressed with this new update. One of the major problems for myself is this new yellow it’s near enough, impossible to match audio, now on top of that if I want to use video speed it’s only for single clips now as before I could select and highlight multiple clips and speeds them up together 😢😢
Why do they put yellow on school buses? (because it's hard to look at anything else when they do) Whoever made that choice never studied how humans perceive colors. Having more yellow on a bigger screen won't make it any less obnoxious @DeliveryRider
I downloaded Power Director 365 about two days ago. As a beginner in video editing, I got the hang of PD very fast and have a lot of confidence editing videos with such ease. The experience was better than I expected.
It's nice that the UI has been updated to be cleaner and easier to use. But, We don't want existing features to disappear cleanly either. Transparency curve adjustment in the timeline, overlay color adjustment, volume adjustment for each clip in the audio mixer, etc. It's very painful to see useful features disappearing with this update. Don't try to copy other video editing tools. We hope that you will maintain and restore Powerdirector's unique features.
I have to agree with all that say the new UI is lacking some of the obvious features that will take some time to reconnect. As s long time users at this point, I find it somewhat cumbersome, I hope I am able to work through my issues soon.
Where did the apply to all button go for editing effects. Sure was much easier to adjust color and lighting in all my clips, now it seems I have to edit every clip with the same settings over and over.

I would like the option to A. Bypass the launcher and go straight to the editor, and B. Toggle between snapping to beginning of clip once clicked. I feel like that alone is what's keeping this from being the perfect iteration of PowerDirector.
NOTHING I had from my prior projects is loading properly anymore (except for the actual video--all my transitions, studio clips I had developed, purchased music etc. are gone) even though I clicked to keep my prior settings.
I've been using PD for many years and find it great value for money. I was hoping in this latest update that the background music would have more metadata available for searching (e.g. searching for music that may be best suited to running, hiking, landscape - waterfall, sunrise etc), and ability to play the music with the video playing so you can quickly scroll through music files to see which one may fit best for the video clip.
This update is single handedly destroying my business. Do not update if you haven't already. Warning do not update if you haven't already. They're weird focus on all things overlay TikTok style, and removal of necessary editing functions has severely devalued the usability of this product. If anyone has any suggestions of alternative editing software with similar functions to the old version please let me know. If anyone has suggestions how to retrieve the old version so I can finish at least the projects that I have started.

You are NOT listening to what your users are saying about this update. The positioning of the play head is a total NIGHTMARE! At least give us the option to use one version or the other of play head positoning. The new way of doing it makes no sense and cuases me a lot more work. Having now upgraded, it's not hard to learn...but they've really messed it up for experts. For example, you used to just double click a video clip to get to the main editing area. Now you have to do that AND hit Advanced. Pain on the ass.
I routinely add stills that i want to add keyframes for position & scale, including properties like ease in/out. I can't do as you claim and edit direct from the timeline - at least I haven't found that. I used to be able to double click on the timeline to immediately opened the PIP design window, but now it first opens the Image / Animation section, then I need to click on Advanced. The cursor / playhead not resetting to the selected clip is the most annoying new "feature". Why would you select a clip and NOT expect the playhead to land there so you can see it?? Strange decision.
How do I edit the video opacity in the timeline, like the audio volume. It seems to be gone and this is very frustrating. How do I get back to the old interface?
I second this!!! What I worked out to do is under Video edit > Opacitiy/Fade/Blend > Select Fade-out > then go to Advanced and change the opacity fade out position if you want it to be longer. Not sure if that's the right way to do it now but it works...🥴🥴 so frustrating
Have been a big fan of PowerDirector for years but this new change has me looking for other options. My existing projects that opened two days ago crash while trying to load. I have tried about 20 times to load a project that I was working on the day the new version came out. Now it crashes at about 73%. I can no longer generate multicolor/ multi stripped fonts. That option appears to have disappeared. Playing with font colors also appears to have gone away. Now you pick one of the fixed options or SORRY. Line two of audio (part of a video will not play when in the time line. The Sound is just fine when playing in media. Someone jumped too quick to copy Filmore. I have to look for a new software provider. This does not work for me.
I am having so much trouble just trying to keep the program from crashing that I am at my end. If you find a viable option, PLEASE let me know.@@CuttingEdgeEngineering

The new version was a shock, and the new learning curve was "Interesting" to say the least, LOL! But I have to admit, it's much more intuitive than the old version.
I use to just click on a photo or video clip and it would show immediately in the preview window. I now have to move the playhead to the clip or image in order to have it show in preview. Very time consuming.

@@WatchwithMarcella yeah, what was reallly annoying was the timeline randomly selecting 1 clip when youd set the playhead, and stopping at the end of the clip instead of playing through, this fixed that
PowerDirector should have a program for beginners, which is what this has become and a program for more professional users, which is more like what it was before. Seriously, from someone who has used this program for over 3 years it has gotten worse with every update and this is the top of the ice berg. I am searching for a new program after my license ends. Many functions have been moved around again and again. There is no improvement in editing options for example, music options, marking stuff as used, finding downloaded stock pictures, jumping to the next subtitle with an arrow... I can go on. So many functions have been one clicks and now requires 3 clicks. There is so much space in the small bar above the timeline (audio mixer and split tool) and yet I can't customize my most used functions into an icon right there! And don't get me started on the audio, who in the world thought it would be easier to mix music with a pixeled one sided audio instead of an actually audio track that goes up and down in curves, just like music! It's still like that in the AudioDirector, why would you change that????
What happened to the Edge Enhancement function? It seems to be absent on this new upgrade. I was using it to enhance my old video camera recordings from the 90s. I really miss this function.
Did you really get rid of the video clip opacity bar/keyframe fades from the timeline?!? I am no longer able to adjust how long my clip fades in and at what transparency in the timeline....
This new website update seems to make the website more like the app. I like that! I was a 4+ year app user until I recently, finally, got a laptop! My main complaint is why cant I work on the same project on the website and the app??? Please make that possible! Theres many things I like doing on the app better but I would like to start and finish on the website. I also have to pay for both to get the extras! Why? Theyre the same but I have to pay for the app and the website... Thats very frustrating!
Never in my whole a$$ life would I have thought CyberLink's AI tooling would punch this hard. As long as CL doesn't implement AI credits, and you make organic content like this - I can easily see CL snatching more market share in '24. I bought a year of the Suite, really nice set of tooling - Vivid AI as well, so fast, solid visual fidelity, and the download all feature? Chef's Kiss. 💯

need help !! after update of PWD 365 not able to set aspect ratio of a video , it only changes the ratio in power director window but video still remains the same like as usual 16:9 ......earlier we are able to change the ratio of video manually to ever corner of the 1:1 window

I remember being able to change audio channels through the audio file. I can't find in the new PowerDirector 365 update. Do you know if this has been removed or been placed in another location? It was a really useful feature for me.
You forgot to add that your Power Director 365 Trial will overwrite any previously purchased RETAIL program & totally cripple that program, while sending popups saying that "This Feature Is Only Accessible In Power Director Premium", even AFTER UNINSTALLING the 365 Trial, erasing every instance of Cyberlink from the registry & reinstalling from a PURCHASED disc.
Less bubble gum and more meat and veg, please, Cyberlink. I consider myself a reasonably serious video editor and I have found this new version horrible to navigate with frequent crashes. Also, where is the pan and zoom? Is there a way to restore the old version?
so i can download a "subtitle theme" but i have no way of applying it to the AI generated subtitles. am i doing something wrong? also, the not popout is fantastic, please make that the standard for ALL editing modes.
The newest version of Power Director 365 is a shit!! I hated it. I can't find the tool I was already used to. I can't handle the "image line" in the video track and create fade in and fade out as I used to. The audio track got even more squeezed and that turned audio handling ever more difficult. That's why I think the latest update a total mess. If the problems I just reported don't get fixed real quick I gonna trade PowerDirector 365 for something else.

Thanks for your feedback! You can preview your project at full screen and then use your mobile device's screen recording function to capture a screen recording video. Both iOS and Android should have the feaature nativly. That should fit what you need.
The latest update SUCKS! It has totally disrupted my workflow with the changes to how the play head is positioned and with things like resizing images. I don't want to learn another editor as I have been using PD for years and until now I have loved using it. I will now discontinue my 365 subscription and go back to stand alone to stop any further 'updates' from making things worse that they already are.
The new UI seems ok, but where did the ability to edit title animations go? I used to be able to change durations of different parts of the animations, now that ability seems to be gone...
Double click on a title to access title editing room and then switch to the "Animation" tab on the top of title editing room. You will find a "Duraction" adjusting slider. Pick a part of the title and you can change the duration of it. You may also click on the "Advanced" button to access the classic interface, which you are familar with. 😃
@@PowerDirectorOfficialIt looks like the Animation tab isn't available for all animated titles. Some just say "motion graphics title". Maybe the animation fine-tuning wasn't available for those before, though.
I edited with power Director for 4 years know. But I think i'm gonna quit because of this. Important Features have been 'deleted'. Its fucking ugly and has nothing to do with Professional Editing. I'm so sad because i really liked it..but now its trash fr.

I had to go through alot to find where the photos were in my phone, now that i have found them i cant figure out how to put them where i used to so i can create a slide with transitions...you just messed this up for me. Not everyone is used to everything right away. I understand things have been changing...this change for what i want to create isn't easy..soo yeah, for me you made it harder! I was used to pushing my content out in a timely fashion...woke up one day and for me it was over. I have been using power director for years and now due to this change that just messed up my flow i not only am slow on content, i have to sit and figure this mess out. Don't tell me to watch the video tutorials either, it"s not helping. Thanks alot for changing, while you helped others you left some behind. Smh.
Could you please add "auto video and audio sync (using wave form)" function to powerdirector app for android? (This feature is available in Lumafusion for ios. Now there are no any video editing app for android that have this function.)
@@PowerDirectorOfficial yes please! Having to use multicam plug to sync audio is annoying. Also the multcam plugin needs to have more cameras available, and it has a setious glitch when you use chaptered gopro files, it will stagger them into other cameras timelines, and misplace files. I have to merge all my chaptered gopro files to make it function correctly which is extremely time consuming
When will the over-complicated and unnecessary UI changes be eliminated? So much wasted time looking for simple tools that were needlessly moved. At least I don’t have to use this garbage program for work where wasted time is money. Video editing is just a hobby for me but it is no longer fun- now it is just FRUSTRATING. Cyberlink lost me as a loyal customer with the irrelevant UI changes.

Cyberlink should be careful with redesigning the UI. Complicated UI's will scare away potential customers.

NOTHING I had from my prior projects is loading properly anymore (except for the actual video--all my transitions, studio clips I had developed, purchased music etc. are gone) even though I clicked to keep my prior settings.
I've been using PD for many years and find it great value for money. I was hoping in this latest update that the background music would have more metadata available for searching (e.g. searching for music that may be best suited to running, hiking, landscape - waterfall, sunrise etc), and ability to play the music with the video playing so you can quickly scroll through music files to see which one may fit best for the video clip.
Sortable would be nice too.
This update is single handedly destroying my business. Do not update if you haven't already. Warning do not update if you haven't already. They're weird focus on all things overlay TikTok style, and removal of necessary editing functions has severely devalued the usability of this product. If anyone has any suggestions of alternative editing software with similar functions to the old version please let me know. If anyone has suggestions how to retrieve the old version so I can finish at least the projects that I have started.

You are NOT listening to what your users are saying about this update. The positioning of the play head is a total NIGHTMARE! At least give us the option to use one version or the other of play head positoning. The new way of doing it makes no sense and cuases me a lot more work. Having now upgraded, it's not hard to learn...but they've really messed it up for experts. For example, you used to just double click a video clip to get to the main editing area. Now you have to do that AND hit Advanced. Pain on the ass.

I can't save my custom titles anymore... The instructions say there should be an "Advanced" button, but there isn't on mine...
I routinely add stills that i want to add keyframes for position & scale, including properties like ease in/out.
I can't do as you claim and edit direct from the timeline - at least I haven't found that.
I used to be able to double click on the timeline to immediately opened the PIP design window, but now it first opens the Image / Animation section, then I need to click on Advanced.
The cursor / playhead not resetting to the selected clip is the most annoying new "feature". Why would you select a clip and NOT expect the playhead to land there so you can see it?? Strange decision.
How do I edit the video opacity in the timeline, like the audio volume. It seems to be gone and this is very frustrating. How do I get back to the old interface?
I second this!!! What I worked out to do is under Video edit > Opacitiy/Fade/Blend > Select Fade-out > then go to Advanced and change the opacity fade out position if you want it to be longer. Not sure if that's the right way to do it now but it works...🥴🥴 so frustrating
Hi there, you may also use keyframe to adjust a clip opacity now.

Have been a big fan of PowerDirector for years but this new change has me looking for other options. My existing projects that opened two days ago crash while trying to load. I have tried about 20 times to load a project that I was working on the day the new version came out. Now it crashes at about 73%. I can no longer generate multicolor/ multi stripped fonts. That option appears to have disappeared. Playing with font colors also appears to have gone away. Now you pick one of the fixed options or SORRY. Line two of audio (part of a video will not play when in the time line. The Sound is just fine when playing in media. Someone jumped too quick to copy Filmore. I have to look for a new software provider. This does not work for me.
RIGHT! We changed from Filmora to powerdirector and now looking for another program 😂

The new version was a shock, and the new learning curve was "Interesting" to say the least, LOL!
But I have to admit, it's much more intuitive than the old version.
It took away all of my saved produced projects. I'm very disappointed!
I use to just click on a photo or video clip and it would show immediately in the preview window. I now have to move the playhead to the clip or image in order to have it show in preview. Very time consuming.
I now can't save custom titles, it used to be really simple to "save as" and keep the title as a template, where did the option to do that go?
I do like how the timeline is multicolored now, but have to get use to the other stuff since it is changed or moved around in the program.
I like the new timeline design as well! 😄

PowerDirector should have a program for beginners, which is what this has become and a program for more professional users, which is more like what it was before. Seriously, from someone who has used this program for over 3 years it has gotten worse with every update and this is the top of the ice berg. I am searching for a new program after my license ends.
Many functions have been moved around again and again. There is no improvement in editing options for example, music options, marking stuff as used, finding downloaded stock pictures, jumping to the next subtitle with an arrow... I can go on.
So many functions have been one clicks and now requires 3 clicks. There is so much space in the small bar above the timeline (audio mixer and split tool) and yet I can't customize my most used functions into an icon right there! And don't get me started on the audio, who in the world thought it would be easier to mix music with a pixeled one sided audio instead of an actually audio track that goes up and down in curves, just like music! It's still like that in the AudioDirector, why would you change that????

What happened to the Edge Enhancement function? It seems to be absent on this new upgrade. I was using it to enhance my old video camera recordings from the 90s. I really miss this function.
Did you really get rid of the video clip opacity bar/keyframe fades from the timeline?!? I am no longer able to adjust how long my clip fades in and at what transparency in the timeline....

This new website update seems to make the website more like the app. I like that! I was a 4+ year app user until I recently, finally, got a laptop! My main complaint is why cant I work on the same project on the website and the app??? Please make that possible! Theres many things I like doing on the app better but I would like to start and finish on the website. I also have to pay for both to get the extras! Why? Theyre the same but I have to pay for the app and the website... Thats very frustrating!
Never in my whole a$$ life would I have thought CyberLink's AI tooling would punch this hard. As long as CL doesn't implement AI credits, and you make organic content like this - I can easily see CL snatching more market share in '24. need help !! after update of PWD 365 not able to set aspect ratio of a video , it only changes the ratio in power director window but video still remains the same like as usual 16:9 ......earlier we are able to change the ratio of video manually to ever corner of the 1:1 window

why can't I edit all of the audio clips at once? by highlighting the entire track it now only allows me to select "audio speed" instead of each edit option. Why??

What happened to the PIP designer? Also the simple Fade transition is gone. Frequent UI changes are a great way to waster users' time.
I remember being able to change audio channels through the audio file. I can't find in the new PowerDirector 365 update. Do you know if this has been removed or been placed in another location? It was a really useful feature for me.

You forgot to add that your Power Director 365 Trial will overwrite any previously purchased RETAIL program & totally cripple that program, while sending popups saying that "This Feature Is Only Accessible In Power Director Premium", even AFTER UNINSTALLING the 365 Trial, erasing every instance of Cyberlink from the registry & reinstalling from a PURCHASED disc.

Pan and Zoom is under the 'Edit' when you select your video clip, it's in the Tools menu of the video clip under Chroma Key
I wonder why I cannot upload videos from my phone to PD. Even when I have already uploaded them to my PC.

The newest version of Power Director 365 is a shit!!
I hated it. I can't find the tool I was already used to. I can't handle the "image line" in the video track and create fade in and fade out as I used to. The audio track got even more squeezed and that turned audio handling ever more difficult.
That's why I think the latest update a total mess.
If the problems I just reported don't get fixed real quick I gonna trade PowerDirector 365 for something else.

The latest update SUCKS! It has totally disrupted my workflow with the changes to how the play head is positioned and with things like resizing images. I don't want to learn another editor as I have been using PD for years and until now I have loved using it. I will now discontinue my 365 subscription and go back to stand alone to stop any further 'updates' from making things worse that they already are.

The new UI seems ok, but where did the ability to edit title animations go? I used to be able to change durations of different parts of the animations, now that ability seems to be gone...
Double click on a title to access title editing room and then switch to the "Animation" tab on the top of title editing room. You will find a "Duraction" adjusting slider. Pick a part of the title and you can change the duration of it. You may also click on the "Advanced" button to access the classic interface, which you are familar with. 😃
@@PowerDirectorOfficialIt looks like the Animation tab isn't available for all animated titles. Some just say "motion graphics title". Maybe the animation fine-tuning wasn't available for those before, though.

I had to go through alot to find where the photos were in my phone, now that i have found them i cant figure out how to put them where i used to so i can create a slide with transitions...you just messed this up for me. Not everyone is used to everything right away. I understand things have been changing...this change for what i want to create isn't easy..soo yeah, for me you made it harder! I was used to pushing my content out in a timely fashion...woke up one day and for me it was over. I have been using power director for years and now due to this change that just messed up my flow i not only am slow on content, i have to sit and figure this mess out. Don't tell me to watch the video tutorials either, it"s not helping. Thanks alot for changing, while you helped others you left some behind. Smh.
Could you please add "auto video and audio sync (using wave form)" function to powerdirector app for android? (This feature is available in Lumafusion for ios. Now there are no any video editing app for android that have this function.)

@@PowerDirectorOfficial yes please! Having to use multicam plug to sync audio is annoying. Also the multcam plugin needs to have more cameras available, and it has a setious glitch when you use chaptered gopro files, it will stagger them into other cameras timelines, and misplace files. I have to merge all my chaptered gopro files to make it function correctly which is extremely time consuming
When will the over-complicated and unnecessary UI changes be eliminated? So much wasted time looking for simple tools that were needlessly moved. At least I don’t have to use this garbage program for work where wasted time is money. Video editing is just a hobby for me but it is no longer fun- now it is just FRUSTRATING. Cyberlink lost me as a loyal customer with the irrelevant UI changes.
